What even is “matter”? A good answer to that might pose a problem to panentheism. As things are right now, the idea of matter doesn’t pose a problem to an idealist view of panentheism.

In the West, pantheism and panentheism isn't talked too much about, maybe here and there, but not like (say) atheism vs. theism. However, in the East, where my family are from, it's often assumed and often talked about too. So this is a helpful bit from Dr. Craig. Thanks, Dr. Craig!

Great Sabbath Day to all believers in the Body of Christ. I see another place in the Old Testament where the ownership and care of the "Earth" are described which adds to this segment. Psalm 24: 1-3. This passage does not mean that God is "in" material things. It means he is involved in the providence of all things which can only mean that it is evident that He would have to be personally involved in all matters and things to make such a claim. It would be lunacy for a mere mortal human to adhere to such an authoritive position.

If God is seen as the source of all information, then the material universe can be a manifestation of divine information. This allows God to remain fundamentally immaterial while creating a material universe through informational processes. Jesus as the divine Word (Logos) through whom all things were made.

As a pantheist myself, I consider Dr. Craig's description of pantheism to be slightly off the mark.
Yes, The Universe is God - this is the pantheistic conception of God. However, The Universe is not simply matter, it also includes all immaterial reality as well.

    • @imago9059
      @imago9059 Місяць тому

      Here's the definition
Pantheism is the belief that God and the universe are the same thing, or that everything is a god. The term comes from the Greek words pan, meaning "all", and theos, meaning "God". Pantheists believe that God is present throughout the world, and that the universe is an immanent deity that has existed since the beginning of time.
By that, you equate the creation , the universe , with God. Not possible. As God is timeless.

You either failed to completely read or failed to understand my post so allow me to elucidate; the physical aspect of the world (what you call creation) is only part of The Universe. It is the immaterial aspect that is Divine, transcendent, and timeless.

@@imago9059 "Not possible" Based on what premise?
Imagine a person loses a leg in a tragic accident. It would not be impossible for that person to create a prosthetic leg to replace the leg they lost. That new prosthetic creation, once attached to the body of it's creator, would then become a part of themself. Thus it is entirely possible for a creation to be part of it's creator.

I’ve held the belief that the Bible teaches panentheism for several years now. After watching this video I’m still not convinced it’s any other way, with all due respect. I’ll have to dig into the scripture presented in this video and study it. My panentheism is that God is everywhere and in everything, there is no where I can go to escape God, it is in God that I live and move and exist, and I believe that the highest heaven cannot contain God. To sum up, God is present everywhere at all times, there is no where where God is not, and yet God transcends the physical universe. So the entire universe is in God, and His presence is immanent all throughout the universe. To help understand this, think of when you’re dreaming, your entire dream universe is within your mind, your essence is everywhere in your dream world creating all that’s in it, all of the characters in your dream are essentially you, and yet you are separate and beyond all that exists in your dream world.

@@NickSandt Greetings. As a pantheist myself, I appreciate the perspective you bring. In my understanding of panentheism however there is no meaningful distinction between pantheism and panentheism. This is mainly due to the fact that I do not hold the materialistic view that The Universe is nothing more than cold, lifeless matter. On a separate note, I am intrigued by your view that the Bible of Christianity teaches panentheism. Would you please cite a few verses from the Bible that support your view? I'm not here to challenge your view, just genuinely curious.

In my opinion this guy is completely wrong in his understanding of the infiniteness of God. God is not either quantitatively or qualitatively infinite and here is why.
God works in an infinite space. He works in an infinite time. Why? Because space and time are truly infinite and are independent of God.
That's right independent of God. This is why God can create a never ending number of universes or an neverending number of souls. It is because He has the space and time since they Infinitely are co-eternal with God.
The problem arises when people try to reason that all that exists is God and there is nothing outside of God. I do not hold to this idea.
Here is a thought experiment. Can God count to the end of infinity? The answer is NO because our definition is that infinity has no end. How do we know this? Answer: by counting numbers! Numbers have no end because a 1 can always be added to the largest number ever dreamed of and then another and then another into infinity.
So how could God be infinite if He can't count to its end? Therefore, He is not infinite. But the expanse of space could be and in this way God can infinitely create should He so choose.
I know this is only my opinion. But it is what I choose to believe and will continue to do so until God tells me different.

I am going to give you the solution to all the problems and with the information you will do what you decide. To end Islam and the war you have to ask for proof that the Quran was memorized. Trust me. It is infinitely important and urgent the matter. Was the Quran memorized or not? I don't believe the Quran was memorized. Why did you believe the Quran was memorized? Try to memorize the first page, in any language, to have a taste of what would be required in time and effort to memorize the rest of the book. Was the Quran memorized and Allah is the true God? So much is at stake. I am a psychologist and person of many talents, not a charlatan looking for attention. I want to have a serious debate with you with humanity listening because if I debate with you and nobody else is present you win the debate. I need to call again the program to debate again if God exists and atheism is false. Who, what or how is this God for the moment it doesn't matter. We agreed from nothing can not be created something. I only debate with people who understand reality is eternal because from nothing can not be created something. Something always existed. I think that something that always existed is God and atheism is false. I failed and I need to keep trying to succeed. The true God is Spinoza's God. Spinoza is difficult to understand because it is impossible to understand infinitude and eternity. God is impossible to understand because it created the universe after existing forever. It's a fact, it's logical, it's reality, it's rational. Either the universe is eternal or God is eternal. Either what has a beginning of existence is eternal or what created what has a beginning of existence is eternal. What makes sense? What is impossible and what is necessary? What do you want? I want to end religion and atheism with knowledge being rational. The truth is atheism is a logical fallacy that assumes God is the religious idea of the creator of the creation to conclude wrongly no creator exists because a particular idea of God doesn’t exist. Time is running out and is eternal. I want preferential treatment because i claim i have discovered the nature of God and other vital discoveries that are going unnoticed, censored and not understood, and people treat me like if i was a fool. Emergency. Thank you.
