See all the goodies on his account, folks. I can't recommend it enough. It'll absolutely knock your paint pots over. Thank you, Emil, for sharing your hobby so others can be inspired to do the same. Your work is INSANELY executed and it totally blows my mind every time I see your work.

A huge honor to have my art reviewed in this way, thank you Dave! It's been an amazing journey with Legio Damnatorum so far, but the project has just begun! You did send me a Knight kit to play with ;) Thanks again brother and thanks to everyone for your amazing comments, feedback and for making this community, and hobby, so amazing!
Every single one of your creations are absolutely stunningly amazing works of art
@@albertomontemayor5900 Thank you so much and I am so glad you like them! :)
Insane art and ability. I would love to learn to do work like that. Still learning to paint at this point though 😅
@@ionminiatures We all start somewhere :) me as well! Just keep at it brother :)
Bro it’s because of creative people like you that inspire me to paint and do crazy stuff I hope one day I’m as good as you.
Every time I see one of his models I'm speechless, it's just madness 🤯.
I wish I was that talented, it don't have to be 100 percent, 10 percent would be enough for me.
I've said the same thing to soo many artists, especially when I started some 5 years ago. A lot of paint has gone through my brushes since then. Still surreal that you, and others, give me that comment now. Thank you, your comment means a lot :)
I met Algerothen during Armies on Parade 2022.
He was super nice and inspired me to challenge myself on kitbashing my own Night Lords army.
Though having him participate on the same Armies on Parade as me made me awestruck as how much he has improved over 1 year.
That landraider is absolutely the craziest centerpiece I've ever seen
Such great events and awesome people at the local store! Looking forward to meet more people at the Fang competition in may! Hope to see you there :) Also, tack för kommentaren :)
I don't have time to participate this year in The Fang as I'm currently kitbashing 2,8k points of Night Lords for another campaign in July.
But I'll definately visit GW to check out all the amazing projects people has painted!
Thanks for highlighting the hobby aspect of the whole thing. I feel like I don't even have anything to say about his stuff... it's just amazing
I agree, awesome that Dave went through a bit more what I've done to the models. Hope to see more of these videos with info from other artists' works and how they've done them :) Thanks for the comment
These are amazing. I'm still pretty new to the hobby (a little over 2 years in) and it blows my mind what some veteran hobbyists are capable of.
I started roughly 5 years ago myself :) Amazing hobby and community! Thanks for the comment :)
He's work is always insane.
Thank you brother, really appreciate your comments and reshares, means a lot! :)
@@Algerothen I try when possible!
I've seen some of these before. His work has a very distinctive style, and always looks amazing. He is truly an exceptional artist. And here I am just trying to make my space marines not look terrible....
Thank you so much, and glad you like the style. It bends the lore a bit and is not for everyone, but so glad you like it and I thank you for your comment! :)
Hot video. This reminds me of visiting the Faraos Cigarer in Lyngby and walking between the role playing costumes in the basement only to see young adults and old teens sitting around and painting figures while others stood at a huge wargaming table with tapes and rulers. Shops rarely cater to their customers anymore like that, being a place to enjoy and use the bought items on top of just a shop for selling. I hope that shop is just as homely as back then if it still exists.
Alternative video title: When Golden Demon is Too Easy...
Haha! Your comment made me laugh! I hope to be able to at least submit an entry to GD one day :) Thanks for the comment! :)
@@Algerothenthese look utterly awesome, how did you manage all that perfect free hand?
Truly incredible work. I remember seeing the first model of his on IG and my jaw dropping to the floor.
Thank you! So glad you like my work :) Hope to be able to do more soon! :D
Great googly moogly! The flames and freehanding on these are just jaw dropping. Even looking for it, sometimes i cant believe those arent internally LED lit. Amazing work.
Thank you so much! Been working hard over the years how to make them look like fire. I have recently found an even better approach! Hope to share it soon, stay tuned :D
LOL, the greenstuff informercial is the very first thing I remember watching from MWG 🥰 that hit home ❤
I havn't seen the original clip, have to look it up :D
@Algerothen that video is ancient, I believe it was the second video uploaded by MWG
@@Abraleo Someone sent it to me on Insta, was that you? :)
Few suggestions for future episodes: Roman Lappat, Oscar Lars, Tauworkshopguy, Blightforge, Mamikonpaints, David Arrabo Miniatures, Olthar, Hellglazer, Essentia_artis, ThePhiltyPhish.
Let me know when u need more!
Absolutely outstanding work. It's inspirational.
Opposite effect on me. I'm now demoralized. 😅
@@totallyalpharius507 Sorry to hear. But goals are good to have.
@@JamesWilson-sg7im I was the same when I started and tried to do some more advanced techniques and such. Was disheartening when I didn't manage. But I didn't give up! Started experimenting, painting a lot, and used others models as reference, and here we are! I would love to say that this comes from talent, but 80 percent of it is just trial/error and sheer tenacity! I wish to think that also because that means I may be able to reach my true hobby goals in terms of painting one day (Which are higher than this), and if I can, you can as well :)
@@Algerothen Well then, good luck to us both. :)
He deserves a hell of a lot more followers for the work that he's done.
I thank you so much for your sentiment :) I am not hunting followers though, I know my models are not for everyone, the models are a bit niche and bends the lore a bit. Simply grateful for the followers I do have and I think it’s super awesome that so many like my art :)
I really like the repulsor with the lightning for the grav plates, very Matrix inspired... i like it.
That was the inspiration for it yeah :) Quite an easy effect to do, if you want to do something similar I recommend trying to find as thin wire as possible, preferably 0.1-0.3 mm. Thanks for the comment :)
I love that you just make videos you think are cool. Love this kind of content. Have my support.
why do you tortureing us with perfect paintings
Dude these minis are insane. If he showed up and put those out as his army i dont know if I should be awed or intimidated or both these are fantastic!
Haha, thanks! Played the army a few times. Actually doesn't look as impressive on the tabletop as they do in pictures because the colors sort of blend together... Trees get lost in the forest type of thing :) Fun to look at them individually though :) Thanks for the comment
Just insane art. I really ant to do stuff like that.
Thank you! Try your best, give each model the time they deserve, use tons of references, and you can do it! :) At least works for me :)
Sick
Nurgle was not involved in the making of any of these models. haha. Thanks for the comment
Waiting for Chapter Master Valrak to make an appearance.
That was a fun model to paint, sanctioned by Valrak himself :) Had to ask him before I made a model from his chapter :)
Imagine if he made a Legion Sanguinius.
is this like a ghost rider legion ?
Not quite. In the lore, the legion of the damned are portrayed as space marines in blackened armor that burns with ethereal fire. It's a bit unclear what they are, but they are often depicted a undead skeletons when unhelmeted, as if they were ghosts of fallen marines. Yet, this is only one interpretation of what they are. There are several. My army bends the conventions of the lore a bit, hence why I refer to them as Legio Damnatorum and not Legion of the Damned. Hope that explains it a bit better and thanks for the comment.
Valrik? Shouldn’t his armour be orange… 🤔
Are you perhaps thinking of the wrong person? :) The reclaimers of Dorn are yellow/gold and black like I painted mine :)
Of course, it's a self portrait of himself If it was anyone else it wouldn't be a self portrait...
Haha yup. I caught that too.
@@miniwargaming I mean, still technically correct even if redundant.
Aren't all legion of the damned basically spirit of vengeance space Marines
Depends a bit on what lore you choose to rely on. In the original lore for the legion, they were the firehawks chapter, which got lost in the warp and got a decease that slowly killed them. The newer lore presents them more as imperial daemons but there is also lore to suggest that they are ghosts of fallen marines since they've been seen baring remnants of other chapter's symbols, e.g. the ultramarines, iron hands and the aforementioned firehawks. The lore is very obscure, but I am going with the Ghost variant :) Thanks for the comment.
@@Algerothen I subscribe to the ghost idea. I mostly do this because I also subscribe to the idea the Primarchs are part warp entity. There for they pass this down to they're sons. So when a marine is killed that spark of warp entity becomes a member of the legion of the damned. No real evidence to support that theory but it makes sense in my head. My comment about them being spirit of vengeance Marines partly goes with that aswell but I was more meaning the physically they all resemble Ghost Rider to one degree or another. At least in my mind.
I can barely write my name in print lmao
Neither can I! haha, my handwriting is atrocious, also really bad at drawing stuff in perspective. Copying art though, I seem to have an act for. haha. Odd how that works. Thanks for the comment
Noice!
There's the Warhammer 40k community page picky like ....😃😄😁😆😅 5 Smile's.
Mother of God...
You misspelled Emperor of Mankind! haha. Thanks for the comment :)
@@Algerothen Your work is incredible.
@@SafetyBriefer Thank you :)
That knight have been an inspiration for my imperial knights (they are nowhere near to this). It was so good to see it here :)
So awesome to hear that it inspired you :) Thank you so much for the comment!
Really, you go with the one with the sword for your "Oh, it's Ghostrider!" moment and not the one with the chain?
Hahaha! Thought struck me as well! The chainsword outrider was made first and everyone posted that it looked like ghost rider so with the one with the chain I leaned into the GR aesthetic ;) Hence also why I made him a black templar.
wow
Thank you :)
Wow, such inspirational pieces, awesome to see, makes me want to upskill my freehand work
Freehands are a lot of fun :) Also, in some ways, easier than painting a model. Miss a highlight on a model, people will see it, miss a highlight on a freehand it's just where it's supposed to be ;) Benefits of 2D over 3D. Haha. Thanks for the comment :D
Try baking soda and superglue then use contrast paints it creates a crazy real looking flame
Haha, didn't know this? It causes an exothermic reaction I guess? How bad? As in real flames? Or just molten plastic. I will try not to do it, but curious how bad it can get ;)
Truly amaazing skill and passion!
Thank you so much! :)
Seriously, does Dave age at all?
One of Khorne's gifts? ;)
Wow - simply just wow
Thank you so much :) Glad you like my work :)
Truly inspiring!!!
Glad to hear it! As I stated in the video that's my hope when I post my models :) Thanks for the comment!
Hobby Hunter is a fantastic idea for a series, would love to see more of these!
this is just unfair
Agreed lol.
Not quite sure how to respond to that! Haha. Thank you I guess? Haha :)
So do they play these in games?
Incredible work and you can tell that takes tons of practice, just insane
Thank you, and yes! There are a few thousand hours behind this army by now. All worth it though :D Loved every second and more to come!
The HELSREACH movie is still my Gold Standard of 40 films. Way to go Richard Boylan ! ! !
Masterpiece! Wish we could get more like it.
@@Algerothen You don't win Golden Deamons, you are a Golden Deamon 👿 ! ! !
I can only wonder if you do commissions. 😀👍
@@stevenmcgrath5114 Haha, thank you, I appreciate the sentiment of your comment :) Unfortunately I don't do commission work :/ I have decided to keep hobby and work separate in this hobby. Made the misstake with other hobbies of trying to earn money and that has led to me loosing interest. I don't want to make that mistake again. However, if that changes, I will make sure to let the community know :)
@@Algerothen I totally respect that, You would be most assuredly swamped with clients and that would eventually kill your joy in this wonderful hobby.
I supposed the world must admire youe genus from afar 😃Bet of luck and please keep them coming ! ! !
@@stevenmcgrath5114 Thank you again and I will do my best to bring you more fun models! :)
That outrider is the coolest ghost rider reference iv seen yet.
The funny thing is that I didn't intentionally make him the ghost rider. Was only after posting it that everyone made the connection, including myself. But I mean, the bike, the flaming skull, the blackish armor, it becomes GR right away :) Thanks for the comment!
@@Algerothen Honestly brother you made a true masterpiece right there I'm inspired 😀
@@sirn3cr045 Fantastic to hear it brother! Best of luck with your own project and feel free to be inspired/borrow anything you see on my models :)
We need more content other than GW stff. :(
There is a bit of Ravaged Star at the end :D
