I hate to say Black Hawk Down is my favorite film because I know it’s not entertainment, but it is. I appreciate and admire every service member involved. Thank you.
Jocko should 100% start doing Audio Books for people. There's something incredible about how he reads people's books. This one was great. The Best 1 that was hands down Extra Extra incredible was RKF Jr.'s, that was such a Powerful Read. Talking about JFK's funeral is was Powerful.
First off this is so awesome we need more black hawk down content!! Second i just finished Leadership Strategy and Tactics and it was an amazing read for somebody who couldnt get in the army due to a disease but wanted to learn more about leadership!

I worked with a guy who was on the ground in that battle. I forget his name, its been 22 years since I saw him, but he had transitioned to Apache pilot by time I met him. I was a crew chief.
this is nuts, i remember this back in the day, thank you jocko for making light of this situation (yes i've only heard the first ten minutes lol, i'll give a better detail later on)
@@Orangecountybowhunter Shawn Ryan's interview with Tom Satterly gives a little more detail. Tom opens up a little more because that was the last interview he was ever going to do about that battle.
They said this whole battle is on video I don't remember seeing anything besides some video from the air of one of the Blackhawks going down. Does anybody have a link to the original footage??
My childhood town was Lisbon, Maine. I met Thomas Field's father several times and drove on the Thomas Field Memorial Highway just about every day. Our community still feels the waves from this unfortunate event.
I can't stay for the whole episode. Because my brain is on the children and figuring out how to raise awareness about my ideas of how we can prevent sexual assault, or at least try
I know you're not in charge of all service. Members, and you're just a service member yourself. However, I'm talking specifically about policemen, but I know a lot of people that work on the police force or at police departments have background in military. So what I'm wondering is, why are there like hundreds of thousands of victims of abuse? From people such as P diddy and when I say hundreds and thousands, I mean, like the cartel victims of trafficking too, how come nobody feels empowered or safe to say anything Ali Carter talks about how she wanted to say something when she was 14 or she tried she put up a video and then she took it right back down. Now that touched me because I've done that I had schizophrenia, I thought people were following me and whatever, and so I understood her and it made me think, why isn't anybody talking about draining the police department swamp, and if a lot of these police officers that are selling out? Are starting their careers in the military? Then some moral re-education needs to be happening there in the military and I know you train seals and stuff, so maybe you know, one ear turns into 10 ears, so if you tell 10 people maybe dolto 10 more people that will tell 20 people, and maybe they'll think, and I don't know. Something has to change with the police department with the service. Members with the people that we go to to be like, help me. Somebody's trying to hurt me, save me, but instead, it's like we have nowhere to go and I don't know who else to tell I i told chuck grassley, i'm going to tell, I don't know who else to tell
Fun facts, women or kids with an ak, running ammo, or acting as spotters are all acts that make you a combatant. Age and gender isn't a factor with bullets, grenades, rpgs. Its sad but go peddle your lies elsewhere.

Incredible episode. I can't get enough of the stories from the Battle of Mogadishu. I'm glad Col. Lechner got to come home to his wife and daughter.
one of the best Jocko podcasts....a behind the scenes look at this event...
Can you imagine if they released the original footage? Would love that!!
Jocko - Attorney General just opened up. The nation is calling! Best
What makes you think Jocko would drop everything to be lawyer?

How pakistani and malayasians soldiers helped in rescueing US soldiers after the attack is commendable.
