Huge help! Fixed an older MacBook that we haven’t been able to use for years. Cheers!
So much gratitude! I’m in a remote area of Central America and trusty old Mac crashed this AM… and - of course - I haven’t backed it up in over a week. Your video got her functional again! :)
Thank you very much, took the ram out and reseated it now it’s working fine
Thank you immensely for this video! You saved me so much money, and saved my sanity.
You’re welcome.
Thanks very much CJ Rich, it solves my problems, soo lucky i have memory with me n I'm in Ghana
thank you, you gave courage to do it ! and it was successfully completed !
Many thanks worked perfectly and very clear easy to follow instructions
Thanks so much! Definitely helped. Picked up RAM from Best Buy. CORSAIR DDR3...$45
Had the same problem. Followed these instructions, but since I didn't have new memory, I put the old ones back. Problem solved!!! Probably a connection failure due to dust.
Hi! How did u do it?
Mine might be a little special... the ol' turn it off.. Shake it and turn it on again worked wonders lol!
Maybe it's time for an upgrade
Sounds like this will be my fix as well. Gladly pay for new ram before I take it in and get a bigger bill.
And......it worked!!! Best Buy 31.00
Great video!!!
The 3 beeps is also a board level issue.
I am just going to point this out as well. There is a flaw with 2012 MBPs that Apple is refusing to acknowledge -_-
Yeah, because I've swapped so many sets of RAM modules and it didn't help. My guess it's the logic board itself :(
sushles yep! Agreed. Mine doesn’t make the 3 beep sounds it just makes a brief whir sound and a small quiet 1 second beep and it does this every 5 seconds. It just did this half an hour ago, I was in the middle of watching a UA-cam video when the screen started glitching like crazy and then just shut off completely. Hadn’t turned on since. Super irritating.
Mines from 2012 as well*
Thanks heaps...My old and much loved MacBook is back up and running... Much appreciated!
Super helpful, thank you so much!
Worked for me. Thank you!
Mine fell, I did the same and put it back on and it worked, so try that before buying any!
Wow! 💯Thank you very much! ❤️ I did as you showed in your video & my Mac book pro from 2012 works again wonderfully! ✨
Good video! Super simple and helpful!
I had this issue last night - but could NOT turn off ?
What is it was accidentally dropped and its making that noise 😳
Thank you, this worked fro my 2011 Macbook pro!!!
Hello .. I changed the ram and still facing the same issue .. any help ?
Same, anyone?
thanks so much! this really helps! can you do one for MacBook pro auto shutdown ?
Awesome! You're the man!
I had to disconnect the connection from battery to motherboard. Then re input the ram, then connect the battery and that fixed the beeping. I have to try to see what is wrong with the other macbook now.
Thank you!!
Thanks very helpful ☺️👍
Did not work still beeps...
Ohh this is great thank you so much!
I got it to start working again by removing the bottom memory...I tried both in the top and they worked...they just dnt work in the bottom slot..
Sounds like your dimm slot went bad. Glad you were able to get your Mac working though. Good job.
Ram replaced, still beeping and giving me the same problem
Chris N you probably have a bad dimm slot. Try removing one ram stick at a time and see if it will boot off of one. If so, then you have a bad slot.
Thanks for the response. I tried airblowing it and reinserted the RAMs and it’s now playing again. Have had it on for 3hrs now. Hope it stays that way.
Awesome. Sounds like some dust might’ve been causing a bad contact on one of the dimm slots. Glad it’s working now.
@@CJRichvideo It is actually also a board level issue.
I just gave up on my Mac and took the RAM and switched to a Windows PC. Guess what's crazy -- the RAM tests fine in the PC.
Not coming at you or anything, but there is a board level issue that Apple knows is wrong with the 2012 non-Retina, but since the PC is so old they are just like *shrug.*
How do you fix a bad slot?
My picture went with the screen freezing then 3 beeps and then the screen went black
I put my cd inside and now I really want to get it out 😭😭😭
Will try this later, excellent video!
Good luck!

THANK YOU SOO SO MUCH! EVERYTHING WORKED FINE!!! If it wasn’t for this video I’d probably be so screwed. Thank you for the help! Have a great day! Liked & of course Subscribed!!
DeeLiRiouS 13 awesome. Glad I could help!
Great vid right on point
I fixed the RAM and stopped the beeping.. but I still am getting the start up sound with only a black screen. Also tried resetting the SMC but it didn’t seem to help, unless I’m doing it wrong? SOS :’-)
Really helpfull, thank you so much!
Thank you so much!!! You saved me from spending thousand of pesos😩❤️
Thank you so much!! It worked
Which ram should I buy for early 2013 MacBook Pro? I’ve got the same problem with three beeps
Thank you. It works.
Ok now i need money very helpful :D
Will this still work with 2- 8GB Rams instead of 2-4GB ?
Same thing like mine
lol i just hit the bottom really hard with my knee and hand
Nice. Did it fix it?
@@CJRichvideo yup! i will definitely look back to this tutorial when my method doesn't work! :)
ARIOLA GRANOLA lol that’s funny. Awesome. Glad your Mac is working.
just tried this and it worked. it’s the school’s computer so you definitely just saved my brothers life
Rey resendez HAHA OMG
Did you lose any data on your Mac when replacing the Ram?
No you do not.
Hey buddy video was great... Did the same process but didnt work... Can you help me out
Can you try just putting in 1 stick of ram at a time. You might have a bad dimm slot so try one at a time and see if it will boot.
Terrific! Thanks. I'll give it a try. I love my old Macbook Pro, not least because it still plays DVDs! I would have preferred this vid without the loud child playing in background, but hey. Working from home...right?
help! my macbook still turns on, but about 5 mins into using it, the screen will freeze with horizontal lines and 3 beeps will be heard until it will black out.. i tried opening the RAM and put it back again, turned on my macbook but 3 beeps still happens about 5mins into using it.. what should i do?
Did you actually replace the ram or just reseat it? Sounds like you have bad memory that needs to be replaced not reseated.
what if i change my ram? it will erase the documents on desktop? please help me my MacBook got one Ram only so maybe Ram itself is the problem because it beep 3 times
No it will not erase any data to change the ram.
ohhh ok thank you very much🙏🏻💙
Hey CJ, my Macbook only works with 1 ram card inserted. What does this mean?
More than likely you have a bad dimm slot. Unfortunately there is no way to fix that unless you replace the logic board. So you’ll have to continue using the one good dimm slot you have.
CJ Rich Interesting. Do you think 2 new cards will fix the issue?
Have you tried the working memory in the slot you think is bad? If it’ll work, then you’ll be safe to order two new memory sticks. If it won’t boot, then the slot is bad and I’d just order a single 8gb or 16 gb stick and run off of one.
CJ Rich I’ll definitely try that. If it doesn’t work I’ll use it with the one slot that works like you said. Thanks a lot!
You’re welcome. Good luck with everything!
you forget to disconnect the battery
Will this be the same solution for macbook air?
Yes.
Well I believe the ram might be soldered in on the MacBook Air.
What if you've replaced your RAM and the issue persists? I replaced my RAM after this happened and a couple months later it started again. The previous RAM wasn't that old, either. Thanks.
You might have a bad dimm slot. Try removing one stick at a time and then boot your Mac and use it with only one stick of ram inserted. If it still beeps then remove the other slot and put ram into the slot that was previously empty. Process of elimination.
@@CJRichvideo Thanks! Will give this a shot.
@@CJRichvideo Thank you Thank you Thank you!
This did it for me! The bottom dimm slot is bad. Thank you so much!
My 2013 MacBook Pro doesn’t have any ram sticks in it??? Any idea what I should do?
Not possible. If it has no ram it can not work. So you need to buy some and install it.
T H A N K Y O U!!!!!!! It worked!!! Thank you for helping me out!
This video just helped me get my Mac working again. Thank you so much. 🥹🙏🏽
So helpful…thank youuu so much
Thank you!
