The fact is the developer of the exploit never stated that it was going to be a requirement before the release. At least not from any public statements I could find. It was only referenced previously in the context of being a useful app for copying the PoC script from the USB to the game script app similar to Notepad T. I don't believe it was the developers intention to ever have this as a requirement and that it's only a temporary measure until she can finish the intended solution of loading the files over the network.
@MODDED WARFARE try putting the hdd on a hotplate or cause it to become heated up evenly when you are attempting a clone. it may cause the heads to stop sticking long enough to copy it over. additionally make sure it is getting plenty of power when rigged up externally. it is less likely to lose power which can cause clicking and power off. use a beefy power supply! i hope this helps!

He gave links to the app in the description as well also you should follow the guide provided by the exploit author which also mentions downloading ADV. His videos were thorough honestly

You must use Macrium reflex or some other backup program, I saw in differenti video of Macrium can complete cloning the NVME or the hdd of the precipua console and in the new can manually resize the partition for save some 200GB of Memory
Modded made 2 videos and in the 2nd one he talked about the explorer app. I downloaded it. He informed us as soon as he found out. The full trust version is not needed.

You do not need the file explorer. That's mentioned in this video. Even if you restore an app on a USB drive, you still need the license to launch it. Connecting to the internet (ms servers) runs the risk of having that license revoked from your account. Meaning you will not be able to launch the application. In the beginning, it was stated you need to set up the profile as "No Barriers" for this very reason. No barriers doesn't need internet to launch the applications. If you connect to the internet and the license is revoked, you can no longer access the app.

What I'm saying is can't you get a 2nd xbox, sign in with same profile and also make that your main console with no barriers (offline xbox won't know as it won't ever connect to XBL again). Once that's done disconnect and restore apps from the original xbox. But I'm guessing the liscence file can only be obtained from XBL
@@nielsssg that's correct. The license file is acquired from the MS servers when connected to XBL and stored locally on your hard drive. If you bought a 2nd Xbox, signed into the same account, and then transferred the app from USB to that 2nd Xbox, you would not be able to launch it, as that Xbox does not have the license file (because the application does not exist[anymore]). To be fair though, I believe the vulnerability is patched in v4910, which is the current firmware; though, I do not know that for a fact. If the vulnerability is in fact patched, even if you were able to transfer the application and use it, it'd render the point moot as the exploit wouldn't work anyway.
Please there are several people with paper weight Xbox series x due to SSD failure. Will be glad if hackers/developers can look into it and find an easier way to replace the SSD. The only available option for now is to get an SSD that comes with a series x/s and clone the 1gb partition of the failed SSD to the new one. Most times the failed SSD is completely bad and the 1gb encrypted partition cannot be cloned. I have this same problem
Dont go online, Microsoft released 4910 and it will patch the vuln. If you only have gamescript, no worries, exploit update will come out later this week.

That's the mayor problem with this exploit, I say it when it come out. If you have a problem with your hdd you are done. I don't know if you have a copy of the hdd and restore it on new hdd won't required internet, but all need to make a backup at least.

Question. I had a series S and then awhile back I bought an X and put my S away. When this was first revealed I did dl the game script on my X. But not the file explorer. Is there a way I can use my S, the one without the game script. Can I do the file explorer on it making it.the full version. Then somehow transfer that through a USB maybe to put that app on to my X which contains game script?

i have version 4909 on my xbox with the internet shut off. wasnt able to grab gamescript or adv. file explorer but i wouldnt know what to do with the modded console at this point anyways. im just going to leave it shut off and let it collect dust until we get to the next stage of the mod. hopefully theres a way to get around not having those apps in the future.

I have a hard drive that clicks, but it still works... whenever it's not being accessed is when it clicks tho.. so if I playback a video stored on it, everything is fine... but it works for now.... IDK about the 'click of death' or how bad this thing is on the xbox (xbox one i'm guessing) but yes CLONE IT ASAP!! Anyone else noticed when using the adv file app, if you cant find the GS app in the "Q" drive, look in the other drives to find the location to copy across the txt. also after running there is a in file and out file created.
@@100Sachen80 Can you see the Star and then go local, follow the file path to the GS as per the instructions. I am still messing around with Netcat, its been a long time since I last used it, will have to get an old router out tomorrow to continue playing. When you get to the paste file I would first delete the old GS saved file and replace it with the new one ;) I am as rusty as h3ll with all this stuff. If this doesnt help let me know I'll try and upload a vid

Good news. The Adv File Explorer (FullTrust) requirement as been removed. Simply use the remote version if you don't have the file explorer app.

Getting the message out ASAP was the priority rather than the most convenient method to test out the exploit.

If you find out which URLs Xbox uses, you could set up a PiHole and block them with that

Dude chill, at this point the exploit is not for you. Later releases will not require Adv File Explorer.

I have a launch Series X with less than 100 hours on it. I turned it on last week (or tried to) and it has zero power going to it. No lights, no fans, NOTHING. It was sitting on a shelf, unplugged, for 6 months since the last time I powered it on. What a piece of shit.

its not gonna be needed for the final exploit, this is just for testing, the finished exploit should contain loading the files over the network.

Question. I had a series S and then awhile back I bought an X and put my S away. When this was first revealed I did dl the game script on my X. But not the file explorer. Is there a way I can use my S, the one without the game script. Can I do the file explorer on it making it.the full version. Then somehow transfer that through a USB maybe to put that app on to my X which contains game script?

2. Access to retro emulators without developer account
3. Playing steam games using Linux. (Like we can do in PS4)
That would be very nice and would probably save tons of money although maybe lose some in the process (because of I can’t switch back between the Xbox firmware and windows 10/11 system or Linux system then you would lose your Xbox games)

i have version 4909 on my xbox with the internet shut off. wasnt able to grab gamescript or adv. file explorer but i wouldnt know what to do with the modded console at this point anyways. im just going to leave it shut off and let it collect dust until we get to the next stage of the mod. hopefully theres a way to get around not having those apps in the future.

I just use dev mode to play retro games to many restrictions on current software just for the hard work to get wiped in later updates

@@harryjackson7418 i when into the file explorer app and there is a option at the top right says not full access and i clicked it and took me to download the full trusted one just go to network and turn off auto updates it shouldnt update you stright away then

I have a hard drive that clicks, but it still works... whenever it's not being accessed is when it clicks tho.. so if I playback a video stored on it, everything is fine... but it works for now....

- BUT do you think that this hack will lead to someone creating a way to install Game Script by pulling the app from a hacked xbox that has it installed and then putting on a usb drive to then installing it from the usb stick to an unmodded xbox?
Anyone else noticed when using the adv file app, if you cant find the GS app in the "Q" drive, look in the other drives to find the location to copy across the txt. also after running there is a in file and out file created.
Cant find the directory in Q or anywhere else! Any hints?
@@100Sachen80 Can you see the Star and then go local, follow the file path to the GS as per the instructions. I am still messing around with Netcat, its been a long time since I last used it, will have to get an old router out tomorrow to continue playing. When you get to the paste file I would first delete the old GS saved file and replace it with the new one ;) I am as rusty as h3ll with all this stuff. If this doesnt help let me know I'll try and upload a vid

I don't have the trust version of the file explorer but if u can load the host files from a network that's ok i guess, however even if i had that version i don't know how this jailbreak would be functional for me duo to that i'm not much of a developer or some sort , however i'll keep that in case of if it would be useful for me some day
