On the old junk I revive, I have never (ever!) had a carb work without at least a spray-can cleaning. For me, a bit of ether to see if she pops and then off comes the carb. I'm shocked (and jealous) at your luck! Thanks for another great video and thanks for the mag trick. I wonder why that works ......
Maybe a lot of folks will pay attention to the correct, not to mention easy, proper method to start a hand crank engine. I knew a 90 year old man and life long farmer in the 1960’s that would pull his WC twice, turn on the Fairbanks and proud of it always starting on the first hot pull of the crank. PS, he never broke an arm either.
LOL, I about fell out of my chair when that thing started on the crank and ran on all 4 cylinders!🤣 ...Then I remembered... back in the mid-1960's we had a '52 WD, a CA and a D-17.. all three of those tractors would start in the coldest weather imaginable, like 5 or 10 F., and most times on electric start. The D-17 was 12 v., but the CA and the WD were both 6 v. and cranked like they had a crankcase full of grease.😲 The saving grace was that impulse coupling on the magneto to give them a good hot spark every time! Allis-Chalmers for the win!!😄👍👍👍
Sir I have a 1950 allis chalmers model WD tricycle tractor exactly like that one been using it for over 30 years. Excellent tractor. You can still buy every part you need for it.
I recently found your channel and enjoying you and your work.😊 Please keep those videos coming I'll tickle your algorithm and monetization every opportunity.
I just found your channel, your one cool dude I have two Farmalls with mags they are good source of spark if you get into plug wires it will light up your day😂,keep up the good work 😅
My father had a AC power unit off of a AC combine. We put it on a blower to fill silos. If it didn’t start on the first two cranks you flooded it. Usual started first crank (1/4 turn). I am looking at a AC C to repair. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for sharing the video and putting the effort in to get this WD back running again. I learned to drive with a WD very similar to this one. Granted, that was well over 40 years ago. Very fond memories of it and the use we had for it.
There is a young UA-camr Andrew Hanna who buys and restores old tractors, mabe look him up and speak to him. He is phenomenal and has a real live for period machines. Regards from South Africa
The magneto only looses spark because of grounding, or the magnet has no magnetism. One can remagnetise the magnet or drag it around seriously. Notice Randy's got spark when he shifted to a lower gear. If your spouse won't pull ya'll around ya'll need to remagentise the magneto.
The engines sit down inside the frame rails, so the front bolster has to sit forward far enough that it doesn't hit the engine. On the later WD-45 diesels, the hood goes full length and covers that front portion.
There is a hand clutch on that thing. Only use the foot clutch to change gears. Lot easier operation. How do i know? We had a 1949 WD and had it up graded to a W D 45.
Enjoyed watching you get this tractor running again Randy. The magneto troubleshooting was pretty interesting. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!

new sub. great helper, you got there...
Thanks for the sub! Yes, she's the best!
Good video! Thanks for saving another old tractor from the scrap heap!
Thanks for watching!

A lot of people make it harder (and more dangerous than it needs to be)! Thanks for watching!
Offffffff😊

Yet another good job, well done. I also learned something I didn't know, that you could re-charge a mag like that. Thanks. Steve in the UK.
Thanks! I've had about a 90% success with that method. It's always worth trying in my opinion.
Ain't got no gas in it !😮 Glad you got it Goin, definitely worth saving. 😊
Just found your channel when you brought the 3 tractors home. Love the revival of this WD.
That was fun. Thanks for posting Randy
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for video I just bought a wd so I learned about it

Enjoyed the video thanks
I’m not an AC fan but it looks like a good tractor. I enjoy your approach to getting a new one running. I watch all your videos. Thanks Randy
Nice job getting it going.

had a 48 WD, wow those front tires hit a small rock or stone watch out for those thumbs
Sounds great
Nice work
I am impressed with the shape of the tires, they cannot be original?
I'm sure they have been replaced at least once. They would be in better condition if they had not sat flat for years.
have two motors one has a rod that poked out of number 4, the other is nice. there for the taking if you wish
Awesome Beautiful 😊
Hay I’m pretty sure when you check for spark on a engine you should only pull out one at a time it could damage the magneto
Awesome
Sweet

Thought you were going to smash all the fro t tin work the way you were moving it
I'm curious. The frame juts out forward of the cowel. What accounts for that design choice?

Nice a/c tractor I would be interested would you let me know.

That tractor sound like a farmall
Hell this ain’t even a project. Might has well be brand new. 😂
Do you have a brother in Washington state who is also a you tuber?
What was that worn-out cliche...something like ...men and their toys...? Well, those who do say it are just jealous.
