Great job using old wood and finally someone made a video with a neo 4.7 i have the same exact sub but in 15 with dry carbon with blue sticker cant wait to finish the video and see what it can do keep up the great work
all these people that say run 2 subs if you have the right box all you need is 1 sub, i'm running a budget system harmony audio 15 in a huge tuned box with only 500 watts and it bumps good
Jacob, in the future or future rebuild, I'd suggest doing what I did . Cut a piece of 3/4 plywood, MDF, whatever that's shaped to the rear floor,. Make cardboard templates for around contours(wheel wells etc) and lay em out and cut so you have one big platform that's flat, and that you can screw whatever to, box, amps, batts etc. I'm gonna guess that your Ford probably had cargo tiedowns that bolted to the floor. Find out what bolt/thread size, and use those holes to mount the piece of plywood. Do that, and it's a rock solid base to mount whatever. I can grab my box with two hands and shake the whole truck, it ain't going anywhere P.S. Did you do any electrical measurements for the sealed side in or out of the vehicle?
Great idea, I actually similar to that on the floor baffle bolted to the floor in my last walled system so it was solid. The floor level is still bolted where electrical is installed. I didn’t do any tests for the sealed side no.
QUICK QUESTION ALL THE SUBWOOFERS AND AMPLIFIERS THAT YOU'VE DONE USED DO U STILL HAVE THEM? YOU DONE ALOT OF BUILDS IN THAT 1 FORD EXPLORER TRUCK WITH DIFFERENT BRAND SUBWOOFERS AND THEY ALL FLEXING
I've always liked sealed...Had 2 18s Dual 2 ohm dayton ultimax. Each one was fed by a skar 2200x1 at 4ohms...probably getting around 800 watts each. Things sounded like Imax. 2006 dodge 2500
@@SingleSubScrub hey man im routing for you to do that 160DB@29hz or lower, i know its a ungodly number but i feel its possible, also you run the Sundown nsv3/4 if i am not mistaken 🤔😅
I would run 2 amps on each 18 1 amp per coil I would also put some acoustic foam of some sort inside that box and invert that 18 to give it some more airspace and much better Cooling
Good ideas, sadly my sub is a dual 2 ohm so it has to be ran at 1 for most amps or 2 2 ohm amps. I’m going for loudest output at peak so invert wouldn’t be as loud but of course always pros and cons.
4th orders allow for alot better cone cone control with the sealed section, higher power handling capabilities, and always louder at peak SPL/output due to the ratio. 6ths are hard to tune.
It looks lot like what the big boys who hit over 170 db use for an enclosure. Does it go very low? I could do subwoofer experiments all day! Very cool!
@@JacobViral Nice! Good job bro! It's like the saying on the A Team movie...I like it when a good plan comes together. Team Jacob Viral gunning for the world record in spl?? I think your well on your way. Keep boomin!
JacobViral, why not invert your sub! It will keep it from heating up so fast. When ever I have a sealed box, I invert the sub or subs. I get a lot more play time before having to let the subs cool off. Just a thought.
@@JacobViral I just ran into this issue.i settled on 1 amp per sub, sucks they are d2 tho cause I always run my Koreans at .5, and I always rise to .99 or just above
A man I have a question I am doing a 4th order in the trunk of my 300 for my 15 inch sundown u sub why on your box do you not run the port wall into the box off the loading wall like halfway into the box
The box is around 16-17 cubes Net so a port longer then 4-5” would make the frequency peak drop to much and not be as loud at peak being such a big ratio. If it was a normal 4th it would have depth.
@@JacobViral ok cool thanks idk still learning when it comes to 4th and 6th order boxs I can’t wait to get mine in I was gonna just shoot big and try and do it without a design from a box builder but there is so much that can go wrong and just be off a hair and it won’t sound good and wood being how much it is now I’ll wait on the design to get sent back to me

sweet ,,, love that you did the 1 sub box,,everyone hit that thumbs up
Way to reuse what you have. Good experiment. Maybe a sealed vs ported SQ type test.
Wish I had an SUV. Lol
Nice job man. Way to reuse all that wood!
Jacob Foreal this is what I have been waiting for. Thank you so much for showing this info. Much appreciated!
Your welcome 👍
Half the time I don’t know what happing but it’s always awesome to watch a master
You're the most indecisive car audio fanatic I've ever seen. It's like you rebuild your system before the subs are even broken in
Love the build esp using old material!!
Thanks I made it work ;)

Thanks, they are great 4th order subs and with a 4” coils for good power handling.
Very interesting build
Can’t wait to see those numbers 👍🏻
Thanks, I plan to have an update on 2nd channel after I post the rest of my demos from previous system in coming weeks.
haha, love this build, all scrap wood, aslong as i bumps i say!
How do I calculate my sealed dimension on my bandpass without sealed specs for sub
No one answer, use an SPL meter and learn what the sub likes. I know for an 18” it ranges 2.5-3.25 sealed in a 4th.
@@JacobViral thanks

Great idea for a build 👍👍
Thanks Bojo!
Looking great
Thanks it’s definitely unique lol
You should add the other Sub in there that sound nice with two 18s
That’s what I’m saying
Wanted to go for a big 5:1 ratio or bigger 4th and be impressive single sub project.
Nice looks nice but I would of personally did 2 18" subwoofers.
Thanks j.v I am all about reusing wood
It turned out good 👍
I got some specs for you.... Whole different ball game of bass. Look forward to hearing from you.

Did u use wood glue or PL between the 2x6s when Kreg Jigging them together??
Not for this box no, even last wall I had no glue on it. I did use PL on the roof when I installed it.
Awesome
Nice 👍 👍 👍
Did you invert the sub?
Never always mounted regular, louder always, better SPL, better cone control, higher pressure output, and bigger ratio for 4th.
I.J.S. you should have tried it with a different hz tune
I NOTICED A LOT OF STEPS BE MISSED LIKE UPGRADE FUSES IN THE CAR, REGULATIONS NEED SOME UPGRADES, EVEN YOU AFTERMARKET RADIO GETS 30 FUSES
Just started watching, cant wait to see the 8,000 k CLAMP 🤣
Yea got a lot of work to get there and a bigger amp needed lol.
man if you can do a 160DB@25hz with a single 18 i'd be massively impressed or even a 150DB@20-29hz is nuts.
I am hoping for a 158-160dB burp at my peak in the 40hz ranges, it wouldn't be possible in the 20s with the power/style box I have.
@@JacobViral i believe the 160DB@40-49hz is possible but id love to see what you score at 20-29hz regardless.
@@EBMproductions1 It's extremely hard to do in the lows single sub. I'm currently hitting 156+ at 28, and figure I'll likely max out around a 158.

Where is single sub scrub?
Hi
Nice bro 🔥💪
Nice
Jacob do you use bassbox Pro and SketchUp for your designs? Or do you just use math and paper/pen? Always wondered
Never used a design software, always simply paper and a box calculator on 12volt for quick calcs
Coca cola song in by gucci mane
That'd be awesome to run 2 subs
Awsome bro
Your not into 6th order ? Why mainly 4th orders you like?
4th orders allow for alot better cone cone control with the sealed section, higher power handling capabilities, and always louder at peak SPL/output due to the ratio. 6ths are hard to tune.
I want more power, Scotty. I'm sorry Captain I'm giving the engines all they've got.
been running 2 12's for years but now running single 15 it has way better low's and more power never going back to 12's
It looks lot like what the big boys who hit over 170 db use for an enclosure. Does it go very low? I could do subwoofer experiments all day! Very cool!
The big box allows for the lows yes, with the port like during the demo it would go down to 19-20hz, but needs to be opened up to get little louder.

Its a 3" coil bro
@@JBlNN I wouldn't put it pass him you can always tune it down and a 4.7 so 4" voice coil bro!!
Probably test eventually 12-13k watt amp at 1 ohm to see how it does after all complete.
