Oobah Butler of fake shed restaurant fame is back and this time he’s turned his attention to the world of fashion. Paris Fashion week is iconic amongst A-Listers and fashion inner circles. It's the place where you find all the next big trends, the crème de la crème of fashion weeks. Georgio Peviani was getting loads of attention at PFW.
Buyers from Milan wanted his denim in their stores, the inner-circle wanted him at their showrooms and A-Listers partied with him at night. But the man doesn't actually exist.. does he? This is the time Oobah Butler faked his way into Paris Fashion Week.
WATCH NEXT: The Shed at Dulwich was the number one rated restaurant in London, but the main problem was that it didn't exist - vice.video/2KbdNzI

I am making enough money to be able to afford luxury items, but for many years I am buying more top quality replicas, than real items. I am not person who is looking to fashion as investment. I want my handbags, shoes, sunglasses or jewelry for one season. Sad fact is, that my replicas have better quality than most of original products. We did comparisons with friend who works for one of the top designers and she was shocked. I know people who bought *suluxs* at reputable places.

I don't think it needed proving. The point of all of those things was that they were intangible to begin with. Something that you can always keep out of the hands of others for no *good* reason--or no reason--at all. A way to secure power and influence with such fleeting and hard to pin objectives that it was truly exclusive. That's why fashion has had such a dark modern history. That's also why influencing is so broad talent with the stage of the internet. Someone can blatantly rip off a smaller creative and thrive, bc they have the access to this "world" and associated stature. Mainstream fashion and influencing, in the name if vanity, has always heen vapid and empty and that was always the point.

Adam has created, established and then maintained the brand for 30 years but if he rocked up and asked for a pass would he get one?

Sea island cotton (the rarest cotton in the world), was it made by hand or by machine, how many have been produced? I ask myself those questions and then i come to a a rational conclusion and make the determination if said product is worth what they are asking for it. We are not living in an illusion. We are living in a world with limited supply and unlimited demand. The other nice thing about living in this world is that you ARE NOT FORCED TO BUY ANYTHING YOU DO NOT WANT! If you believe you can make the item for less, then do it. I don’t know if you know this, there are a couple small companies, walmart, uniqlo, topshop, that sell clothes for 1-10 USD. Making an argument about one aspect of an industry shows a lack of knowledge and thought on your end...

99% of succeeding in ANYTHING is being confident. This worked (& all of the "fake outs" he does work) because Oobah does everything with such confidence. He really became Georgio Peviani in that instance, and he represented himself as if he knew he was meant to be at the top. The real lesson to learn here is to be confident in anything you do, or at least fake it till you make it. If you believe in yourself, others will take notice and believe in you also. You only live once.. so chase those dreams like you know they're already yours. Confidence is the single best thing you can do for yourself. If you don't have faith in yourself, or you product, or creation - why would anybody else? Own it!

This reminds me of when someone put down a pair of glasses in an art museum and ppl were just looking at it as if was part of the exhibit. The same thing can be said about the fashion world when they view things as “fashion”

I feel like fashion is in a similar place that other arts such as cinema and or even video games are currently at. An almost self aware, or even meta statement on the ridiculousness of itself is often implemented on new pieces. So really, anything can qualify as “top fashion “ because we’ve realized how subjective it is at its base.
