Sveta, thank you for all this wonderful instruction! My left foot is 25 cm long and 25.5 cm in girth. My right foot is 25 cm long and 26 cm in girth. What last size will be best? Do you recommend a separate last for each foot?

Two people have told me to use a heel to ball measurement. On a Brannock Device I’m an US 11.5 but when i measure my foot length i’m a size 11. Which last length should I use?

I would like to know how much would you add lengthwise to get the right length for the last. I noticed that the lasts of one size can be of different length probably because of a different brand. thank Kristine, you need shoe lasts 40. You need to narrow it little bit. Customize it as we do in Bespoke shoes :

I can tell you the size of a shoe last you need as we are talking here about making your own shoes- not buying shoes.
So you need shoe lasts size 39.5, but you need to make them wider till size 46. The only option to customize shoe last

My feet measurement is:
Length: 27,25cm;
Diagonal Width connecting the edges: 26,8cm.
Usually my shoes are 42-43 EU but, since I want to buy skates online, I need them to fit properly and from the 27,25cm length I get a 44 EU on the internet which doesn't make much sense, and It's not good for skating if they are oversized.

i an sorry i missed your live stream. my feet are too wide for standard measurements the toe is US size 10 but the width is truly off of the charts.

That is ok. You can do sandals without a shoe last or some horrible shoes (look &feel). The other option is to take a standard shoe last and customize it. To make shoe last yourself there is a great book by George Koleff- Last making book. look it up

My feet are not the same size. They range from 25cm to 25.7 long and 24.3 to 25cm wide. Left foot also has a neuroma so I want to make sure it is not too tight. What size last would you recommend?
I must have measured wrong because I wear a size 10 and the online charts would seem to want me to wear a size 8. There's no way.
Hello Christina, lets do it according to longest foot: 25.7 W;25= You are size 40 but the width is 8. That is very wide shoe last you need. I would suggest customizing one for you. Find more details about it here :

Right foot is 4 mm longer at 25.4 cm and 5mm more at the ball at 28.5 cm
I broke the right foot over 20 years ago, so it fits slightly different than my left.
Well. it's tricky. you size 39 , but according to the width you are wearing 47 :(.
Please, can you do a video on how to measure pulse size foot? For instance, some persons are size 42 by length but a size 42 last will not bring out their size because the upper part of their foot is way bigger than 42. How do you modify a shoe last to fit such a foot?
That is because your measurments don't fit into the standard size shoe lasts, it is very common. The only solution is what I showed in my latest video- you need to customize the shoe lasts to your measurments ( add some volume on the instep)
