    In this shoe making tutorial, I am sharing with you what basic tools and materials you need to have to get started your shoemaking learning.
    There are many useful shoe making tools that you can have making your shoes, but you really need only those to get started and make the shoes that you want to make.
    Many of you, dear friends, asked me what tools and materials you need to get started learning in my shoe making courses online.”Better to see once than hear a hundred times”, so I made for you a short video to show you all tools and materials I use to teach shoemaking in my courses and with which you can begin your shoe making education.

    Here is a list of shoe making tools and materials that you need to have to make your shoes:
    Shoe Last
    The Masking tape 5cm width to apply a shoe design and make a pattern
    Utility knife
    Cardboard
    Silver Pen
    Shoemaking tape OR simple Tailor measuring tape
    Cutting board
    Compasses
    Shoemaking knife
    Shoemaking pincers
    Shoemaking hammer
    Shoemaking rasp or drill dremel

    Sewing machine: Pfaff, Zinger, Brother,
    Husqvarna, Necchi
    Reinforcement tapes: 16 mm, 4 mm
    Steel shanks
    Two types of nails: 2 cm with a flat head
    & 0.9mm-1 cm
    Taxon board and shankboard
    Leather for soles: back part 4-5 mm thickness
    Leather for insoles: shoulders 3-4 mm thickness
    Nonwoven chemical material for stiffeners
    The cork
    Leather for the upper: calfskin 0.9-1.1 mm
    for the lining: calfskin, pigskin 0.9-1 mm

    Can you make a mold from someone's feet to make custom shoes? This would be helpful for people with high arches or uneven feet.

      You can make a custom shoe last, but it is expensive. The other option is to customize your shoe last. Check the Bespoke video on my channel

    The tools at 2:40....where did you get them? I can't seem to find anything like them online by searching "pattern making measurement tools" but maybe they're also called calipers or something? If you had a link to a specific shop that would be wonderful, but any info at all would be helpful! Thank you, this video is very useful.

    The knives are skives, designed to thin the edges of leather down to very thin indeed - which is a delicate art. The English skife came from a company which no longer exists, sadly.

      NO! One last for one size, for one heel height.

    Where do you usually get the midsole material?

      You should buy it in shops that sells material for shoe or textile industry components, for the back part, the "talonera" you use a type of paper fiber, with 1,5- 3,5 millimeters, and the other part is called nantex, a type of paper too, of iam not wrong it is make in China.

    sveta, I recieved your emails and I have been hesitant to start your course because I don't know where to buy supplies! maybe you can sell kits for begginers with those supplies and it will be another way to earn money for you!!
    I would greatly appreciate it if you can please do this and I will buy one asap! Tracking down all the supplies is difficult..:(
