Love the video! You two need too research Shangri-la down to Iceberg lake. You get to swim in an alpine lake (Shangri-la lake) & get a birds eye view of Iceberg Lake.
A great hike for sure. I did it last week. Last 1/4 mile was covered in snow but manageable. Was fortunate to see a mama grizz with cubs about 100 yards off the trail.
Thank you, we really appreciate that! Hopefully another chance for a September hike on this trail awaits 🍂🍁 Here's to a shared appreciation for these awesome lands ⛰👍
Nice meeting you two on the 4th at many glacier hotel! My girlfriend and I spoke to you on the balcony of the hotel. Your videos really helped us with our first trip to Glacier. Can’t wait to come back.
It was great meeting the two of you. It’s always great to bump into folks who enjoy the wilderness. You need to come back - there is so much to see and do - Montana cheers!
@@nolanventures473thanks! It may not have been the 4th when we saw you but it was around then. Anyway it was great meeting you two. Hope to bump into you again. Glacier was incredible.
Cool hike. It looks like it was also a bit cool temperature too. I love hiking on warm summer days when it’s overcast. It’s a welcome relief. Another great video with epic scenery.
The cloud cover made for cooler temps which was an added bonus 👍 The icebergs were substantial in size making it a very cool experience at the lake. Thank you, much appreciated ⛰
I love y'alls videos! Thank you for such beautiful videos! I know pictures don't do it justice but you're videos does a gorgeous job! My family is going to glacier national Park the last week of July! We are from Alabama! I would love to know what type of camera you are using to get such beautiful video?
Thank you so much. The last part of July is a great time to be here. We have always used GoPros for our videos. Durable and does not matter when we drop them in creeks or lakes or if it gets rained on. We are currently using the GoPro 12 black but have used the 7 and 11 in past videos. Enjoy Glacier Country and travel safely.
Love your videos. Kim...needing girl gear advice!!! Help please! What brand is your backpack? Looking for one that is light and not to big (for women). I noticed y'all are just wearing 'trail shoes' vs hiking boots. I prefer trail shoes too. Can't tell what brand you have. Any recs? I have Merrell right now but think I might want something with a thicker sole like what you were wearing. Trek poles...can you give me a recommendation? I've never used them before but think I'll try them for Glacier. Any other gear advice? We hike a LOT but usually not such long hikes like we plan to do in Glacier. So I need advice!!! Thank you!!!
The Hoka Stinson 7 trail shoe is what we currently wear for the extra cushion and comfort on longer hikes, however I have had good luck with Nike trail shoes also. The womens Gregory pack has been comfortable and durable. It has seen LOTS of miles 😆 In my opinion trekking poles are a must, especially for downhill. I use kelty brand and they have been great! Using them reduces strain on knees and hips which seems to reduce fatigue for me. Hope this was helpful 👍 Here's to enjoying the wilderness ⛰
@@kimberlynolan2745 Thank you! I'll check those out! Very helpful! Another question...do you think I would need pants hiking in Glacier in late July/early Aug? I always see you in shorts but other videos I see women wearing pants. I personally don't like to hike in pants but I don't want to be cold. So I'm going to bring some leggings. But those aren't easy to get off if it's too warm. Not sure what to do on that. Do you wear shorts and layer with shirts and jackets for the most part? I'm 55 and in good shape, physically active. Have been doing extra walking beyond my normal exercise routine, adding incline on the treadmill, etc. Super excited but this trip is so hard to plan.
Not open all the way to grinnell glacier and upper grinnell lake as of yet - no way to know for sure when. But soon…maybe? You can go part way and it is pretty cool - just don’t go past the closure. Not safe and fines 💰.
@@nolanventures473 ohhh. Good to know. I will arrive with my wife there next Saturday. Our initial target was the Grinnell, however I guess we will have to try other options, like the Iceberg Lake, Ptarmigan Lake or Avalanche Lake. 🙏🏻🙏🏻. Any other suggestions?
Yes, the trail to Grinnell Glacier is still closed due to snow hazard and unsafe conditions. The hard closure is well marked; it's worth a hike only up to that hard closure point in our opinion for views above lower Grinnell lake....it's beautiful.
Double check when you get there. It could be open by then. Iceberg is a great one. Scenic Point trail in two medicine is fantastic as well and is open - we have done it several times this year. Cheers.
I have to admit, I hike like a girl 😆😂 Lol Out of necessity though, my hats are velcro and lose adhesiveness with age. It's mostly for backup purposes or if the need for a ponytail arises 😆👍👊⛰ It's a "girly" answer but there you go.
Snow, ice, flowers, beautiful mountains, clear skies and birds chirping. Everything you could ever want.
So true!
All that you mentioned and then some. It truly is amazing. Thank you!
Beautiful hike thank you guys so much for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Fantastic hike! Thank you. 🇺🇸
Glad you enjoyed it!
A remarkable trail that continues to amaze ⛰ Blessed with a great day in the Many Glacier area ❤
You are right about that. 👊🏻🤠
Love the double mirror reflection off the lake … stunning photography.
Many thanks!
Awesome video as always. I really enjoyed seeing the bear grass when I was there. Happy 4th guys 🇺🇸
Thanks 👍 same to you!
We too were impressed with the bear grass. This trail boasts something awesome along every step it seems ⛰ Thank you for the comment!
Lots of good memories from that hike. I saw bear on that hike one time. It never gets old seeing it again.
It is a great hike. Thanks for sharing your experience. Enjoy the wilds!
Agreed! It's one of those places that is repeatedly impressive and entertaining. Here's to continuing to enjoy the wilderness ⛰👍 Thank you!

This is awesome. Lost of icebergs on the 4th of July! 🇺🇸 FREEDOM!

Live free baby🇺🇸
What a great way to spend the 4th on July. Thanks.
Agreed 🇺🇸👍
My wife and I really enjoy watching your videos Scott! We have 10 days in the park starting September 1 and we can’t wait!
That is awesome! Thank you and have a great time in Glacier Country!
That's fantastic! One of the best places on earth ⛰ Here's to enjoying the wilderness, and thank you, much appreciated!
So awesome! We really wanted to do this hike in September, 2022, but the bears had other ideas. One day! Love all your videos!!
They do close that area due to bears frequently. It’s one of the great shorter hikes in the park. Hope you can get to it soon - cheers!

Thank you again. It is a great place! Cheers.
Saw your comment on All Trails app. Planning to make this hike in 3 weeks!
Thanks for letting us know that! Enjoy your time in Glacier Country. 👍

Roll Tide! enjoy!
Thank you so much ! Maybe we will see y'all on the mountain top!❤
How many miles in was it to the Ptarmigan Creek point of the trail??
Maybe like 2.5 miles-ish. You can check on all-trails. That is a great spot. Enjoy the wilderness.

How long was the hike?
11 miles out and back with about 1500 feet of elevation gain.
Did you see many people? Why does Kimberly always have an extra hat attached to her pack; I see it in of your videos.
We start way early so we don’t see to many on the way out…but more on the way back.
