    Lots of great advice Jon. I applied EVO ONE outside and ran into no issues at all - definitely possible to do, not a surprise as Gyeon have designed them to be outside friendly.

    Jon, last Sunday I decided to apply Gyeon Mohs to my new car because there was no rain in the forecast (I live in south Florida in the U.S. and don't have garage access). I coated the car and two hours later I applied a layer of Gyeon Cure. Three hours later a lone rain cloud dumped a lot of water on the car. I was afraid to go outside to look, fearing that the coating was ruined. But when I checked, most of the rain had been shed off the car and tiny beads of water were on the flat portions. I used my air blower to remove the remaining water and everything seemed to be good. I haven't washed the car yet, waiting another day or two before that happens. I was shocked to see that the coating had cured enough to withstand the rain after only five hours.

      i think you can about 90-95% cure in 1-2 hours. but its vulnerable to water spotting at that point typically so I think putting cure on was a good idea.

    I use / sell the gyeon evo line , cancoat , one and mohs. I work out side under a 10 x 20 shelterlogic. I go over the coatings with cure no matter the weather forecast. What may be nice weather where I am may not be 20 miles away the next day . Just a habit I got into . Costs a little more but I feel it's well spent for peace of mind.

    I have applied a coating outside (albeit under a pop up awning) and found it fine, and other times have had (not applying ceramic) all sorts of contaminants thrown up on the vehicle with cars going past. My best advice would be to assess, and try to control your conditions if possible. I would also say that after working with VERY experienced people that you do need optimum conditions (inside) if you are to get the claimed durability from them

      "Well said", it's my physio too, far more beneficial than photocopy moves handed out by a 3-letter national organisation. I [we] enjoy the obsessive side in addition to the looking outside later at your toil. I'd say fine if you’re on a 2-year PCP and chuck the car back, occasionally scrub a yellow sponge on every 6 weeks but for others who aren’t that interested in bottle claims but read their paint and water behaviour to judge when they can have their next session, compare their next product, that is their passion. Ultimately until the Gretas' dictate cars have even thinner clear than supplied now, we'll keep going until having a coat is a factory option to save the clear washing through to base on its first contact wash.

      The main reasons for always coating my paint work rather than using short term products are. 1 a good coating will be more resistant to bird shit etching or waterspotting and either occurs the etching is most likely only going to be in the coating which can be polished and reapplied unlike clear coat. 2 Any wash related lightly scratches will likely not have made it into the clear and instead are just in the coating which can be polished. 3 when deep scratches do occur, I like the idea that the coating will take some of that scratch.

    • @TsLeng
      @TsLeng 2 роки тому

      @@KiranPatel-fk1pg you want PPF ... Not something out of a tub or bottle. Nothing out of a tub or bottle will take scratches.
      Bird poo can be washed off easily. Most, you don't even need to touch it, just running water. Leaving bird poo on for long also contradict your OCD on paint protection.
      Any decent spray sealant will last 2-3 months. Enough until the next wash when it can be topped up. Once or twice a year polish, then a top layer is what most people need to achieve the nice look.
      Just pointing out your inconsistencies where you are absolutely anal about protection but worry about bird poo really .

    • @KiranPatel-fk1pg
      @KiranPatel-fk1pg 2 роки тому

      @@TsLeng Leaving bird poo on paint for a long enough time can most definitely etch the paint, a coating stops this. No spray product will. This is a fact. Ceramic coatings also add the tiniest amount of protection meaning that very very minor scratches are taken by the coating and not your clear. Hence many people even use a fine polish to polish there coating once it becomes scratched.

    Great video. I just coated my car with Pure Evo and found the buff to be grabby. Although the temperature was cool (22C) it was humid. Not sure if that contributed. I think that Gyeon saying "no rush" to buffing it off does the user a disservice since I was torn between making sure that it was properly cured and avoiding wipe-off struggle. In any event, the car looks glossy and I'm pleased with the result. Will probably use MOHS next time.

What happened to change your mind? Looking forward to the Can Coat test. Do you use a resin-based filtered water system for the final rinse? If not, have you tested these systems? I am thinking of getting one of these systems and did a test by misting Halfords deionised water onto a red hot panel and left it for an hour in the sun - water disappeared and left no streaks or water spots - brilliant!
