The first gig I saw after several cancer operations, and my favourite song by them. It always made me feel ALIVE to hear those bass notes, and still does
i like to comment in this kind of videos because we all have the same vision about The Cure, no fights between us and that vision is The Cure is the best band of our life ever

What I love so much about this song is not just the melancholy feel of it, but how hypnotic those continuous chords and notes are. Beautiful track and one of my all time favorites
Cette chanson fait parti de ma préférée du groupe best ever! Une mélancolie et une mélodie qui vient me toucher droit au coeur...plus de trente ans après la sortie de cette album! Special feeling! Un vrai génie ce Robert Smith!
47 years old and been a massive Cure fan since my pre teen years and this song still rocks just as hard now as ever.. feel so blessed to have seen the Cure live several times..hoping to have a chance to take my 17 year old to experience this genius live !
This takes me back 30 years when I first saw them. Such a great era in music. It would be nice to see the classic lineup one last time with Lol Tolhurst, Boris Williams, and Pearl Thompson. With everyone playing classic Fender and Gretsch instruments. Alas we can never go home again.
I HAVE TO GO TO A LIVE CONCERT! I MUST DO IT! I never saw them live but when I get the chance to see them I will take it. The cure was my first music ever in my life. The first cassette that I held in my hands was boys don't cry at the age of 6 in '89. And I loved it. I heard it again and again and again. I listened to it to go sleeping in the night. I have to see them live in my life. The cure is one of the most beautiful bands in the world.
For sure.Nothing compares the feelings that flourish when you are listening live and you realise you are sharing the same place at the same time with them and thousands of people enjoying and living the same as you. Incredible. Do it.
livin' in chains I queued overnight to get tickets to see them play a secret gig in Nottingham around the time of mixed up. It was a tiny venue and incredible.
I hope you do get to see them live, they are incredible. I have seen them almost every time they have played Dallas since the 80s and they always blow me away.
I was never a Cure fan but in recent months their music and live performances have been growing on me. The Rolling Stones are another band I "get" also. I continue to grow more intelligent as I age
IMO, the Entreat version is my favorite, hands down. The sped up tempo by Boris is absolutely jaw dropping. It just adds a whole new dimension to the song. Boris is just a genius on drums. I even get a kick out of the crowd as they are seemingly trying to comprehend the level of brilliance that they just witnessed.
I would credit Porl and Boris in particular for how excellent that version is, for the most part. Porl's live parts during the Disintegration and Wish era were just incredible, a perfect balance between what the song originally had and his trademark frenetic guitar-based "barely organized chaos".
This song is just badass. From start to finish it's just balls to the wall energy and emotion and it just doesn't stop. And I like Robert's delivery here. It's a bit more melancholy than the album version and adds a bit of intimacy to it that typically isn't there. The album version is kinda rage and anger, this is more reflective and sad. Love em both.
Timeless real greats artists have created timeless masterpieces , evrthg with no ever doubt this times and foreve show us that the Cure are the greatest band in the world in all the ways and fotever
5:45 bless this man. You can tell each song really resonates with him all these years later. How emotional they are to play for him. I hope Bob outlives us all!
Some things or experiences also take on entirely different levels of meaning as you grow older. Might be one of those cases. I know some of their songs certainly affect me a lot more now than they affected me before (and it's not like they were lacking in that department to begin with).

This song transforms me to another place, my youth, when, so fondly, you were not only obsessed with a song but also simply a band, The Cure, and everything it encompassed...memories...Disinegration quite possibly the greatest album ever!!

“But I never said I would stay to the end “I knew I would leave you and fame isn't everything...” He really pours it all out in these lyrics. 💝Robert Smith
Totally agree ! Although its played slower these days, they've finally improved the snare drum sound , adding more reverb and raising the keyboards in the mix....just like in 89 /90
I'm old and have leukemia.

Thanx for all your awesome tunes!

And prayers for rain

Same here - I was lucky to have seen them in Los Angeles in 1986. Still one of my favorite bands, along with Queen!
Agree, also Prayers for Rain & From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea.
Wow has it been that many years?

Always been my favourite band, and always respected Robert Smith’s commitment to NOT conforming.

Incredible Bass riff from Mr Gallup. A masterpiece in songwriting from Mr Smith.
Love Simon...he is.into it.😍
Love the bass line!

That "grinding" bassline! Love the entire thing, but that bass!!! 🤎🤎🤎🙃
This trucker had played this song on loop from Salinas, CA to da Bronx, NY and back...more than a few times
I can never get enough of this song no matter how many times i've heard it. Robert Smith's voice is a fine wine.
Best version of Disintrgration in my opinion. 62 and every word screams my life

My favourite Cure track and my favourite live version. Such intensity. Wow.
right? brought tears to my eyes. how he can keep bringing the emotion... over and over and over... but still mean it? you said it. wow.
Brian McG My go to song, so bloody good.
Listen this version Live Cure 2008 Paris. So different and beautiful to. The bass is more intense.
Do yourself a favour and go listen Wembley Disintegration Tour.
No one compares. Disintegration is one of the top three albums ever! God Bless Robert and may he play til the end!
Not find me arguing with you there!
DISINTEGRATION IS BY FAR THE BEST CURE RECORD EVER!!!
idk pornography, seventeen seconds and faith are a lot better in my opinion
Disintegration was one their most underrated albums, yet I personally believe it was their best, especially in terms of the lyrics
From Mexico to Argentina to Japan to Russia to USA to England....Cure fans are the best. And we love Robert and company.

The Sound of my Life . Thank you for the sound out of your Soul 🫠
I'm so glad I got to grow up listening to these guys, pretty amazing
Oh, I miss the kiss of treachery
The shameless kiss of vanity
The soft and the black and the velvety
Up tight against the side of me
And mouth and eyes and heart all bleed
And run in thickening streams of greed
As bit by bit it starts the need
To just let go my party piece
I miss the kiss of treachery
The aching kiss before I feed
The stench of a love for a younger meat
And the sound that it makes when it cuts in deep
The holding up on bended knees
The addiction of duplicities
As bit by bit it starts the need
To just let go my party piece
But I never said I would stay to the end
So I leave you with babies and hoping for frequency
Screaming like this in the hope of the secrecy
Screaming me over and over and over
I leave you with photographs, pictures of trickery
Stains on the carpet and stains on the scenery
Songs about happiness murmured in dreams
When we both of us knew how the ending would be
So it's all come back round to breaking apart again
Breaking apart like I'm made up of glass again
Making it up behind my back again
Holding my breath for the fear of sleep again
Holding it up behind my head again
Cut in deep to the heart of the bone again
Round and round and round and it's coming apart again
Over and over and over
And now that I know that I'm breaking to pieces
I'll pull out my heart and I'll feed it to anyone
I'm crying for sympathy, crocodiles cry
For the love of the crowd
And the three cheers from everyone
Dropping through sky
Through the glass of the roof
Through the roof of your mouth
Through the mouth of your eye
Through the eye of the needle
It's easier for me to get closer to Heaven
Than ever feel whole again
But I never said I would stay to the end
I knew I would leave you and fame isn't everything
Screaming like this in the hope of sincerity
Screaming it's over and over and over
I leave you with photographs, pictures of trickery
Stains on the carpet and stains on the memory
Songs about happiness murmured in dreams
When we both of us knew how the end always is
How the end always is
How the end always is
How the end always is
How the end always is
How the end always is
Many thanks!

The best recorded live version since the one from Entreat album. I like Robert's vocals here.
Totally agree ! Although its played slower these days, they've finally improved the snare drum sound , adding more reverb and raising the keyboards in the mix....just like in 89 /90
definitely. the tentative warble in his pitch here is trippy as fk. how he can still put intense soul into every note is mind blowing.
Prefiero la versión de Trilogy con Perry en la guitarra.
I thought the Trilogy version was the best live version.

lovely , Robert uses his Jazz master guitar for this song
The greatest band with the greatest song on this freaking planet!
Magnifique Robert comme toujours...❤
This song is one of the best cure songs ever !!! Disintegration was a great album apart from head on the door that's number 1 in my book 👍
Disintegration…. I will love you forever 🖤 there’s no other song in the whole wide world
