I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze with 1.4L engine it has 180,000 mile. I have been getting a P0420 code. I would go away and come back. I fixed it just by disconnecting the Negative side on the battery 1st. Now find the computer it’s on the side where the battery is. It’s has 3 connectors on it. I disconnected all 3 connectors and cleaned each side male and female connector with CRC 05103 QD Electronic Cleaner. Let it dry 15 minutes. I plugged all 3 back in. I installed negative battery cable. I started and drove the car 50 miles. It never came back.

Could definitely be a MAF sensor, especially if you are getting hesitations. Another thing to check with hesitations is your spark plugs and the coil on plug (cop) unit on top of the engine. One of the cops went out and caused misfiring and hesitations on our Trax.

I just got this code after a car wash I have a 2015 Encore how to I check the exhaust connection ? I’ve only had what seems like a worn engine mount which could break the exhaust mount?
You would have to look under the vehicle and follow the exhaust out from the engine going back. You will see a piece of flex pipe and it is that part that can rust away and start cracking, letting some exhaust out before it gets to the oxygen sensor. If you had a broken mount, it would definitely put extra pressure on that connection.
If it helps, Federal emissions laws require carmakers to cover the catalytic converter and PCM/ECM (powertrain or electronic control module) under warranty for eight years or 80,000 miles, whichever comes first. The dealer replaced mine for free no questions asked on my 7 year old Cruze with 72k miles.

Hi there. You are correct where the catalytic converters are. The first one is connected directly to the exhaust manifold. On these engines the exhaust manifold is on the front (same side as the intake). To see the top side you need to remove the air intake tubing. For the second converter, it comes immediately after the flex tube piping. Good luck on the diagnosis!
Yes there was a crack in the flex pipe portion letting exhaust escape before it got to the second oxygen sensor. Put the new one on and all was good again.

2012 Cruze, I’m hoping this is my fix. I’m thinking maybe just delete all of this and add an aftermarket exhaust. I imagine it’s going to be around the same price
If it's just the pipe it will cost you much less than an aftermarket exhaust to delete the cats and then pay for the tune. That said, if you have the money it's a great direction to go in. Only issue would be if you are in a state/province that does smog testing. You won't pass without working cats.
Must likely would have that telltale black carbon trail @ the leak.
my 2014 trax has 311,000 km now, my problem is while I'm driving the turbo shuts down, reset code and it works again, it could be 1day or weeks then it does the same, just random times, any help would be appreciated
There's a line 30 part in the turbo u can change and try
Just got the flex pipe on my 2016 chevy trax LT
Hope it fixes your issue!
Did it fix the issue
If the flex is downstream of the sensor makes no difference if it's upstream most definitely effects 02 sensors.
This flex pipe in this instance is directly between the upstream and downstream sensors so makes a huge difference.
These turbos go bad also and gunk up the cat.
