    You should get a tiny Christmas tree and hang 12 tiny socks on it for the twelve days of Christmas this year! And now that I’ve said it, I think I might have to give that a try. So cute!

    Hi Emily! Loved to hear your enthusiasm talking about the socks. Congratulations on your 24 socks year and on your own design. My favourites are the Christmas ones and your daughter's color work and white.

    I love your demographics on your sock knitting. As a Demographics Coordinator, it made my heart happy. I love sock parades anyway because it gives me ideas and makes me happy, seeing what others are doing. Only two people in my Sit & Knit group knit socks. The Coco collection is beautiful! I wish I could have bought the 100 gram collection, but got the minis instead. I'm gonna sound like an old lady, but I love how young people knit for a few months and start designing. It's a fearless act and I appreciate how brave it is to put your designs out in the world.

      It was so interesting to look back at my demographics, I'm glad you enjoyed them! I'm also looking forward to seeing how those demographics differ in another year. Designing is such a different process than following someone else's patterns, it really stretches me as a maker!

    Thanks for this! So inspirational. I was able to solve the second sock syndrome by knitting two socks at once on two circular needles. Cat Bordhi got me into that and now I always make two at once. Best wishes.

      I definitely need to try 2 at a time! I’m pretty good about finishing both socks but it would be really nice to finish both at once and just be done

    Enjoyed this video. Great job. I'm a newish sock knitter. So far, only vanilla socks. Cuff down and heel flap/gusset. Your socks look fab! And you're way more adventurous, trying colorwork, stitches beyond stockinette, and different heels. I noted you've used 9-inch circulars. Have you tried other methods such as Magic Loop, DPNs, flexible DPNs etc.? You have to try Premier Fruits sock yarn for the baby. Super cute for summer.

      Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! It's been really fun to experiment and try new things, and socks are great ways to stretch my knitting skills since they are such small projects. You can definitely do it! I've used 9-inch circulars and magic loop, but I haven't done the other methods. I get frustrated casting on with DPNs, but my goal this summer is to conquer them and get more comfortable with them! Thanks for the sock yarn recommendation, I've seen them a little bit but definitely need to try that yarn!

    Great video, love all of your socks. Another idea for the tiny socks: make lots of them from scraps of socks that you've knit and string into a garland on a crochet chain! How cute and personal would that be?

    Good point for toe up is you can try them on.

      That is true! I like to use a magic loop needle though so I can still get a cuff down sock on to try part way through knitting. Being able to try on a sock helps so much with the fit!

    Next baby?! Is there something you're not telling us? :) Lovely socks, I especially like the green Christmas ones. If you're interested, there is a Rav group that runs June-August, I think, called Summer of Socks. I was planning to knit a bunch of socks this summer, but I scaled back when I saw a friend's baby announcement, cuz that little un needs a blanket :)

      No baby! I just know we’ll likely have another in the future 😊 the Christmas ones are some of my favorites! I’ll have to look into that Rav group. There are tons of sock knitalong this time of year!

    Thanks so much for your very fast response. I truly appreciate that. I did see the company that produced the yarn but I was wondering if you knew the names of the individual skeins. Love the colors and the way they knitted up. Looked on Daisy Yarn Co but couldn’t find those specific yarns. No worries if you don’t have that info. I’m sure I will have many choices. Love the Barby color line.

    • @crowchetcreations4888
      @crowchetcreations4888  9 місяців тому

      The colors I had from Daisy Stitch Co were unlabeled mystery skeins unfortunately! So they were probably just one of a kind colorways. I wish you could still get them!

    I am a crocheter and I am going to try Jack and Jill’s sock. I am on the Internet really really bad and I am wanting to net my very first pair of socks and I wrote down all of your socks, so which one do you think I should start with now that you’ve done a year of vanilla sucks which vanilla Sach should I start with trying to get up my nerve to do it? Which one should I do? Do you think?

      If you want to knit your first pair of socks, I would recommend Summer Lee's I'm So Basic Socks. It's FREE and the pattern download includes a ton of information about the math behind sock knitting, getting a good fit, the anatomy of a sock, etc. I think it's a great reference for delving into socks!
