THIS is the one I've been waiting for!! Coincidently, we had a giant hornet nest fall right in front of our gate, from the rains yesterday. We had to call the Poy-Yai-Baan (village chief,) whose friend came out in a space suit and blow torched it where it sat. They were happy to do it since it yields the grubs for that Nam Prik you ate here. My wife just came back with some of the (slightly toasted) nest and will give it to her sister to make Nam Prik Tdaw. My wife has also been out picking some of the Hed Hom and Hed Lom mushrooms that you were eating in that Nam PriK Hed. That slice of pickled stuff you weren't sure of is that big bean that you see at the top of trees around here. In Lanna; Ballee Mai. That leaf that "tastes just like Liquorish" IS Liquorish! We have some growing in back. I love it with Laarb, my wife is like Li, and doesn't. Love this place! this is were I would take visiting guests to try the "real deal!" Your hand writing is excellent too! So great! Thanks!!

Incredibly resourceful, Thais are...The Giant Asian Hornet nest have been located and destroyed as they are invasive and don't have any natural predators as they hunt our Invaluable Honey Bee's and decimates them ...so an interesting use ..Thank you for the share Ms Li & Joel ...Have a Blessed Week🙏🙏
Very interesting fact Billy. I thought all Hornets and the Bee family are friends of the land as they help pollinate flowers and fruits while they hunt for nectar.
@@manowerapitiya1471 based on the “ news” these Hornets are often known in the Pacific Northwest as Murder Hornets.. they are a recent migrator here that are slowly coming north..Canadian and USA are working on eradicating them as any nests are found

This is quite an amazing message, I did not know about this ingredient being popular in Mexico :-) but I love it! That is super adventurous, it is quite a unique ingredient for sure ha ha… The first time I had something like this was in North East Thailand. Joel.. I've noticed that chefs in Northern Thailand use alot of smoked peppers and various smoked vegatables in a variety of applications. Curious, is that use of smoked items indicative of only Northern Thailand or is used throughout all provinces. Chef Bank is amazing..

Barbecue at his house!!!) - Yes the thing about northern Thailand food is all of the smoke. The dry stuff, and the smoke, it’s how they keep things from spoiling in these damp mid altitude environments. It’s quite different as you know, appear in the often soggy rainy Misty Hills, quite different from the low lands of Central Thailand :-)
Hi guys 🤗🙏❤️. Hugs and blessings! Loved the video as always. Most of the food looked great besides the goggas (bugs) 🤣. Apart from the icky factor I'm allergic to bees so would be a bit scared to eat hornets. Those mushrooms fascinate me, so many varieties abroad we don't find here. I'm pretty adventurous with food but particular about what bugs I'll eat 🤣. I don't mind crispy crickets or flying ants . Don't know the actual word for those, they're called Rysmiere in Afrikaans, they come out after the rains. I've been learning about so many new wild greens that I've been incorporating them into every meal I make. Made the most devine pasta last night with wild mustard greens pesto and wilted lamb's Quarters. Vegan and devine! Love your chilli tolerance Joel. I also love lemon, meat ,greens and sour foods so I think yourself and Li would enjoy my cooking 🤗. Much love ❤️

Tripe / Menudo (Intestines) is very special in the Mexican diet. We love the soup. Usually made only on the Weekends. Interesting food choice in Chef Bank's Restaurant . 🙏

This is quite an amazing message, I did not know about this ingredient being popular in Mexico :-) but I love it! That is super adventurous, it is quite a unique ingredient for sure ha ha… The first time I had something like this was in North East Thailand. Hey Paul! Yes, I registered it, but here (besides the insurance) there are only the no-fly zones. If you're out of those, and not over people, then its all good. But in CM city actually its very difficult - you might notice that I have no footage at all in the actual city. Its almost impossible

Joel.. I've noticed that chefs in Northern Thailand use alot of smoked peppers and various smoked vegatables in a variety of applications. Curious, is that use of smoked items indicative of only Northern Thailand or is used throughout all provinces. Chef Bank is amazing..
A lot of things to cheers, thanks for the good words about chef bank (I hope to make another video with my friend bank, working as a chef :-), next week. Barbecue at his house!!!) - Yes the thing about northern Thailand food is all of the smoke. The dry stuff, and the smoke, it’s how they keep things from spoiling in these damp mid altitude environments. It’s quite different as you know, appear in the often soggy rainy Misty Hills, quite different from the low lands of Central Thailand :-)

Hi guys 🤗🙏❤️. Hugs and blessings! Loved the video as always. Most of the food looked great besides the goggas (bugs) 🤣. Apart from the icky factor I'm allergic to bees so would be a bit scared to eat hornets. Those mushrooms fascinate me, so many varieties abroad we don't find here. I'm pretty adventurous with food but particular about what bugs I'll eat 🤣. I don't mind crispy crickets or flying ants . Don't know the actual word for those, they're called Rysmiere in Afrikaans, they come out after the rains. I've been learning about so many new wild greens that I've been incorporating them into every meal I make. Made the most devine pasta last night with wild mustard greens pesto and wilted lamb's Quarters. Vegan and devine! Love your chilli tolerance Joel. I also love lemon, meat ,greens and sour foods so I think yourself and Li would enjoy my cooking 🤗. Much love ❤️

Joel-Li, Eating Hornets' must be like eating Shrimp? If you are allergic to shell fish is it out of bounds? you may have to take an Antihistamine 🍤 . Tripe / Menudo (Intestines) is very special in the Mexican diet. We love the soup. Usually made only on the Weekends. Interesting food choice in Chef Bank's Restaurant . 🙏

@@maxf3253 Sea and Lagoon cockroaches are Crabs. They eat all the dead fish and garbage at the bottom of the water, that's why they taste good 😂. Shrimps don't live at the bottom.
