  • Check out our full tech REVIEW the EUFY VIDEO DOORBELL 2K. In this video we take a close look at the features, pricing, and ease of installation of this home security eufy doorbell to help you decide if this one might be good for you. Eufy is a decent contender for the Ring Video Doorbell Pro, Nest Hello doorbell, Arlo doorbell, and Anker doorbell in the market of video doorbells and wireless security cameras. The Two Nerd-E Families have been using this doorbell for a month now and wanted to give you a quick look at what we have learned so far and what we love or dislike about it. We will be posting more "Battle of the Doorbells" videos in coming weeks where we will compare and contrast these video doorbells and let you decide the best video doorbell 2020.
    Both the Ring Video Doorbell Pro and the Nest Hello Video Doorbell are compatible with the Google and Amazon Alexa smart home voice assistants, and they work with several other smart home devices as well. In our video we describe which of these doorbells are compatible with the Google Home Hub and the Amazon Echo Show. When looking for smart home security solutions, keep both of these doorbells in mind and check out all of the amazing home security system devices that integrate with these doorbells.

    Great video. I'm thinking to get the battery version as I don't have wires but I'm not sure how integrated it is with google as I have everything google at home and would like to operate it via the google assistant.

      @Chris, thanks for checking out our video. There is some integration with Google and I'm the same exact way - I have Google products throughout my home, but prefer the Ring security over the Nest products. Ring was acquired by Amazon last year and they are big competitors with Google products, so you won't find any easy integration solutions. However, look into IFTTT (if this then that) protocol where you can setup some ad hoc tasks to arm and disarm using voice commands via Google Mini's for example, or show Ring video on certain devices around your home. We may post a video on how to do some of this at a later date.

    Excellent Video! Kudos to you for doing such a painstaking detailed video. It helped me practically as to what areas it is good at and what areas it is not. I was knocking my head on which camera I should go with (arlo vs ring vs nest vs eufy vs wyze). Unavailability of remote storage option is really a bummer. Arlo camera has a high latency. So, I am thinking of getting the ring camera.
    Again, thanks for the detailed video. I gave you thumbs up in this video and subscribed 🙂

      @Kris Rocker thanks for watching our video and leaving these comments. We agree with your sentiments and probably prefer the Ring over the Eufy, but everyone prefers certain features over others. Thanks again!

    Thanks for the guide! As someone who is not an electrician and have no experience in wiring, would you say this is noob friendly enough to do yourself? Just dont want to cause some electrical damage lol.
    Also would you say these would be easy to rip off the wall if someone wanted to steal?

      @Red thanks for your question. Wiring the video doorbell is super simple for most anyone and is just two low voltage wires (won't shock you or cause fire damage to home, etc.) and doesn't even matter which wire connects to which terminal/screw on the back of the doorbell.
      These aren't as easy as you would think to steal off the front of the house and most brand name doorbells like Eufy, Ring, and Nest all have a special tool to install/remove it rather than just needing a standard screwdriver. I know Ring will even replace it for free if you have a police report and are subscribed to their cloud services at the time of the theft.

    Thanks for the review! Did you ever figure out why it records at 10 fps instead of 15? Is this on purpose or has it been corrected in firmware updates? The battery operated one works at 15.

      We'll have to check this and circle back. We did report this to our contacts at Eufy so they could log as feedback with their engineer team.

      @@TwoNerdEFamilies Thanks man. I'm gonna order one of them tomorrow and I still can't decide... I like storage inside the house but I think the wired is smoother and quicker.

    So can you just bypass (remove) your existing chime altogether?

    • @TwoNerdEFamilies
      @TwoNerdEFamilies  3 роки тому

      Yes, this is possible as Eufy comes with it's own chime that plugs into a power outlet and connects to the doorbell wirelessly. You'll just need to make sure the power supply continues on to the doorbell when disconnecting the original chime.

      @Paul Lazzara, according to the responses to this question on Eufy's website, you can share the doorbell device with other people/phones, but with limited settings available to them. Only the primary app/user will have full features and controls. Thanks for checking out our video!

    Has Eufy contacted you guys about the dual audio record problem when answering the doorbell ring? Are they working on a fix?

    • @TwoNerdEFamilies
      @TwoNerdEFamilies  4 роки тому +2

      @Stephen Hogan thanks for checking out our video and for posting your question. We have just gone back to Eufy with our findings after our review and are awaiting their response. We will keep you posted on what we hear back. I hope this is just a bug that they can quickly resolve and push out remotely as a firmware update.

    Does Eufy replace your stolen doorbell for free like Ring does? Does Eufy Yearly Cloud Service also include Replacement of any Cam or Door bell that goes bad and stops working as long as you are paying the Yearly $100 Fee? This is what is going to determine my Purchase from Eufy. that Yearly $100 from ring covers cloud recording and equipment replacement and also if stolen. Not sure Eufy offers that.
    Also Ring Doorbell or Camera is useless once it is stolen because it cannot be activated. so that discourages people from stealing doorbells or cameras for resale. I hope Eufy disables their reported stolen Equipment as well, otherwise Eufy is not a good option and should be sued for reactivating stolen equipment for the sole purpose of a Subscription or Money.

      This post on Eufy community website discusses this a bit. Makes sense with a less expensive product and no monthly subscription fees which you have to be paying to Ring in order to have such protections:
