These reviews are great, your the only person I have found that is testing the same things I am looking for in an easy to follow way. Thanks very much for your work!
Great review! Can I ask (in a nutshell) what are your main reasons with going with the Ring Pro vs the Eufy? Thanks for your time and keep up the great work!!!
LifeHackster, you are the UA-cam Review Sensei/Kaiser/Master. I had watched someone else's review and of course I had to come check out your POV review and you make it all clear in the end. As good this Eufy doorbell looks to be, once checking out your review, then I decided it is not worth it at all. Thanks for what you do and how you do it. ✌️
Love the installation , app features and the product testing part of the video. Best installation video on UA-cam. I bought the 2 k wired doorbell with 32 GB on board storage. Thanks for letting me that there is a night vision option, along with motion detection sensitivity and the intercom feature. I feel confident to install my Eufy doorbell now.
I am here to address some of the problems you have with this doorbell. 1. Yes, the doorbell does stop recording when you answer the doorbell 2. My doorbell records at 15fps. 3. The video that I downloaded from the doorbell is n 2k resolution. 4. When motion is detected, the doorbell will record until the motion is stopped, or when you answer the notification and view the live recording. Mine is running on firmware version: 2.155 I received this doorbell for free, I will upload my review after I am done testing it. I love your video style! I am one of your subscribers now!
I've been cautiously excited about this product. I hope they fix the bugs. If they do, I'll be a customer but only AFTER Homekit compatibility is rolled out.
I just installed my new Eufy 2K video doorbell-without a single hiccup. The video quality is very good. I will do the same test as you did: download the “2K” video and check the actual resolution. I agree, if Eufy advertises 2K, we should have the option to experience 2K in all settings. So far, I’m impressed with the sturdy construction. I do wish, however, that not only the back mounting plate, but the angled plate was also made of metal.
Great video. informative. I am close to buying this doorbell but the issues you mentioned worry me. LifeHacker are you or anyone aware if these issues have been addressed and sorted by Eufy on a software/firmware level? Have things improved since you posted the video overall? Thank you in advance
God bless you. Very good review as usual. Many Thanks. I have several units of ring doorbell 2 and it is not recording colored videos under good lighting at night and WiFi conditions . Is this natural or the devices are defected? Thank you
LifeHackster I have 14 units Ring products around the house two of them original Ring doorbell; I’m using these two units as security cameras. I noticed that they are recording colored videos when the adjacent floodlights are on. Then the ring 2 question crosses my mind and began the search to get solid answer. I began to test them side by side with the pro and with the original. One of them records colored videos. I tested them in dark big room and I put the light on (plenty of light) they recorded black and white. When I reduced the light to 1/3 they recorded colored videos. I have leant a lot from you. Many thanks.
Hi LifeHackster just started using your reviews. They are great! Question: of the three (Ring Pro, Nest Hello, and Eufy) video doorbells which one did you personally like the best and why? Tks
The Chime pairs to the doorbell? that means the chime has to be in range? I have this question because the doorbell will be quite far from the house and the chime wont ever have the range to pair to the doorbell
I’m ready to dump all remaining paid subscriptions to Nest and Ring as soon as HomeKit support is activated for Eufy cams. Most of the issues brought up should be addressable by firmware updates. The lack of cloud backup would be addressed by iCloud and HomeKit. So if 2k rez and two-way recording is fixed, I’m going full Eufy!
Hello, your videos are great. I purchased this doorbell 2 months ago and seem to work fine, but we don’t get many people at the front door anyway. It was really for deliveries. For the past 2 week, we’ve been getting a lot of packages and the doorbell camera doesn’t pick up the the deliveries. Anker agreed to refund so I’m asking what is your recommendation for a no monthly fee doorbell camera? Sucks that I also bought the EufyCam2 because I planned to invest in their system
Hi fantastic video again I will stick to my nest hello doorbell never had any problems with it plus to let you know I have a phone call from Reolink last week thay have sorted out my static noises now they is no static noises now I can hear anyone by my front door I am gutted can’t use these cameras on my google assistant because in the UK we don’t have the cloud service
Thank you for your reviews, I live in Querétaro, México. I want to know if is it easy for the people in the street to steal the door bells? I have one old door bell and it is difficult to steal it (and probably nobody is interested), but I want a video door bell, which you think is the more convenient?
@Lifehackster. Are they planning to integrate this with the home base? Seems like a missed opportunity. Recording & chime sounds could have been handled by the base along with its battery back up.
They emailed me addressing the issues I have stated and they are working on the fix... and they stated that they are working on integrating the recordings to the base station...
LifeHackster In my experience Eufy actually listened to my feedback by implementing customised ‘away profiles’ for their cams. So this is very promising. Thanks for the thorough reviews ...as always.
Hello LifeHackster. With houses with no existing doorbell, Is it possible to have this doorbell powered by a power adapter that can be plugged into a wall outlet? If so do you know what voltage and amperage is needed and if a resistor is necessary? Thanks for all your review videos They very informative and helpful!
Great video. Subscribed to get your updated review when new firmware comes out. Please let us know when it working well. Really need to get rid of Cloud service on Ring.
The previous owners of my house had the chime disconnected, but there are 3 sets of wires (each having a red and a white). All 3 white are twisted together and wrapped in electrical tape and the 3 red are all separate... it looks as if there was one each for front, rear and transformer. I'm hoping I can get this to work but I'm not sure if those 24 v lines actually have power. I think the transformer is up in the ceiling attached to the joist in the basement, but its covered with drywall. The same type of line is feeding my home heating / AC control as well, and that has power so I'm assuming its all hooked up. Maybe I can take a multimeter to it and see if there's power before I go ahead and buy the wired version of the doorbell.
Hey life Hackster, I have a quick question. First, for the first time ever, I had a UPS package taken from my front door about a week ago. I have currently been looking for a video doorbell and have narrowed it down to either the Ring doorbell 3 or the Eufy. I have viewed video on both and I understand ring u need a subscription and the other you don't. Now I'm leaning on the Eufy 2k. My question is does Eufy make a PRO version of their doorbell? If they do, and u have done a review on it, can u fwd it so I can review it b4 I make my purchase?
I don't know why everyone gives these great reviews. There's tons of missed notifications, sometimes up to a minute lag, lots of false positives, you can only have one tiny ignore zone, no RTSP, no homekit or ITFFF support and because they 100% rely on the cloud for authentication so when their servers down or they go out of business you're SOL.
You mentioned that the video from this door bell doesn't upload to the cloud, but I wish you had mentioned that you can't even include this door bell in a subscription as it is not compatible to upload at all. Otherwise I love you reviews ! Thx
I don't know what to do. I currently have the ring doorbell pro and I'm not happy at all with the night time video. Seems blurry to me. Do you recommend a different doorbell? Oh and BTW I have a Wi-Fi repeater on the inside of the front door with my tv. Thanks.
just wondering, if you don't have data on your phone and your out when someone rings the bell, I assume it will work fine you just don't get the notification and you can check the recording when you get home???
There is now a pro version of this doorbell, you should review that one as it has 32 GB onboard storage and can record continuous for 5 days. Eufy is saying it is pending update to be compatible with home base 3 so eliminating the achilles heel of video being stored on the device.

LifeHackster I have another question please, my family house have the regular doorbell and I want to get one for them can install it without connecting the old chime with it ?
Nest video looks better...So it still requiring 2mb upload even though it records to a internal sd card..maybe you should retest when u have a faster upload speed to see if it makes a difference with video quality and two way audio issue...
Yes, Nest Hello has pretty good resolution...and that is what Eufy stated in their box..but I think it is more when doing live view...Eufy emailed me and stated that they are working on the fixes.
hi bro, hope you will see this comment. i just bought a eufy wireless doorbell however, im having trouble when I sync it to my homebase 2. I tried to do the instructions and google it. but still not syncing. had you encounter the same? do I need to return to the seller? thanks bro.
Would it be possible to use the Amazon Fire 7 Tablet for viewing video and talking to the person at the door that has the Eufy doorbell camera? The only problem could be to download the Eufy Security App to a Fire 7.
Notice the battery powered version is coming with the homebase do you know if there has been a firmware upgrade so the electric powered version can use the homebase ??
Can this be purchased in Ireland? The eufy USA website sells it but not the uk one? Same with ebay? Is there an issue that this doorbell is not compatible this side of the water? I’ve no problem buying from an international seller but worried that it’s not going to work?
I have some ring products. I really hope these competitors force ring to lower subscription costs lol. Or in a year or two when they get good enough I will ditch ring for something with free cloud storage.
These reviews are great, your the only person I have found that is testing the same things I am looking for in an easy to follow way. Thanks very much for your work!
No doubt Ring and Nest can feel these new competitors breathing down their necks. Keep up the good work.
Thank You.
wouldnt it be easy for burglar to steal the door bell with the storage built in?
Inquisitve m if it’s like my cameras the storage is in the home base
It stores it on the homebase in the house
Great review! Can I ask (in a nutshell) what are your main reasons with going with the Ring Pro vs the Eufy? Thanks for your time and keep up the great work!!!
As usual another thorough review. I kinda like this video doorbell, so looking forward to future updates to see if any updates were made by Eufy.
Thank You.
BigMad Starr same... hoping there is an update!
Probably the most thorough installation instructions and best review. Thanks for the info I actually learned a few things off this vid alone.

I just got this Doorbell and love it!!! I'm returning the ring Doorbell before the return deadline...

(1:38) If a random dog shows up @ my front door looking for a petting then I WANT to know.
True..you can set it to more sensitive but you will do get more false alerts.
lets pet our new doggo together
I just ordered one using your link. I hope you get the kickback.

You do excellent, honest, thorough reviews. Thanks so much!
I live in Michigan and we got to below -20° F last winter. Will this or any others hold up to that temperature?

God bless you. Very good review as usual. Many Thanks.
I have several units of ring doorbell 2 and it is not recording colored videos under good lighting at night and WiFi conditions . Is this natural or the devices are defected?
Thank you
For my experience it is normal. Ring wifi is the worst ive Seen.
The Ring 2 doesn't have the color recording like the wired Ring cameras. When the IR LEDs (night vision) is on, it will record in black and white.

Hi LifeHackster just started using your reviews. They are great! Question: of the three (Ring Pro, Nest Hello, and Eufy) video doorbells which one did you personally like the best and why? Tks
At this time.. nest Hello.. just because how quick it is to load the camera on the google hub..if not, then Ring Pro..
Very helpful! Would you recommend five best video doorbells in your opinion? Thank you.
The Chime pairs to the doorbell? that means the chime has to be in range?

It is actually pretty reliable as to motion detection...but the video quality needs to be better.
have they updated the firmware by now?
Yes they updated the firmware,it is working great for me.
Hi, has their been any improvements to this doorbell camera through updates? hopefully in two years Eufy has made improvements.
Great video! Thanks to your review, I will be purchasing this product. I am also subscribing as a result of you high quality channel.
Can you make a video, of how set up the preeroll and witch eufy doorbell cameras have it, please.
Thank you for always reviewing all the products!
You are welcome.
Great video but I expected better resolution from a 2K camera.
Me too...
Can this record video? If so, for how long?
Hi bro, I have a ring wired. Would you recommend changing it for Eufy? Thanks so much
Great video really appreciate the thorough review
Thank You.
You do the best reviews. Love the honesty and detail. I’m waiting for you to do a review on reolink rlk8-800b4... any chance you got one coming? :-)
I know..I will do a review on it soon..just have a lot of other topics in line...
Awesome video but does it work with echo show when someone rings the doorbell? I have ring please compare with ring pro
If you get 2 of these, will they both work with just one chime unit instead of using 2 separate chimes?
Awesome review as always!
Thank you. I appreciate it.
At the moment, is Nest the best video doorbell? Even with it's cost it is the best for you? Is this the best no recurring cost video doorbell?
As to best, at this time, there are no best video doorbell... but the Ring Pro and the Nest Hello are good choices.
Hello, your videos are great. I purchased this doorbell 2 months ago and seem to work fine, but we don’t get many people at the front door anyway. It was really for deliveries. Are you gonna do a Review on the Eufy Doorbell Duo? it has 2 cameras

That is cool that Reolink fixed the static issue. Thanks.
Bravo brother. One hell of a Review
No problems love it and use the door bell battery life is great and so is the quality of the camera
Looks like it has potential. Should be a better picture at 4mp though. Anker could end up with a nice line of home security cameras.
The build of their products are pretty good...they just need to iron out the issues..
Thank you for your reviews, I live in Querétaro, México. I want to know if is it easy for the people in the street to steal the door bells? I have one old door bell and it is difficult to steal it (and probably nobody is interested), but I want a video door bell, which you think is the more convenient?
If they want to take it... they will be able to even it is properly secured...most video doorbells are screwed only with 2 screws.
Thank you very much I appreciate your answer
Do you have to have an existing doorbell for this to work? I am assuming that you do have to have one
Another excellent video. Thank you.
You are welcome.
This thing is brilliant and no yearly fee. Win win

Yes they did.. I will testing it some more pretty soon...

good review! But is it compatible with Alexa? I can't find that information
Do you have a recommended video doorbell? Just curious. Thanks!
Best review like always 🙏🏽
Great video. Subscribed to get your updated review when new firmware comes out. Please let us know when it working well. Really need to get rid of Cloud service on Ring.
Eufy said that they are working on it but haven’t received confirmation yet.

Eufy Video Doorbell 2K wired version waterproof? And it is compatible with the HomeBase 2?
Great Review! Thank you Sir!
Hi could u tell me between the wired eufy 2k or 1080 p which is better ? Especially for cold weather? Looking forward if u could help me
Can this be used with existing chime?

Thx for the reply. I enjoy your reviews
Just what I was looking for. I don’t want to pay for a service to store my video footage.
Yes, this doorbell will have no monthly subscription.
Did they ever fixed the issues since the review?
no the 2k video is still nowhere to be found... I almost regretting upgrading this over my 1080p. This should been fixed via firmware by now!
Excellent video
thanks.
Great info. Thank you
Will this door bell download video to the Homebase2?

Can't see much difference between this an 1080p, is it more notciable in person
Thanks for the quick and thorough review! I’ve seen some screenshots on the Eufy forums and from Dave Zatz blog, they also show poor HDR and lack of detail, especially considering the “2K” resolution
Sad that Eufy can’t beat the year old Nest Hello, hope they can fix it with firmware
Eufy has emailed me and they are working on a firmware fix.
LifeHackster Adam Miarka posted on Twitter that they’ve rolled out firmware to allow 2K recording. Seems like it will require H.265 decoding on your phone, which anyone that would want 2K probably already has
Did Eufy fix the software issue where video cuts off after 2way talk is started? Also, what about video resolution issue?
im wondering the same!
I have a brick house as well. What tools do I need to drill holes?
You will need a drill and the masonry drill bit.
please confirm as it will work with Cat6 cables?
My new house has Cat6 cable pre-wiring.(no doorbells installed previously)
Im lucky to find 2 holes that line up 😉 😆
I have just the wired outside the house without the regular chime inside can I still buy it and use just the chime came in the box with it
Yes you can..
LifeHackster thanks
LifeHackster I have another question please, my family house have the regular doorbell and I want to get one for them can install it without connecting the old chime with it ?
Does this doorbell have an option to have the footage saved the cloud? I’ve heard about a $3 subscription but I can’t find anything about it. Thanks!
Wonder is the video resolution/format issue only on iPhones or also on Android phones?

Ring pro is the one I’m using right now.

Hey Any idea if the firmware updates fixed the two way audio related glitch? curious
It still records only the cameras side of the conversation.
Great, was going to message you to see if you were going to review this or not. Not much info on Amazon on it.
