As a recovering addict who was homeless, this just made me cry. Thank you for your dedication & kindness. I’d be dead if it wasn’t for people like you…
I have a major concern : The civilization's degradation we are witnessing is caused by family disintegration and all sorts of corruption like promoting drug abuse, alcoholism through ads on TV, night clubs, seeking for money as a goal, self centralization, keeping the citizens in credit debt, banks usury, making the value in ownings, yesterday sexual freedom, today LGBT, tomorrow incest, suppressing true intrinsic reaction towards injustice through Hollywood horror, sexual, violent movies, making people just hopeless viewers, advocating colonialists, accepting their arrogance, implanting a sense of inferiority to them in other civilizations… Many people may just be too busy in solving their emotional and financial problems so they feel they're hopeless in acting to change the world crises, such as bombing civilians in Gaza. They feel overwhelmed and unable to help themselves, so how can they help others. “Evil elites” don't care about you, absolutely whoever you are. They don't have a paycheck. Their system which we agreed on fits for them and gives them full potential. You can be happy when you get 200$ raise but this way they get full control then the poor becomes poorer and those extremely rich donate with the very little, which doesn't solve anything. This is our opted system. Please be aware that the ultimate goal is to devoid one from true intrinsic nature i.e. making us ignorant and emotionally numb sometimes and other times arrogant and willing to accept colonialists' heroic crimes. Who controls the media anyway ? Actually social media may not be better, regarding policies and ways to control public opinions such as recommendations and comments section. BTW some comments may be written by cyber armies who pretend to be anything in order to serve their policy. They manipulate our minds. (Please Google “Operation Earnest Voice”) So instead you go and deepen your loyalty to bad institutions (shined by media) as a safe reaction, I suggest you think differently so the world can become a true one cooperation, free from hunger or war, full of peace with true equal opportunities and fair competition embraced by love and dignity to all. It's up to you whether you say “the system is more powerful than us” but at least now you may expect that our civilization cannot continue and foster this way. Want to do better ? Make “a decision” that is stronger than the system ! Sorry for this long lecture. I know it's difficult to perceive because we were raised in a way.
I think the homeless often get bad press and many people think they're alcoholics or drug addicts and some are,but we are all one unfortunate step away from potential homelessness. I was briefly homeless as a teen, due to being orphaned. It was back in the day when there was no help at all. It's horrendous. Luckily I found my way out of it. I feel for anyone without a roof.
Agreed. We all think we are immune to such things but we’re not. Just a run of bad luck or a couple of bad decisions could put anyone of us in this position.
To be poor in this country is still to be one of the richest people on the planet. This country does more than enough to support our homeless and for the VAST majority of them they could be off the streets within a month given the right amount of effort. From experience. I’ve learnt about the various charities and systems in place to help our homeless and upon trying to get behind many of them and help them up, I still find none of them seem to have the bother to do what’s necessary to fix their plight. Even if it’s something as simple as go to the JobCentre to apply for benefits. I do not pity them anymore as I find them to be lazy and apathetic. Nihilism will help you to understand why they CHOOSE to stay in the situation they’re in. 0 responsibility. Live as a victim. Play the pity card. They could do so much more and choose not to.
...and people avoiding using the food bank because of stigma when it is the systemic attack on wages and jobs, profiteering by retailers and landlords and cuts to council services and charities that are the root cause.
It's sad when people are speaking English as a first language and have had £90,000 spent on their education and £50billion spent on welfare and still they cant make a go of it when somebody who just turned up from Bangladesh and barely speaks the language with no education is rarely to be seen sleeping in the streets.
My heart breaks for the homeless people. But big respect to these ladies and all who are involved with their organisation and others out there like them. Britain needs people like this or it would be worse than it is. Thankyou to the people who still care. We appreciate you❤🙏🏽🇬🇧💯
Haha if you only knew, "outreach" teams are designed to keep people homeless as long as possible, All the "support" is designed to siphon their benefits for a set period of time into the pockets of private companies until they are right back on the streets.
@@ConDuiler I don’t need the red carpet treatment unlike your community. The only people that should be getting help are British people who have fallen on hard times. If your name is something like abdul then you should be disqualified from receiving help.
@GlasgowRossco I'm not part of the homeless community, What you think of as the homeless community are just career homeless crackheads sleeping outside a tk maxx front entrance, you never see real homeless people apart from recently in newspapers, The career homeless need to be immediately sectioned and then put to work in secure units. Real homeless people simply need to be allowed to use our own money to pay for somewhere to live, as most of us work full time, We are simply not allowed to re-engage with society. The bureaucracy of this country still operates as if we were living in 1850.
I'd like to give my two cents regarding jobs for the more vulnerable people, some people aren't meant for 9-5jobs because of health, some get nervous and probably work better in communities rather than being expected to be independent. There are a ton if issues why some people need extra friendly work environments maybe they came from abusive homes.
That is classified as 'nowhere safe to live' HOMELESS But the City is the stupidest place to be!!!!! You KNOW lots of people need help there Use your brain people
Statistically 86% of the homeless gave mental health issues & have fallen they the cracks in the system. Work of any kind isnt going to be realistic until meds & housing are in place.

Homelessness can happen to anybody. I was homeless for seven days, that was enough. Rents and mortgages are far too high. This is an issue that needs to be tackled, not ignored.
I cried when I heard the news that the homeless guy in my area died before Christmas I got a message by a friend to say someone had found him dead in his tent at around 10am on the 24th of December he always kept himself clean by taking a washing up bowl in the men's public toilets cleaning his face, hair, facial hair, hands, armpits & other stuff the only thing that smelt bad were his clothing he always smiled and waved at me/everyone that ever walked by him what I loved about him was that he always picked up all the litter off the floor the way he lived made me feel sad I miss him so much 😢💔
Yeah yeah but they go out every weekend, pile themselves with takeout food, have a nice expensive phone contract, pay for netflix, sky etc then scream poverty. Not enough yournalists to cover each death. There's only 365 days in the year and only so many reporters to cover over a 1000 deaths of homeless people on top of all the other deaths. Not every lethal car crash is reported on; they happen everyday. If you feel that the issue of homelessness is not getting the attention it deserves: don't whine about it online. Get up and pay attention to the homeless and tell us about it. Thst will inspire people to do something. Could be as simple as a kind word, buying them a warm meal. It won't solve the problem but if you lead by example you have less time for whinging and more time to actually do something within your realm of influence. Merry Christmas!
It's not really the world that's horrible and selfish, it's the people "leading" the UK that would rather house illegal immigrants on tax payer money than people who have been paying tax in the UK their entire lives, that are left on the streets due to landlords faulting on their mortgages and a massive lack of overall housing in general. We have a London mayor that is more concerned about preaching empty messages of "solidarity and diversity" and that "we are all Londoners" when the people he's actually talking about can barely feed their families, whilst he welcomes more illegals that only take from our economy and don't put back in. When you have entire social housing estates full of people that got here in the last 15 years due to Blair opening the flood gates to the world, and British people fighting for properties that they can barely afford to rent let alone buy or take mortgages out on. The cycle never ends, and the more we keep policing people's thoughts in stead of the country, will lead us further into becoming the 3rd world nation we now basically are. Britain has fallen, and will continue to fall unless we get these people out of Parliament, liberal and Conservative, neither have a clue and basically preach the same empty messages year after year will no action and constant lies.

I’m taking notes. I am facing the same issue(s) as some of the people profiled. I pray each day for things to change and I am proactive in attempts to correct my situation. I dont know how local authorities have managed to get away with not helping for so long... The bureaucracy around services is shocking. Like only being open on wednesdays for 10 minutes, having to need local connections, refusing to help because of debt to the authority. I have seen this 1st hand. My local council has just been awarded £700,000 to help the "houshold support fund" .. you try getting that help 😂 So many barriers, hoops to jump through, send bank statements, have a phone (which if your homeless is unlikely) etc etc. Any "service" the council provides is impossible to access and if you do you probably dont fit the criteria Absolutely disgusting.. the whole thing is a minefield for people who are fully engaged, nevermind those who are not THIS IS THE REAL PROBLEM just try accessing any "help" service in your local authority and see what i mean 👍
13 years of austerity might have something to do with it, plus 40 odd years of social housing being sold off. It’s always easy to have a pop at the local authorities.
@@Jimdixon1953 the local authority sold the housing though 🤷♂️ . I've had the same thought. Many of these people would give whatever little they have for a room on the Bibby Stockholm. We shouldn't be letting so many people into the UK before we've sorted this out, we're only a small island, we don't physically have the space and resources to solve the world's problems, we should be focussed on our own problems first. Should be borders closed to all but the most serious cases until every homeless person is off the streets. They'd have to abide by rules though, like no drugs and no booze. Some wouldn't want to, so would still remain sleeping rough.
@@pauln6803 quite simple really when the RNLI pick them up instead of bringing them to British soil they take them right back to France where they departed from.
Our issues are linked to other countries issues. We are a net importer of people. For better or worse we have an increasing number of people here but not new housing stock to match. We can use foreign aid to see if we can tempt people not to come here and or we can build more houses. But what we can't do is nothing.

Books are not enough. I think people should take in family members who are homeless or in need. In my country we are poorer but you won't see as many homeless as in the UK. It is a very individualistic society. I have seen on youtube people complaining about expensive prices but they own a big house enough to house other people. This has to change.
@@joannaheart8167 I don't agree. Ok if the family member is healthy. Not if they're suffering from severe Mental Health issues , that they refuse treatment for. Or if the person has Addiction issues. Alcoholics and Drug Addicts often lose their homes ,and families, because they can't be trusted to be honest. They destroy their own family, as a consequence of their Addictive behaviour. @@jacqueline8559 well, of course, I was not specific and did not refer to these cases, I know it's quite impossible to take in people who suffer from issues or addiction.
And who is going to pay for that? There might be empty rooms in hotels on some nights, but those rooms need to be cleaned and serviced. The homeless need to be checked in and out. You need to pay staff to do that. Moreover, being forced to host homeless people might reduce their appeal to non-homeless people, reducing their revenue. So what you are proposing is that we force private businesses to accept higher costs and lower revenues and the only way that could happen is if the government, through taxpayers, was willing to fund this program. We've had street homeless for years. When I moved to London in the late 80's, shop doorways were full of street homeless people but no-one ranted about putting them in hotels then.
it's time we had a solution to the homelessness crisis now instead of charities sitting on money pretending to be concerned about homeless and councils not doing their bit all homelessness should be illegal in uk, if someone is sleeping rough they should be forced to do into a hostel or some sort of accommodation. all these charities sitting on millions should put this into action now. together all these stakeholders can end homelessness but the will isn't there, as it's not in the interests of homeless charities to end homelessness as they wouldn't exist then would they and the CEOs/Director wouldn't be paid £200-300k a year would they. once you end corruption and fraud in the system you can solve any human made problem.
While I am in complete agreement with the sentiment of your comment, I feel like I have to add that not all charities are cut from the same cloth. Generally speaking it's the smaller charities that are doing the most on the "front lines" so to speak. And I would like to say quickly that one of the worst offenders are the (and this is approximate as I cannot remember the name properly at the moment) "The British Legion", yes the one that sells the poppies, the ratio of the amount of monies received from the public and businesses in contrast to the amount of which is spent on the support and aid towards former soldiers is absolutely disgraceful, disgustingly so. And as a consequence of learning about this (and I implore you to go have a look at the figures yourself) a few years ago I have gone from the purchase of several poppies a year to absolutely refusing to support the charity whatsoever, the figures and help offered was that contemptible.
Have you had a look round recently, your idea is great in theory, in practice however it’s impossible, social housing all but gone , temporary accommodation the same , why might you ask , it’s called uncontrolled immigration,8 million pounds a day spent on accommodating foreign illegal migrants in hotels , the government tried turfing them out on the streets recently to join our indigenous homeless, but they’ve quietly u-turned on this today , sorry , but tackling immigration is the key to tackling this homeless crisis,
they should treat them like they treat immigrants!! hotels, barges, etc! nothing can be worse than sleeping rough!! mind you, i do think there are quite a few spare rooms in buc-king-ham palace!!!
They have less than people in prision. Less security, less care, less thoughts given to them than to prisioners even though the caring ladies do their best to help. It is so hard. People need at least some sort of warm cabins with shared bathrooms. Wish we had a solution like one comment said like communities.
Why do you think a lot of homeless when it gets cold and wet get abusive. Because as you say better off in a police cell. Warm drinks and food provided.
I'd like to agree, but having been close to someone who suffered underlying emotional difficulties that eventually spiraled into mental health problems and alcohol addiction, it's really not that simple. We can attempt to patch up mental health issues, but genuinely successful treatment is another matter.
Christmas is tough because everything is closed and it's cold out. We're lucky enough to have saved enough for a cheap motel for a few days. Then it's back in the cold!

The government needs to stop paying 8 million a day, putting people up in hotels and starting to use that money to build permanent homes. We need long-term solutions, not papering over the cracks! We are the 3rd richest country, yet we have so many of our own families living on the streets.
I lived in a 3rd world country for 10 years and hardly saw any homeless people. Shocking this is happening in the UK with benefits, housing, NHS etc Mental health, addiction, abuse all exists in the country I lived in, why is this happening here and not there ?
Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. I personally benefited from the market crisis as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly….
I agree with you and I believe that Professionals are currently dominating the market since they have access to both the necessary strategy for making money in this industry and exclusive insider market information.
I’m Glad i stumbled on this. Please, if its not too much of a hassle for you, can you drop the details of the expertise that assisted you and how to get in touch with him?
If you cannot have the basic necessities you surely cannot become employed and that is if you are well enough to manage to be employable. In America we dismantled a system that helped these folks have a place and now the streets here are teeming with deeply mentally challenged and chronically addicted people who largely need commitment and health care. Society has to take responsibility for this before it unravels. Many people are one paycheck away from living out of their cars here. Millions.
We can't even live out our cars here in the UK. Once the yearly inspection, insurance and tax is out of date, it's then illegal and the car is scooped up and crushed, or you park on private land, you don't get permission and the land owner has the car taken away. You can't win...
I sat through a strategy meeting last week on how we are to transport a 18yr old violent Afghan boy to a special private school in the Cotswold's. The cost to the tax payer, including school fee's for the year, £422,000. We have over 9000 more UAS's like him in our system.
What strategy meeting was that? How do you know 9,000 identical cases are pending? Excuse my doubt in your statements but if you’re 18 years old then you are considered to be an adult in the U.K. so why would you be sent to a private school? These facilities are not on offer from the current conservative government or any other local education authorities!

As someone who was street homeless several years ago through addiction things were tough, i had a background hiking and camping when i was younger and that helped but there were times when i certainly felt vulnerable, the girls often sold their bodies to fund addictions and it was something i was so aware of. Having found a job and got the help i needed i went on to help the homeless myself often seeing people i knew but i was aware too that it was often a choice they made. There is help out there but these services are so stretched at the moment, i think that the major supermarkets should really do that bit more and directly supply these foodbank charities instead of relying on customers to leave the odd tin of beans in the single trolley left at the exit. It's not like they can't afford it, and people please let's start looking out for each other, after all everyone has a story to tell and i often think "damn that would actually make a good book?". ❤❤

For those that say the boat people get treated better yes they do, however there isnt any reason why the government can't prevent homelessness, and put people into hotels to help them back into society, the government simply choose not to. In the same way as they choose to allow large numbers of people to live in poverty.

I was homeless for 2yrs and I have to say it was interesting. I have mental illness but because of rent prices and work couldn’t pay enough I couldn’t live. So I finally got a place 6 months ago and finally some what on my feet. But I know in a blink of an eye it can all change. I am always prepared because our government is so messed up. Anything could happen.
The problem of homelessness is mainly social not about housing.. families are not tight enough to look after their own.. this woman has brothers, daughters, sons.. but the culture allows people to indulge in alcoholism, have life long family problems because families never step in to resolve issues.. everyone is left to their own problems to either eat them or else... then everyone shows up to say a good word and goes back to their lives separately..
Alcoholics are incredibly abusive to the people around them. They've usually burnt all their bridges, called in all their favours. These people are slowly dying on the streets because even their own family don't care.
Did you really watch the video? Charities complaining that people are no longer donating to them. If those usually seen as 'better-off' are struggling (because of living crisis), no amount of family care/responsibility will ever stop homelessness.
Many homeless people grew up in the care system so they literally don't have families. Having a family who can help is such a luxury. And you talk about the culture "allowing" people to "indulge" in alcoholism. First, addiction is not an indulgence - few imaginable fates in life are worse. Secondly, look at how people have kicked off about the government's proposed ban on smoking. So many people argue it isn't the government's place to control what people can consume. To name a culture that doesn't allow alcohol would be those such as Saudi Arabia but I don't think any of us would like it if the UK became like that.
all i will say you hit the nail on the head. years ago families were closer and would help where necessary sadly we have seem to have lost it. I think on the whole we have become more I am all jack attitude

Why not claim asylum and live like a scrounging migrant
MOST are.
Especially people who have manual labour jobs. We're always one pay check away from homelessness.

It is sad when in society you've got a food bank on one side of the road and on the other multi-million dollar homes and still people going without.
...and people avoiding using the food bank because of stigma when it is the systemic attack on wages and jobs, profiteering by retailers and landlords and cuts to council services and charities that are the root cause.
It's sad when people are speaking English as a first language and have had £90,000 spent on their education and £50billion spent on welfare and still they cant make a go of it when somebody who just turned up from Bangladesh and barely speaks the language with no education is rarely to be seen sleeping in the streets.

Why is it so many homeless people in the UK, when thousands of migrants come here and get homed ?

Look into the Kaler gi Plan. It's all by design.
@draylynn458 increasing because of the population .
I interviewed homeless people. It is so easy to get from normal to homelessness in a flash. So do not judge homeless people!
it's time we had a solution to the homelessness crisis now instead of charities sitting on money pretending to be concerned about homeless and councils not doing their bit all homelessness should be illegal in uk, if someone is sleeping rough they should be forced to do into a hostel or some sort of accommodation. all these charities sitting on millions should put this into action now. together all these stakeholders can end homelessness but the will isn't there, as it's not in the interests of homeless charities to end homelessness as they wouldn't exist then would they and the CEOs/Director wouldn't be paid £200-300k a year would they. once you end corruption and fraud in the system you can solve any human made problem.

Yet, the British won't budge.
"If you are poor, you only have yourself to blame."
Homelessness is more a mental thing than financial. It's sad but they need rehabilitation in addition to some housing.
Rehab fails in 98 percent of the time
I'd like to agree, but having been close to someone who suffered underlying emotional difficulties that eventually spiraled into mental health problems and alcohol addiction, it's really not that simple.
We can attempt to patch up mental health issues, but genuinely successful treatment is another matter.
The royal family have multiple homes, 🤔. The wealth of some, and others who have absolutely nothing. Sad and very unfair world
Exactly
2:14 SHE WEARING SHORT PANTS??!!! AND THIS POOR HOMELESS WOMEN SHAKING OF COLD!!!!
Christmas is tough because everything is closed and it's cold out. We're lucky enough to have saved enough for a cheap motel for a few days. Then it's back in the cold!
This is what voting Conservative causes.
I'm looking for a place to live I'm in Birmingham and no council left housing associations luck of the draw and I'm a pensioner I've been looking after my mother for 5 years 😮and she died 3 weeks ago I've got to find a place to live 😢 😢
This is so so wrong. Protect the vulnerable. Don't persecute them. They are humans with feelings and emotions
Shocking this is happening in the UK with benefits, housing, NHS etc
Mental health, addiction, abuse all exists in the country I lived in, why is this happening here and not there ?
Just heartbreaking 😢
Ok
???
LIFE FOR PEOPLE IN THE UK AND EUROPE IS ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE, IT WILL NEVER GET BETTER.
Everyone seems shocked when crony capitalism works exactly as it's designed to: more for me, less for thee. 🤷

I keep wondering how people earn money in financial markets, i tried trading bitcoin on my own made a huge loss and now I'm scared of investing more.
Personally, I would always advise getting a professional help so they can steer you through the choppy market.
I’m Glad i stumbled on this. Please, if its not too much of a hassle for you, can you drop the details of the expertise that assisted you and how to get in touch with him?
@@Florencecoxx I get guidance from *Mr Gary Mason Brooks* . Most likely, the internet should have his basic info..
The PM should be worried about this, more than stopping immigrant workers who pay thier taxes....
Thank you guys
I sat through a strategy meeting last week on how we are to transport a 18yr old violent Afghan boy to a special private school in the Cotswold's. The cost to the tax payer, including school fee's for the year, £422,000. We have over 9000 more UAS's like him in our system.
What strategy meeting was that? How do you know 9,000 identical cases are pending? Excuse my doubt in your statements but if you’re 18 years old then you are considered to be an adult in the U.K. so why would you be sent to a private school? These facilities are not on offer from the current conservative government or any other local education authorities!
Your point being? Are you really in the right job?
With that crusader profile picture I doubt you're sitting in on any strategy meetings of the sort

If you vote Tory or labour, you have no right complaining about the state of this country, vote reform uk for much needed change
Sadly no free hotels for the homeless English
We've had street homeless for years. When I moved to London in the late 80's, shop doorways were full of street homeless people but no-one ranted about putting them in hotels then.
Well Done ❤ Earth Angels ❤ Never Give Up 👏 ❤
14 years of Tory government…….equals this.

Go to Dover - get rid of any ID - slip into the queue- speak gibberish. And you will be fed , housed by the authorities
And by "gibberish" I assume you mean any language that isn't English?
Don't think I need to guess who you'll be voting for in the election. Moron.
For those that say the boat people get treated better yes they do, however there isnt any reason why the government can't prevent homelessness, and put people into hotels to help them back into society, the government simply choose not to. In the same way as they choose to allow large numbers of people to live in poverty.
Hey, I used to volunteer for the Whitechapel Centre, in Liverpool. Never on the outreach team though.
Great 👍
Great work.
Brings back good memories. I still use them for references if I need to, hehe. But I met a lot of nice people there. Genuine people. Life's rough for some people, and if I can change that for the better, then I'm all for it. God bless anyone reading this message. You'll get there.
drugs, not cost of living.
Welcome to Tory Britain! Grim 😢
Rubbish. Women were forced to have babies adopted, couldn’t open their own bank accounts (that was in the 1970s!). Don’t romanticise families.
CLAIM ASYLUM, AND YOU WILL BE TREATED LIKE ROYALTY IMMEDIATELY ❤
State of quality of life in UK only REFLECTS the state of affairs that ENTIRE BRITAIN find herself in and that is very worrying
You can thank Thatcher for much of this
Imagine if the royals rocked up with a decent amount of money to support these organisations. Prob just need to sell a couple of Royal wine glasses and these organisations would be set for the year. But no. Handshakes, sad expressions for photo ops is what they dish up. Messed up world
Just think if the government stopped illegal grunts at (£8bn) these people would be taken care of
