i can't believe i used Omegle a few times in 2008 when i was 13. I was neglected and lonely and I'm grateful nothing bad happened to me back then and that it is gone now.
Omegle lets you connect or even bond with random people online, however this can come with its own forms of consequences. People don't always have the purest intentions.
honestly, omegle was never a good place to find friends in my opinion i've only found 2 people that were actually nice to talk to on omegle, and even then it never went further than that because back then i was still aware of its dangers

Omegle was the beginning of my mental downfall, at the age of 13 I was groomed by a 40 or something ish man on Omegle. He had me recorded, knew my name, my parents, my location. He had me added on Facebook for 2 years. Made to send him explicit pictures of myself until I had enough and just blocked him. To this day I’m scared of seeing him again, even hearing his name sends me into a spiral . Please keep an eye out on your children, don’t give them unlimited or unrestricted access to anything online. You don’t want to end up like me

About two years ago, my dad found a card shop in our area (our family being more gamers, at least in my household) and we met this amazing guy I’ll call Derek, he is 39. I played Pokémon with him a lot until I started to find him kinda weird and annoying. My little sister (this is important) played every game with him. DND, Pokémon, he even taught her Magic! They were best friends 39 and 11. (These ages are now, back then it was 37 and 9) He became a very fond family friends, and we trusted him (except for me. I didn’t like him, I didn’t know why but I just didn’t like him. I mean I found him annoying but looking back, the vibes he gave were more than “annoying”) My dad and him were BEST. FRIENDS. Which makes sense, since they were close in age. They both were fond of Naruto which led to an impromptu ramen night. We also played board games with him. A lot. We played so much that him, my sister, and my mom were going to play with him on February 5th of this year (2023) marked in my calendar. My dad was at work. Well, unfortunately he never showed…or…fortunately. In an attempt to figure this out, my sister made a comment. “I’ll ask him on discord when he will get here.” With a dad who works at a prison and a mom who lost her best friend in highschool due to a kidnapping, this raised some LARGE flags. Well my dad and sister went to the card shop one day and I was on me and my sisters shared computer. Well my mom calls me and asks me to bring the computer and I do, having no real reason not to as I had nothing to hide. The thing that she said after she opened and looked at the apps “You don’t have discord on here?” I said no as I didn’t ever want to use it and my sister had it on her phone rather that computer. She gave it back but this struck me weird. Once they got home, my mom took my sisters phone and looked through her and Derek’s messages. He had been messaging her since December. At the beginning, it was just Pokémon and things like that. But he started asking for things. It started off with just asking for pictures of her (face) and when she didn’t and stood her ground he would send her pictures of his face so it would encourage her to. Her being hot-headed and and as bendable as a rock, she didn’t. He also told her how much he loved to hug her and wished he could cuddle her. As time went on and my sister not wanting to do anything with him, he got more aggressive. Luckily, this is when we found out. His threats were starting to get worse and probably would’ve led to him DOING these things to her. The police was notified through a friend of my dads (who was higher than him and could do something about it, prison workers) They went to his house, searched his things and made sure he hadn’t TOUCHED any children, which is still being determined, and he has since been banned (my dad is good friends with the owner, it’s a small town card shop.) and was LAUGHED at when he went to the card shops discord server to go cry about it (EVERYONE it the card shop had been warned, because children were prominent) Be safe online kids.

did an experiment: now that omegle is retired from the internet, me and another friend went on a similar website called Emerald (I think). We spent 2 evenings on there, hanging around and documenting how many NSFW things we saw. 128 males 2 females 1 dog We spent at most 3.5 hours combined on there and saw that. I'm watching this after Omegle being shut down . In fairness back in the day stuff like this was rare(at least in my experience) but has grown more and more out of control. I'm happy the owner finally made the right decision to end it. Even if it did have to be through the courts. There is no report button on Omegle. There should be. You should also be forced to register an account to use it. A lot of things could be done to make it safer. Of course, the internet itself has some risk either way. But services sometimes neglect to make it more difficult for predators, thus making it so much easier for them to do what they do., Edit: And it looks like Omegle is gone. OmeTV and app which does basically the same thing, required you to link it with your social media. Close enough.

While omegle's purpose allows you to connect and meet people worldwide, using it nowadays is risky in my opinion. Even in the early 2000s to 2010s, online chatrooms are used as easy platforms for bullying, harassment, and worst, predators.
As someone who's been addicted to the internet since 2003, I guarantee you the internet hasn't become more risky, internet users have simply become less ignorant. The internet used to be the Wild Wild West.

These sites (including discord) can ruin your life. You say or do something that can be used against you, and when found out about, you go straight to jail. It really is scary because you can be pressured to do something then do it, then the people that pressured you have evidence to send you to prison. Omegle should be a much bigger subject on parents minds. I know tons of people who were groomed through this website as children, including myself. I have some Horrible memories including an older teenager blackmailing me for sexual acts when I was around 12. It was traumatic, and it’s sad to know I could’ve avoided that if my parents had payed attention.
Parents shouldn't stop supervising their children and monitoring till at least 13 or 14. As long as they raise them right and monitor chats up till that age they should be fine on there unless they have bad mental health.

Thank you for making this video. When I was 9-12 years old I went on there to talk with people. I saw racists, homophobes, p3dos and creepy grown men on there grooming me. One recorded me and threatened to post me on every xxx site if I didn't let my little brother who was about 10 at the time in the act. I completely realized the reality of things after that. I don't know if he just has that cp video and shared it with other p3dos, or if he posted online for it to be dug up later. I'm just glad my brother is safe. Omegle is a wild place and that can have astronomical consequences. NEVER let your children especially young children on the internet unsupervised until AT LEAST 13 years old. If I had gotten that same expectation, I wouldn't have to be anxious almost everyday knowing that that video could be on anyone's device.
When I was in high school, my friends and I used to have sleepovers, during which we would stay up late into the night, video-chatting with random people on Omegle. I never really got the gist of the site. I didn't get why people thought it was so fun. Why would you want to do what is basically video-chat roulette? 9:40 Over time, as a young girl using omegle, I learned that the tag “ROBLOX” for video chat is just a big ped0-group looking for kids. Every time I would go on that tag, it’d be those point games, a man turning his phone down from the ceiling to his parts when he saw me, black screens asking for me to do bad things, etc. I rarely ever saw other kids there that liked ROBLOX, except for the few that have no idea or sometimes girls who just wanted that attention and praise. Trying to spread this so people become wary and report it.
The saddest part is, we could easily avoid being too reliant on internet. Having a hobby, socialise, productive working or even going outside is good enough. I think there absolutely is something to be said about inadequate moderation on large platforms, like obscene violence, death, animal abuse, illegal images etc. absolutely should be prohibited and platforms that host them should be criticized. I have been on Omegle before and I never saw a checkbox that said the website was for 18+ users... I remember trying it for the first time right around the time it was gaining popularity on UA-cam... the fact that this site didn't start informing users until now is a little bit sad
I literally got my ip pulled and panicked that's when i realised ip doesn't show my accurate address + those 2 guys looked like teens so no way they are coming for me or are they? 💀
They only got your Public IP address so they can't even track you. If you live in a densely populated area then they can't track u at all. Also, they can't really do anything with your public IP address unless they are actually connected to your network. So chill out, it's no biggie. Channels like these make it look like a huge deal.

Dang, the more horror stories I hear about kids who got groomed(or worse 😰) by creeps on the internet, the more I realize how lucky I was that nothing like that ever happened to me. I was on sites no kid should ever be, such as Omegle and Kik and came out unharmed. I got super lucky and I feel so bad for the ones that weren't. And I'm not gonna fault my parents for not keeping me off those sites. Believe me, they tried. My mom tried so hard to drill into my head that these sites are super dangerous especially for kids, yet my dumbass wouldn't listen. If you tell an adolescent to stay off whatever app or website, that only makes them want to use it more, and they'll wait until you're not looking to secretly use it. If I could talk to my younger self, I'd show them these videos and maybe help them realize through real stories that happened that the internet can be a very unsafe place for kids. I hope videos like this will help people realize that this stuff is no joke. That's part of the reason I'm never having kids, because the world just keeps getting more dangerous and it's damn near impossible to get them to take internet safety seriously.
Same with me. I think the fact that your mom warned you might've helped you stay away from ppl like this. I went on these platforms but knew not to trust random strangers, knew it was disgusting for adults to wanna interact with kids, and also knew the internet was dangerous. Any time I went on Omegle I'd cover my camera until the other person appeared, so if it was a creepy old man or someone being inappropriate I'd skip them before they saw me. Glad we made it out safe and sad so many ppl didn't
Also luckily I have never witnessed anything horrific being shared on screen. I think maybe the fact that I was scared, shy and had been taught about the dangers of the internet generally meant that the few times I was on Omegle I didn't stay for long. But I was present in other websites and made friendships with adults as a teen, but told my mom everything. I even started to get from this one man like 20 years older than me, and my mom knew about everything, so if anything weird started happening she'd pick up on it before myself. Luckily he never even came close to trying anything, at most he'd vent about random personal stuff to me and while it was annoying he never pressured me into doing anything or into staying in a friendship. Genuinely think he was just a bit of a loner. But I'm aware nowadays that my case is an exception!
I used those sites as well as a kid. I never got the talk about it being dangerous. I figured that out on my own. I developed my own thinking which in my case is good.
you can only get so much information from an IP address, unless you're working with law enforcement and have a warrant to go talk to the ISP about tracking the IP belonging to them. All you can get is country, region, maybe zip code. That's it

i can't believe i used Omegle a few times in 2008 when i was 13. I was neglected and lonely and I'm grateful nothing bad happened to me back then and that it is gone now.
Omegle lets you connect or even bond with random people online, however this can come with its own forms of consequences. People don't always have the purest intentions.

Omegle was the beginning of my mental downfall, at the age of 13 I was groomed by a 40 or something ish man on Omegle.
He had me recorded, knew my name, my parents, my location. He had me added on Facebook for 2 years. Made to send him explicit pictures of myself until I had enough and just blocked him.
To this day I’m scared of seeing him again, even hearing his name sends me into a spiral . Please keep an eye out on your children, don’t give them unlimited or unrestricted access to anything online. You don’t want to end up like me

11:13 this cannot be anymore true. About two years ago, my dad found a card shop in our area (our family being more gamers, at least in my household) and we met this amazing guy I’ll call Derek, he is 39.
I played Pokémon with him a lot until I started to find him kinda weird and annoying. My little sister (this is important) played every game with him. DND, Pokémon, he even taught her Magic! They were best friends 39 and 11. (These ages are now, back then it was 37 and 9) He became a very fond family friends, and we trusted him (except for me. I didn’t like him, I didn’t know why but I just didn’t like him. I mean I found him annoying but looking back, the vibes he gave were more than “annoying”) My dad and him were BEST. FRIENDS. Which makes sense, since they were close in age. They both were fond of Naruto which led to an impromptu ramen night. We also played board games with him. A lot. We played so much that him, my sister, and my mom were going to play with him on February 5th of this year (2023) marked in my calendar.
My dad was at work. Well, unfortunately he never showed…or…fortunately. In an attempt to figure this out, my sister made a comment. “I’ll ask him on discord when he will get here.” With a dad who works at a prison and a mom who lost her best friend in highschool due to a kidnapping, this raised some LARGE flags. Well my dad and sister went to the card shop one day and I was on me and my sisters shared computer. Well my mom calls me and asks me to bring the computer and I do, having no real reason not to as I had nothing to hide. The thing that she said after she opened and looked at the apps “You don’t have discord on here?” I said no as I didn’t ever want to use it and my sister had it on her phone rather that computer. She gave it back but this struck me weird.
Once they got home, my mom took my sisters phone and looked through her and Derek’s messages. He had been messaging her since December. At the beginning, it was just Pokémon and things like that. But he started asking for things. It started off with just asking for pictures of her (face) and when she didn’t and stood her ground he would send her pictures of his face so it would encourage her to. Her being hot-headed and and as bendable as a rock, she didn’t. He also told her how much he loved to hug her and wished he could cuddle her. As time went on and my sister not wanting to do anything with him, he got more aggressive. Luckily, this is when we found out.
His threats were starting to get worse and probably would’ve led to him DOING these things to her. The police was notified through a friend of my dads (who was higher than him and could do something about it, prison workers) They went to his house, searched his things and made sure he hadn’t TOUCHED any children, which is still being determined, and he has since been banned (my dad is good friends with the owner, it’s a small town card shop.) and was LAUGHED at when he went to the card shops discord server to go cry about it (EVERYONE it the card shop had been warned, because children were prominent)

now that omegle is retired from the internet, me and another friend went on a similar website called Emerald (I think). We spent 2 evenings on there, hanging around and documenting how many NSFW things we saw.

I remember when I went on Omegle when I was around 14 and this grown man I was talking to went full on "You're very mature for your age" and asked me to flash. Thankfully I didn't do that. There were several other creeps who I came across but that was just the one I have the clearest memory of. There was also a bunch of people who called me ugly and I think that really impacted my self esteem. Two guys made me cry and I never went on Omegle again.

Back when I was much younger, one of the biggest things you heard from everyone was how online chatrooms are dangerous, especially for kids (we're taking like 7-12 specifically) & to avoid them.

If they asked me a name off the rip, I'd always just make one up. Granted the only people I would stop and give the time of day to were people who didn't immediately ask ASL/name off the rip. That only has two outcomes: an extremely boring conversation or they're trying to scam you.
I'm watching this after Omegle being shut down . In fairness back in the day stuff like this was rare(at least in my experience) but has grown more and more out of control. I'm happy the owner finally made the right decision to end it. Even if it did have to be through the courts.

There is no report button on Omegle. There should be. You should also be forced to register an account to use it. A lot of things could be done to make it safer.
Of course, the internet itself has some risk either way. But services sometimes neglect to make it more difficult for predators, thus making it so much easier for them to do what they do.,
Edit: And it looks like Omegle is gone. OmeTV and app which does basically the same thing, required you to link it with your social media. Close enough.

While omegle's purpose allows you to connect and meet people worldwide, using it nowadays is risky in my opinion. Even in the early 2000s to 2010s, online chatrooms are used as easy platforms for bullying, harassment, and worst, predators.
As someone who's been addicted to the internet since 2003, I guarantee you the internet hasn't become more risky, internet users have simply become less ignorant. The internet used to be the Wild Wild West.

These sites (including discord) can ruin your life. You say or do something that can be used against you, and when found out about, you go straight to jail. It really is scary because you can be pressured to do something then do it, then the people that pressured you have evidence to send you to prison. I actually remember snitching on my sister when I found out she was on there.

Thank you for making this video. When I was 9-12 years old I went on there to talk with people. I saw racists, homophobes, p3dos and creepy grown men on there grooming me. One recorded me and threatened to post me on every xxx site if I didn't let my little brother who was about 10 at the time in the act. I completely realized the reality of things after that. I don't know if he just has that cp video and shared it with other p3dos, or if he posted online for it to be dug up later. I'm just glad my brother is safe. Omegle is a wild place and that can have astronomical consequences. NEVER let your children especially young children on the internet unsupervised until AT LEAST 13 years old. If I had gotten that same expectation, I wouldn't have to be anxious almost everyday knowing that that video could be on anyone's device.

When I was in high school, my friends and I used to have sleepovers, during which we would stay up late into the night, video-chatting with random people on Omegle. I never really got the gist of the site. I didn't get why people thought it was so fun. Why would you want to do what is basically video-chat roulette? I'd rather not see random fat guys yanking one out or get connected with script kiddies who try to scare me by revealing my IP address.

Had a chat with one or two nice people, saw some creepy guys and "the elephant underwear", but nothing actually happened to me. that was years ago (9, 10 years ago) still, I could've been in real danger but I would risk it as a teen. nowadays, I'm just glad nothing happened to me back then. It was only for one day I went into that website, then never went back.

Over time, as a young girl using omegle, I learned that the tag “ROBLOX” for video chat is just a big ped0-group looking for kids. Every time I would go on that tag, it’d be those point games, a man turning his phone down from the ceiling to his parts when he saw me, black screens asking for me to do bad things, etc.
I rarely ever saw other kids there that liked ROBLOX, except for the few that have no idea or sometimes girls who just wanted that attention and praise. Trying to spread this so people become wary and report it.

The saddest part is, we could easily avoid being too reliant on internet. Having a hobby, socialise, productive working or even going outside is good enough. We shouldn't have internet as our main source of happiness and entertainment, or else we could become one of the victim of internet exploitation

I started going on omegle at 11 because it was trending at the time and proceed to be groomed and exploited sexual hundreds of guys over about 4 year's and I find myself today still struggling because of the trauma I experienced and I mostly only did it because I was lonely and had nobody to talk to. I was the perfect victim for boys and grown men of all ages and I didn't see much wrong with it because I was getting compliments for my very developed body that I'd been bullied for all my life

I knew right from the beginning that Omegle was a bad idea. I never once used it, not even to see what it was like.
Back when I was a teenager, Omegle was made to allow kids, they had to change their policy because of how many kids were getting exposed to NFSW things on the site.
But any time I saw anything like that, all I would say was "NICE MAGNIFYING GLASS!" and they'd immediately disconnect.

They only got your Public IP address so they can't even track you. If you live in a densely populated area then they can't track u at all.
Also, they can't really do anything with your public IP address unless they are actually connected to your network.

Dang, the more horror stories I hear about kids who got groomed(or worse 😰) by creeps on the internet, the more I realize how lucky I was that nothing like that ever happened to me. I was on sites no kid should ever be, such as Omegle and Kik and came out unharmed. I got super lucky and I feel so bad for the ones that weren't. And I'm not gonna fault my parents for not keeping me off those sites. Believe me, they tried. My mom tried so hard to drill into my head that these sites are super dangerous especially for kids, yet my dumbass wouldn't listen. If you tell an adolescent to stay off whatever app or website, that only makes them want to use it more, and they'll wait until you're not looking to secretly use it. If I could talk to my younger self, I'd show them these videos and maybe help them realize through real stories that happened that the internet can be a very unsafe place for kids. I hope videos like this will help people realize that this stuff is no joke. That's part of the reason I'm never having kids, because the world just keeps getting more dangerous and it's damn near impossible to get them to take internet safety seriously.

I think maybe the fact that I was scared, shy and had been taught about the dangers of the internet generally meant that the few times I was on Omegle I didn't stay for long. But I was present in other websites and made friendships with adults as a teen, but told my mom everything. I even started to get from this one man like 20 years older than me, and my mom knew about everything, so if anything weird started happening she'd pick up on it before myself. you can only get so much information from an IP address, unless you're working with law enforcement and have a warrant to go talk to the ISP about tracking the IP belonging to them. All you can get is country, region, maybe zip code. That's it

when i was 14 i remember that i was going on omegle (im 22 now) a lot of people of my country at my age used to go on omegle to meet people and just to hangout. i was on omegle for about a few minutes and the next match i found, was a recording of me in the place of the videochatting where the person should be. i was shocked bc they recorded (o wasnt doing anything innapropriate it just showed my face) it was a "normal" video but it showed. i was so shocked and terrief, ive never entered the website again. just knowing that the person behind this recorded me and it wasnt even nothing innaproaite, only my face terrified me. im glad ive never sent nudes or innapropriate stuff to anyone online. i remember my parents didnt monitore me when i was a child but somehow, ive always had that sense gut that told me that i shouldnt trust people online, im glad i always followed my guts. thanks for the video and for info, you won a new sub! ❤
