I've got a Philodendron Esmeraldense on the way. However, it's only a small one with four leaves and another one getting ready to unfurl. the biggest leaf looks to be about 14-16cm. So it will take me quite a while to grow this guy out. But I have been mesmerized by yours standing in the background of each of these videos. And I just had to find one for myself. I keep an excel spreadsheet on all of my indoor plants, and a wish list at the top. When I started, I listed 15 rare wish-list plants that I craved because of their sheer beauty, shape, rarity and challenge. And while I am relatively new to the rare plant collecting society, of my top fifteen wish-list plants, I have already acquired nine of them. Most of them are very small or cuttings, but at least I have them. And I'm determined to grow them out and have the mature big plants I so deeply desire. I'm a biologist by trade, and would never have believed that plants would be such an obsession for me. Now I have close to 100 plants in my house. But we all know that story, as most of us have lived it. Cheers!
Aloha from Maui, You’ve worn me down, staging all your videos in front of your amazing Esmeraldense…. I finally broke down and ordered an unrooted single leaf node. So I’ll have a lot of catching up to do, haha…. Appreciate all your information, knowledge, passion, & inspiration!!! Mahalo & many Blessings……….
I got mine about 6 months ago after I had found your channel and had started to stare at your Esmeraldense in awe every single video :D So I bought a juvenile plant, fully rooted and with 4 leaves as big as my hand for 80€ from a private seller here in Germany. I can confirm it grows very quickly, just as quickly as my Jerry Horne (yes, it IS as good as everybody says!). Can recommend it. I hope my Esme will grow lush and big as yours and will be the stunner of the show one day. Wish me luck :D
Awwww amazing!!!! yeyyyyyyyyyyyyy that is excellent glad it is growing so happily. ohhhhh i have never had the Jerry Horne, but i have heard good things, maybe i shall be on the lookout for it. thanks for sharing your experience.
Beautiful plant, very informative video. I bought 1 from ecuagenera and it dropped all its leaves immediately and the plant never recovered. I will try again after watching this. Thanks!
@@tanya.quintieri take pictures upon arrival and if you have any issues be sure to notify them, with pictures, of any damage within 3 days. After that I was told " sorry" 😔
@@aquaman461 Seriously?! That’s pretty bad. Most stores allow up to 30 days. Well, I‘ll see how it goes. I did order from Ecuagenera Europe, so the plants shouldn’t be traveling too long (Germany -> Czech Republic).
I imported a bare-root one from them too right when the weather turned cold. Oops. It dropped all but one leaf and even aborted the new leaf that was going to unfurl 💔 . From that, I learned it needs lots of humidity when you first get it in (whereas I freed it from the plastic immediately upon getting it without it giving it additional humidity). Best of luck and please share updates if you’ve learned more since your comment 🙌🏽🙏🏽
Your Esmeraldense is so stunning. I admire this plant in the background of your videos all the time, such plant goals 🤩. You put so much helpful info into all your vids, however i was wondering what size pot you have it in ? As a philo i know they dont need to be repotted very often but for the size of those very impressive leaves does it need a fairly big pot for what i can only imagine would be a huge root ball or is the root system on these quite small for a manageable pot size?
Awww thank you for your kind words, they truly mean the world to me. good question, to be fair the pot size for the size of the plant is quite small, i am currently on holiday until the end of this week, i will be back with my plants next week and i can check and come back to you on exact size, but i think 8 inch, believe it or not.
I bought a one leaf rooted cutting and now it pushed 2 leaves in span of 2 months and another one arriving. Thriving in my living room in a bookshelf with growlight and heat mat.
i bought my esmeraldense from ecuagenera 2 weeks ago , and know it's suffering . the new leaf is dying ,i checked the roots and they are okay , i think that it's having issue acclimating
Like all plants…just be patience, they are smart and will adapt. Esmeraldense is quite slow even here in Indonesia and not going to jump their size that fast, but very rewarding watching every new leaf with her reddish tinge.
Got mine from ecuagenera 3 mths ago. The roots rotted so I had to cut it up and reroot it. They rooted pretty quick and pushed out its first baby leaf after 3 mths
Yes the regale is on the right a bit lower down, the one at the top is the much debated on this channel Mettalicum, at least it was sold to me as a metalicum
Oh no i am sorry to hear about the leaves getting stuck, i find with mine when it is pushing out new leaves during the early days it will drink up water like mad, if i miss it then they can get a bit stuck, so maybe worth just checking the soil when the new leaves are emerging, it might help 😊 ohhh good to see that the prices are coming down a bit now
I'm placing an import order and i just went through like 10 of your videos until i found the one where you identified this plant. it's so gorgeous. But i think you might have the narrow. Just by looking at how Ecuagenera has them on their website, if that's worth going by.
Have you noticed that you mention kaylee in almost all your videos? Remember this is your channel and you rock… you have a different vibe.

Great, informative video!
I have an esmeraldense on the way!❤❤❤ you enabler, Memo! 😀😃🙂
I just ordered one, simply because I‘ve been eyeing yours for months. Can’t wait for it to arrive!! Thank you for this one!!
I've been wanting you to talk about this big fat beauty since I started watching your videos!
Hopefully this was worth the wait ☺️💚🌿
Thanks for sharing this plant with us. I LOL’d at janky support sticks and hope!
I was hoping you might appreciate that comment, it pretty much is janky support sticks and hope that is keeping it up at this point. 😂
@@Houseplantygoodness is hope only available in the EU, or can I get it in the States? Amazon maybe?

OMG, I’m waiting for mine right now, also from Ecuagenera. Now I’m scared.

Amazing, such a great success story. also good to hear it is doing well in the living room, i am assuming with no additional humidity right?

It's on my wishlist. Do you know if you have the narrow or the regular form?
Gorgeous plant!
Found this video is helpful 😊
Is that large dark leaved anthurium in the top right your regale??? Whatever it is it looks beautiful!
Yes the regale is on the right a bit lower down, the one at the top is the much debated on this channel Mettalicum, at least it was sold to me as a metalicum
Actually I love all ruffled leaves!
PS: After reading many comments I see you’ve single handily started an Esmeraldene Movement, haha lol……….
Mine the leaves always get stuck 🤦🏽♀️ they are more and more available I think in us and are around 150-200 with good size leaves.

Anyone know the humidity requirements for this plant? I’m in Florida hoping to grow outdoors
Love you and your videos. 💕 Don’t care about the ground work. 🤦♀️😂 I
