@Cr4shJuh1s Seppo Henrik Räty (born 27 April 1962, in Helsinki) is a Finnish javelin thrower. His personal best throw was 96.96 m in 1991, which was a world record at the time, however this throw was made using a modified 'Nemeth' javelin which was banned by the IAAF later that year and all records made using this javelin were retrospectively deleted. Räty's best throw with the current javelin is 90.60 m in 1992.
@brandonjolliffe well i've been doing it for three years and i'm a junior in high school. but the javelin always tells you what you're doing wrong, if it goes to th eleft or right means your leting it go sideways, the best way to keep it straight while in the air is to keep the javeling back, don't bed your elbow and once your hand is about to let go of the javelin make sure the javelin is a little to the side of your head not on top but very near it.

Räty's best throw with the current javelin is 90.60 m in 1992. He was World Champion in 1987 and an Olympic medalist in the javelin throw (silver 1992, bronze 1988 and 1996). He was nicknamed "Tohmajärven
yep, however the equivalence of those distances is the same distance minus 10% in this case those records could be with the new model 94 m. So is posible that Jan Zelezny were able to throw almost 110m with that model and maybe could be throw more with a good wind o_0
in 1956 Felix Erausquin of spain threw the javelin over 83 meters using the now banned (discus style) technique. A Finn named Pentti Saarikoski threw 93m with the same method. There were NO 100m throws although all of these were beyond the world record at the time and there was speculation that discus throwers would be able to adapt their specialty to throws possibly exceeding 400 feet.
Yes, good for sport. Like in 2008 silver went to cuba and bronze to Japan. But Walcott is not high here thought, only under 85m and this vid is about personal bests!
@gladganjagabber Wrong! Jav is so badass. It's unique and makes you look like a spartan when you can throw it far. Easily used to impress friends too because not many people do it.
How you can set this shit like he was doping? He was extremely talented guy with enormous whip and put this discipline on the higher level. Jan Zelezny - The King of Iron and Gold !!!!! Live forever my hero!
@brandonjolliffe heyy bud. i just started, but ive noticed. that if when your about to throw the jav, you just move your hand back as if it were just replacing your shoulder as you move, and that halps me keep my arm straight
Uwe Hohn is not on the list because his 104,80M was with an old model. And Seppo Raty's 96.96M is not on the list because he threw it with a banned javelin design.
if you got some time you should get some strenght in Fitness but if u dont have time you should improwe your tehnic.. Be sure you are quick whit your legz and impulse step. Also you must not do a break when you are in throw position. Im 15 years old too im throwing 700g too and last year i threw this javelin 44meters but this year im catching entry distance 60m for world championship in Brixia , Italy.. i throw 59.20 and im going to a compatioiton in 2 hours :) Sorry for bad english
I agree that Uwe Hohn did throw a brutal one, but as it landed the way it did it was, according to rules of the day considered invalid. The javelin for men was for this reason redesigned in ´86 I believe. Therefore only records from after stand nowadays. Females did not get redesign till ´99. Still, there is no question that Czech Republic is "The javelin land".
@breekbaard uwe hohn might have the longest throw in history but when he threw the 104.84m throw the jav was lighter than it is now that's why no body else has gotten anywhere close to as far as that throw
Banned javelin and Old javelin is a big diffrence. Old Javelin = javelin before 1987 Banned javelin = Modified javelin with a rough surface.( Better fly ability ) Jan Zelezny's old WR 94,74m was with the banned javelin to and was canceled. Seppo's 91.98m and 96,96m is with that jav to. So it doesnt count.
TomtheBomb321 Julius Yego is beast he threw over 92 , 92.72 meters today at Birds Nest in Bejing first shot of that kind after 10 years,a guess that moving to Finland to train with Piironen is doing him good
uhm no? Al these throwers threw with the IAAF certified javelins made after 1990 or something (dunno when the new javelin was introduced) after that East German got over 104 meters.
hey yo dont have enough videos :S, where are those personal records from the other trhowers, or at least some memorable throws. I think that I got those ones. Whatever nice video =)
y its 98,48 now....with older type it was 104,80 by Uwe Hohn, then IAAF moved the center of gravity to shorted throws, but Jan Železný with old type throws over 100 meters many times on training
One other thing, some of you have talked about zelezny as a "stick armed" small weak guy? Apparently your knowledge is limited to what you see on youtube. Zelezny power cleaned over 200kg (440 pounds) and could perform an 11' lateral hop. I don't know about you, but that sounds awfully powerful to me.
no they moved the handle and put the weight more in the tip.. So it didnt go as far and also so it would stick in the ground better. after Hahn threw the 340. It had to be changed because there wasnt any room left. It changed nearly 20 years ago. If the athletes of today could throw the old javelin it would go alot farther than the athletes of the 80s threw it.
Why would it BS? Its the current regulation javelin thrown! No one has a choice, we have to throw it! The event is always changing. New javelin, better throws, better throwers!
Holy crap! What a professional man! I have been learning this for 1 year and barely get to 60m.
Funny how Železný seems to have the smallest muscles, at least up top, and beats them all... Insane speed and technique!
My favourite javelin video, I know Vasilevskis, It's a big honor ;) To see him here
Nice job ;) Song hitted in 10 ;) perfect
wow...this song,video is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!! BIGLIKE

I really appreciate how much time ThomasTrimble has put into making this vid!!!
superb all javelin thrower i love track nd field

A new model was introduced in 1986, and all records started fresh.

JAN is czech national sporting legend...maaybe not only czech ! LIVE LONG , IRONMAN!
yep, however the equivalence of those distances is the same distance minus 10% in this case those records could be with the new model 94 m. So is posible that Jan Zelezny were able to throw almost 110m with that model and maybe could be throw more with a good wind o_0
Great vid, sick tune!
JZ nobody within 5 meters of his best and WR.RESPECT.
+Jesenje Kise Seppo Räty Made 96.60 Meters
Rohler is now within 5 meters since this year :D
Like I said, was thrown with a rough tail Nemeth which was later declared illegal by the IAAF.
in 1956 Felix Erausquin of spain threw the javelin over 83 meters using the now banned (discus style) technique. A Finn named Pentti Saarikoski threw 93m with the same method. Hey man !!!!! You forget the Seppo Raty, with his 91.98 he is unforgettable
I can't help myself, but I must laugh. All those muscled athletes... beaten by just an ordinary thin guy. :-) Big respect to Honza from Czechia. ;-)
nice work! great vid!
@Mydern Räty's best throw with the current javelin is 90.60 m in 1992
Yes, good for sport. Like in 2008 silver went to cuba and bronze to Japan.
But Walcott is not high here thought, only under 85m and this vid is about personal bests!
this is a dope vid and what song is this?
best javelin vid
@gladganjagabber Wrong! Jav is so badass. It's unique and makes you look like a spartan when you can throw it far. Easily used to impress friends too because not many people do it.
Honza Železný is still best. I´m so proud, that I´m from the Czech Republic. Doopravdy smekám. A hlavně, že jsi objevil Báru Špotákovou.:)
How you can set this shit like he was doping? He was extremely talented guy with enormous whip and put this discipline on the higher level.
Jan Zelezny - The King of Iron and Gold !!!!!
Live forever my hero!
Thanks for this video, cause I come from Czech rep...:-))
@brandonjolliffe heyy bud. i just started, but ive noticed. that if when your about to throw the jav, you just move your hand back as if it were just replacing your shoulder as you move, and that halps me keep my arm straight
when i trouw, it doesn't stick into the ground.... it kinda goes a bit in the ground & then jumps out... is there a techniqe that i need to know?
Three of those throws are throwed in Kuortane, Finland :D
Please tell the song name.. it owns :) I would like to listen to this while throwing javelin myself in real life :)
Juu näinhän se on. Räty ansaitsis oman videon: Hardest javelin thrower ever prkl! :D
Uwe Hohn is not on the list because his 104,80M was with an old model.
And Seppo Raty's 96.96M is not on the list because he threw it with a banned javelin design.
+Dennis Barnhoorn How?
Nemeth had javelins with a roughed up tail, they were banned later and the WR from Raty was declared invalid.
He may be a legend in javlein sports but this is just the top10 on distance with the javelin which is legal nowadays.
estos hombres son lo maximo, seria genial ser como ellos
julius yego has to be here now!! 92.72m!! crazy
Did Zelezny use the old model of javelin in that WR throw?
@HuntKromatik its genetics - white men strenght (javelin , strongest man etc) , black man speed (sprint etc)
Zelezny had half the muscular volume compared to most other guys in the field. He must have had great technique to overthrow them all by so far.
The reason it was banned was safety, I have thrown this way and the javelin will come out sideways sometimes, landing on the track, in the crowd, etc.
@WackidWally2 He got magnesium on his hands ^^
if you got some time you should get some strenght in Fitness but if u dont have time you should improwe your tehnic.. Be sure you are quick whit your legz and impulse step. nice video, however you dont have the videos from those marks =S. I think that I have most of them =)
I don't see the link between Zelezny and bad technique
Je bedoeld East Germany? Dat is geen land, was een tijdje geleden voor de muur viel een deel van Duitsland (het arme gedeelte :P) waar de West Duitsers niks meer mee te maken wilden krijgen.

is it? it was 1992 when he did that throw. If it was as you said, sorry i missed the point
song name please!!!!!!!! thanks for the vid!
@breekbaard uwe hohn might have the longest throw in history but when he threw the 104.84m throw the jav was lighter than it is now that's why no body else has gotten anywhere close to as far as that throw
@Mydern His 96.96 was with a later banned javelin. I'm only the video maker not the rule maker. He was a great thrower. One of the best ever.
But Still He Threw 90.60m, but 91.98m was also thrown by a banned javelin.
Banned javelin and Old javelin is a big diffrence.
Old Javelin = javelin before 1987
Banned javelin = Modified javelin with a rough surface.( Better fly ability )
Jan Zelezny's old WR 94,74m was with the banned javelin to and was canceled. Seppo's 91.98m and 96,96m is with that jav to.
So it doesnt count.
This is Sparta!
who knows the song name, please tell, it very much was pleasant to me
@santeenl Wow what DVD?
Jan is the man.
Julius Yego has to be added now cause of his 91.39 haha its crazy
TomtheBomb321 Julius Yego is beast he threw over 92 , 92.72 meters today at Birds Nest in Bejing first shot of that kind after 10 years,a guess that moving to Finland to train with Piironen is doing him good
haha yes i am watching the live stream right now this is absolutely crazy!
+TomtheBomb321 you know whats crazy... zelezny
+marysakayenn and if you spot his WR at Jena, it was over 100 m from mark he throw javelin away....1,5m before the line
Ganjamilk that doesnt matter, its a number just like any other :-)
Seppo Räty, perkele !
@SuperVbull Not in distance
On best distance this is correct but for performances in major championships and consistency Backley and Thorkildsen should be in the top 5 at least.
Kershorn won cause he had the best form, big luck and the mainly, the others rivals were been totally impotent in that day
@andrewbower86 THANK YOU!!!!
it's with a banned javelin to.
absoltely true, im proud of being czech
Miksei Rätyä näy videossa, perkele! :)
115 is outstanding for your age, stick with it.
y its 98,48 now....with older type it was 104,80 by Uwe Hohn, then IAAF moved the center of gravity to shorted throws, but Jan Železný with old type throws over 100 meters many times on training
@gribbo97 ummm actually you definetly wouldnt want to go greater than 45 degrees
@volyn 7 pieces?
Song Akala-shakespear
With these spears Aki Parviainen has the second best throw in the world. (the throw that was shown).
Glad everyones enjoyin the vid! Hope to put something together soon so subscribe! :)
where does jan zelezny come from?
Javelin is probably the only field event that is practical as a means to kill someone.
@TheCaspator best quotes
no they moved the handle and put the weight more in the tip.. So it didnt go as far and also so it would stick in the ground better.
after Hahn threw the 340. It had to be changed because there wasnt any room left. It changed nearly 20 years ago. If the athletes of today could throw the old javelin it would go alot farther than the athletes of the 80s threw it.
Around 50m would be very good, but anything over 40m goes :P
Where is Uwe Hohn? The man who had changed the whole sport?
haha Bob this is Iain Trimble. Just put Thomas cuz Iain was all ready takin.
@breekbaard Because you compare them, you dont know if hohn was able to reach this top10, and he was prob on steroids...
from doing jav myself, throwing that far is just ridiculous
thnks
What is the song?
im 13 and i haad to do jaavelin todaay for my schools sports caarnivaal. maan. its a LOT harder thaan itt looks.. T__T
the song?
WOW!
Yeah I kinda tossed this together. I couldnt even get any of Steve and Gast.
... where is seppo räty?!:o
Why would it BS? Its the current regulation javelin thrown! No one has a choice, we have to throw it! The event is always changing. New javelin, better throws, better throwers!
@canadianboy231 practice makes perfect

Where is Seppo Räty's 96,96?
Great video. And oh yeah where is Seppo? But gotta say, that Zelenzy was The Greatest! Look at his hand, that's like a MF whiplash!
try 55 meters with the 4kilos hammer at 15.
