Already two tournaments won for Felix while it's only February! I hope he continues in this form in the coming months, because we miss the FAA of 2 years ago who beat almost everyone.

Beat almost everyone? he did well but at points in the season when rhetip players don't really care about. Needs to improve in slams and bigger events ...not just events where the top boys are not mostly there

Definitely! The circuit needs more one-handers at the top 100. The trend towards two-handed backhand domination has been undeniable. More control, better returns and reliability. I love both styles. But damn... I pray so the one-handed backhand will never go dead.
Over the last decade or so, there was an average of 10 to 15% of one-handers in the top 100.... 20 years ago and beyond was way more. So the downwards trend is a fact. Having said that, it is very good for the sport to keep the tradition alive and see guys like Kovacevic and Perricard. Even if it is in the order of 5 to 10% of one-handers among the top 100.
Congratulations Felix for the second title this year, wow ! I hope he keeps going strong ! This was a super close match, Felix was able to close it at the end with very solid serving. Kovacevic played great, I hope to see him playing in later stage of Tournaments again, beautiful one handed backhand!
Aleks trained for nearly 4 years (ages 15-18) at the academy where I coached. He was the 4th or 5th best athlete at the academy, but the best technically. Christian Alshon and James Ignatowich were 2 top player there as well. They're both now top ranked professional pickleball players. Both were splitting sets with Aleks regularly.

Highlights don't show it but there was exactly one break point in the whole third set, it was a second serve to Kovacevic's forehand at 5-5 30-40, and he hit it long. I think Felix regained the belief that he could win after that. The margins are so fine at this level.

I appreciated how gracious a loser the American was and then FAA spoke and told him when he was around 12 years old they met in Florida and how Felix thought he was like Federer and couldn’t believe how good he was, then Felix talked about the ball kids and organizers, such a good human being, I will always be cheering for FAA.
He's like a duplicate of Federer/Stan, just like how Sinner is a duplicate of Djokovic.

There was a time when I was critical of a country's top players for NOT playing in the Davis Cup but these days, it's the norm and not the exception. Thumbs up to Felix for winning. Davis Cup is a second-string or third-string tournament so not a big deal to skip or win it these days. Its glory days are GONE.
Excelent match for both, Felix needs these victories for returning his usual level and Kovacevic seems to be a player will sound strong. And... well, maybe it is a matter of tastes, but my eyes cry with these "Cake Boss" courts.

Unreal level from both. Alex was nervous in the first set, but after that, it was 50-50. Felix showing his indoor prowess to just barely scrape across the line. Kovacevic will continue to cause problems for the world's best and win a title soon if he keeps this up.
