As some of you mentioned, you can use a 3.5 stereo jack to connect midi from the Push 3 to the Microfreak. I honestly didn't know and never thought about it but that possible and easier than connecting two adapter...
Glad I could help you with this
Not sure if it‘s possible without an adapter: Push is A and Arturia is B
Torso is A
I tried this with two different 3.5 stereo jacks and neither worked
Love it, just hooked my whole studio up last night to my Push3. This video would have saved me a ton of time hahaha!
haha tbh I did this vidfeo for myself too in case in the future I am struggling doing a specific setup, i know this video will probably help me ...
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
Great information. Ableton is just missing giving out this clear informations.
glad was helpful !
@@audioreakt yeah this list should be somewhere in the top of Push 3 configuration/ audio setup:
Push 3 Audio outputs
Analog out
1-2 Main out
3-4 Headphone out (normally it mirrors the Master)
CV out
5-6 CV 1 (Tip - Sleeve)
7-8 CV 2 (Tip-Sleeve)
ADAT output
9-10 1-2 (Configure in your Audio interface)
11-12 3-4
13-14 5-6
15-16 7-8
For the inputs they have a different configuration: after 1-2 (Input on the device), ADAT 1-2 starts on 3/4 ..
thank you
You're welcome
nice video thank you! it would be great to see the data connection too
You mean the adat? It was planned and recorded but it's so messy that I cut it at the edit. Adat itself is pretty straightforward and actually the difficulty rely on which interface you are using. Some are easier than other. In my case I had an old moth 828 and had to do internal routing with bus in order to have adat working, but each interface is different
yeah 'adat' sorry :'D@@audioreakt
I really appreciate the 1440p / 4k video.
yes and I want to upgrade camera and lenses to get even a sharper image, hopefully before the end of the year !
Great video! Thanks for all the info. One question: does it work with a usb hub? When performing live I use 3 external synths and using usb midi for them all would be the best :)
thanks , I didnt try but i think i read somewhere that yes you can.
They really should have supplied the midi connectors for the price they are charging. To arm my external synths I just long press and it selects them.
especially the midi one because I didn't know but tehrese is actually two type of midi A and B and you ahve to be careful picking up the right one smh
Thanks for the great video. This works for me in Standalone mode but not in Controller mode. I get midi sent to my Digitone but when i connect the audio out from Digitone to Push in no sound, does this only work in Stand alone mode?
That's a good question, I actually never tried to use the push3 input/output in controller mode... You might need to do the routing in Ableton and not on the push if it's controller mode
tried to do this with my prologue but I failed
Would you know if it's possible to connect multiple devices via the USB A with a USB extender?
My band has 3 pedals that we use (Guitar, Bass and Vocal) and we use Ableton on a laptop to control patch changes with a CC Map 8 max4live device as well as launching samples and whatnot and so I'm hoping that the Push 3 can do this so we can stop relying on the laptop
it's possible, I'm using a d link usb hub and Im sending different midi notes to 3 different synths via external instrument.
Can you send 32 audio tracks to a digital mixer over USB C from the Push 3 similar to hooking into a computer? with a Digital mixer that has that capability?
I don't think, I think for now USB is just for midi but not 100% sure, and still this can change in the future...
You could just use stereo TRS cable to connect Push 3 to Microfreak.
Yes someone mention it, although he also talk about midi a/midi b compatibility, so not sure...
Why not use a simple stereo 3.5mm audio cable to connect midi from the Torso to the Push 3 and the Arturia to the Push 3? I connect my Oxi One with a 3.5m stereo jack cable to my Push 3 and that is working perfect. Or is that not possible with the Torso and the Arturia?
to be honest I never thought of using a simple jack as for me midi was a different type of data but it might work indeed you are right. will try but it probably work. I just find out with push 3 that there are twqo sorts of midi A and B smh... learning everyday...
Push and Oxi uses type B, Arturia is A, so you need a phase changer
Can't you just use a 3.5mm TRS cable (i.e. stereo aux cable) to connect push 3 midi to microfreak midi?
yes Apparently you can, I didn't know and never thought about it tbh
Are you sure, as they have different trs topology: A vs B
how is latency?
there is no delay compensation like in the DAW right?
latency is ok, I have made a techno jam here where I didn't have any problem : ua-cam.com/video/sANUI1kGsGE/v-deo.html&lc=UgxcuyW5mRGGl4D4WEh4AaABAg. But i guess it depend how many and which device you used. Indeed there is no delaycompensation for now as far as i know. which I hope will be added soon...
@@audioreakt you can set your midi latency in the Project on your PC/Laptop and it will be saved once you load up the Project on the Push standalone. In my case 44khz /128Samples you have to set the Midi out latency for the push at -35ms and it will be dead on
What if I have 3 MIDI devices? How should i connect them?
All USB port
You can use midi and midi through with different midi Chanel for each devices. I didn't try to put a USB hub on it, but I think I read that it's working
