#Push3 #AbletonPush3
Thanks for watching! What do you think of Push 3?!
1st
Maschine plus just in a way off push 2 and with mpe(USP of product)
Mind blowing
I think it's time I get one 🤔
too expensive!!!!!
The best thing about push 3 release is that now push 2 is cheaper for me to buy
Stonks
Want to buy mine?
@@Jyibe I live in Europe :(
That is really the only great thing about it.
Imma selling mine if you re Intersted 😅 and I live in France
I've said this elsewhere, I am really impressed that Ableton chose a sustainable path for Push 3 in a consumerist world where we are expected to throw away perfectly good technology all in the name of repeating revenue. What a win for everyone.
So this is basically the best of Roli Blocks, Ableton & an MPC. NICE! Very interested in seeing what native instruments is going to do this year with their hardware as well.
My Push 2 died like 2 years ago, and I've been in sorrow ever since. Finally managed to put together money for a new one around christmas, but used the money on presents for my family instead. I also had a feeling that since Push 2 was out of stock everywhere in Norway (and other places), something new were on the horizon. I AM SOOOOOOOO HYPED!! LET'S GOOOOO 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lol if you're still hyped check the price
@@jsadecki1 Haha that was a shocker for sure. But I can buy the cheapest version and then upgrade it later to the portable version (so cool) 🙏Maybe even choose myself what kinda SSD, CPU etc? It's only about 25% more than what I paid for Push 2 like 6 years ago, so I'm okay with that. Nothing beats the Push (by far) for my workflow 🙂
@@aminoplaysgames that is a good point to be honest I have the push to right now but I only ever seemed to use it as a drum pad and the new one has really good drum pads however the specs of the new one just looks terrible but you're right it is good that you can upgrade it later
@@aminoplaysgames or you just get a used push 2 because the price of those just went way down
@@drkastenbrot I could ofc, but I really want the new features like MPE etc. Those pads seems crazy. And later I'll upgrade it to standalone 👌 Plus Push 2 had a LOT of updates over the years, Push 3 will get the same. So for me it's an easy buy, cost aside ofc 😄
As always Andrew, another superb upload. This though.. this is an absolute game changer, being able to replace processor, battery and hard drive as technology improves... there's nothing else like it, and give it a truly bright future !!!
Nicely done, amazing review and performances in just 11 min! Bravo 💥
It's cool, I have a Push 2 and I don't really feel like it's obsolete here at all. But there are a few features that I would definitely enjoy having, and the interface functionality is a major wishlist item, if I were still schlepping Push to live gigs that would save me a TON of time.
yeah, the new prices mean the old Push won't be obsolete anytime soon. , £400 Push 2, £879 Push 3 controller, £1669 Push 3 standalone, Plus there are some niffty single board Ryzen computers on the market which could very easily be moded to turn a push 2 into a standalone ;0)
I have a push one and its sooo far from obsolete.. the fact they are selling for $150 used now is insane..
@@AudioCheck12 same here, Push 1 & 2 and a couple of LaunchPad pro's including the latest. My guess is there'll be an MPE version of the LaunchPad pro, which already has some standalone features.
I am here for the refurbished Push 2's. Had to sell mine years back, but always missed having it. I liked iit for 'headless' use of ableton.
Amen - Push 2 remains as relevant today as in 2015.
The note on live gigs is on point however. The schlepp is real! 🙏🏻
Incomparable standalone for many producers. I couldn't imagine a better standalone.
Best Push 3 presentation of the 10+ i've seen so far. Congrats !
Your production quality both in terms of music and film is very crisp. Also, I'm a large fan of your 4 producers series and you've genuinely inspired me to improve my music so thanks for that!
Proper breakdown! As always the production quality here is next level. I think it has to be said that the upgrade kit feature is a game changer. This is huge.. and will possibly make this device future proof for a long time to come. Im sure that they will add some sort of arrangement view eventually and more bells and whistles over the next year. This is a very strong entry into the standalone market.
You're a phenomenal artist. Across all mediums. I very much appreciate the editting when explaining features, ie a clip rolls showing you doing x or y, as you're narrating.
Curt, and trim. Love it.
As far as the device goes. MPE seems to be on the rise(!). Thanks for your time
Stay like that man. Luv from the pnw
Song mode/arranger should definitely be in future update with this being standalone- it just make sense imo😭
I sure hope so. It's always seemed quite odd that Push completely ignored half of Live's functionality.
Akai fans have been saying this about the Live, One and X for....a decade now. I hope so too but...dunno. Apparently it's not so easy on a smaller system?
@@robertgarvansnyder4665 exactly!!
@@TheActualJae how maschine mk3 if it has arrangement mode?
@@OwenPrescott I’d really cry if they did that 😂
Wow! Nice job Andrew. Thanks. Push 3 seems to be most everything we'd hoped for and maybe more!
Loved the sounds you made at the end with the pulsar end the thing you looped and quantized
I can't believe they made it upgradable! So forward thinking and enviro when most tech companies are leaning into planned obsolesence
It astonishes me how in-depth you always go in describing the features of the devices you show us. It always feels like you explored everything and read the manual from page to page. Especially with the more Weird Gear!™️
Haha thank you I do like to explore and read manuals
In that case, you will definitely appreciate Loopop's review of the P3.
This is the review I’ve been waiting for 🔥🙏🏿
Thanks, that looks like an amazing piece of kit!
The MPE definitely seems like an awesome upgrade, but it does make me wonder how the new pads feel since they had to design around MPE functionality.
Man I know very little about Ableton and mainly just play on my baby grand, but this has inspired me to dive into the production/electronic world. The upgradability is fantastic for future proofing! So hype to purchase this, thanks Andrew 🙏
Should’ve just smoked crack instead… jk lol, enjoy getting further into the hobby. It’s truly amazing.
@@someonewhobitthedust9124 lmao short-term elation versus life-long creation…I’ll definitely take the latter. thanks! this will be sick for live performance too
i highly respect andrew huang man! interesting content as per usual
I know this isn't what the video is about, but I love it whenever you touch a bass. 👍
I always find your lines very effective. Got the Oblivion's one on my mind quite often since I first heard it!
Oh dang thank you honestly I’m so insecure about my bass writing lol
@@andrewhuang Oh, you really shouldn't!
I mean, that one made me make the face you do when you hear some good bass lines! (you know the one ahah)
🔥😉
@@andrewhuang i always love ur basslines
Just wrote basically the same comment, I didn't see yours. Totally agree with that :)
@drangal agreed
That standalone sequence jam sounds bomb!
I’m glad AL finally dropped AL Push 3 stand alone!!! I’ll be waiting to see what you create and with this new work flow!!!
Very informative. Short & sweet. Thank you Bro. Keep up the good work
Super sick. Amazing as always. Thanks so much for the video. You are part of the reason I have all kinds of electronic instruments choking my man space :)
Damn! Didn't know you could play a mean bass! Props! Keep up the good work, I really dig your vids!
That's a neat fretless bass line! Well done!
A pretty mellow review of a crazy upgrade
Ableton is incredible!!! Amazing!!! I am so excited with push 3!!!
been waiting so long for this.
Wow! Amazing review Andrew. I'm a Logic User but I will be getting A Push 3. The fact that you can upgrade the unit hardware and specs is a game changer for standalone beat machines. Ableton really cares about its users.... I may have to try Ableton again.
In the same boat! Looks like I’m going to have to save some serious cash though. With Ableton it’s gonna cost the same as a MacBook Pro.
Andrew, Excellent job ! video is very well done
Every track was very cool, thanks for the demo.
Beautiful demonstration
wow, this is HUGE!
Ableton has really pushed forward with this update to push!
Push 3 looks like a great upgrade compared to Push 2. It looks like the standalone version isn't fully standalone yet, but hopefully they'll add the arranger and other missing features soon. I've been using a Force instead since it's truly standalone and has great Linux compatibility, but Push 3 has some amazing features I'd love to use.
It's aesthetics are very nice. Beautiful Machine.
Sounds like Push 2, but even better. All the updates you mentioned seemed like really good useful features.
Yooo that bass tone though!! *chef kiss*
Excellent vid, nailed it.
2:06 this lil diddy you made right here was dope 🎹
so awesome! thanks for the great review.
One of the best musicians on UA-cam. Great writing, ability to explain to the point with very little fluff, and really showing what one person is capable of.
Cheers to many more years, Andrew!
Encore un lèche botte tkt il ira pas voir tes compos ni partager pour autant mec 😅
@@vaudronphilippe5415 looks like nobody has seen yours either though bro
Great Video. I cant wait to get this joint.
This is super cool! I don't think I'll ever get something like this myself, but I still find it exciting to see such technology developed. :)
Damn, this is just insane. I was planning on getting a Launchpad Pro to use as a standalone sequencer for my modular stuff, and owning a Push II I love the interface, but not the setup - this is incredible. I can’t afford one at the moment, but I’ll keep an eye out.
As someone that JUST dove into Ableton and Push 2, I'm excited and bummed.... I wish they had said more about it online.
those bass skills are fire
Great review bro
I want one!
as someone who uses push mainly for perfomance, this MPE change is amazing, cant wait to cop
what do the cops have to do with it
@HardcoreCetra it means he'll take out a loan to buy it and never pay it back. So it means pray no cops show up
@@aucusticguitar8069 🤣🤣🤣
@@aucusticguitar8069 bang on
I’ve always wanted one of these
I've never seens an eggplant played with such feel before. beautiful stuff that really spoke to my soul
This does actually look fire
this video has a 2017 andrew vibe and I love it for that
Happily tutorial’d!
Instant purchase but I gotta wait 8 weeks!! Can’t wait to mess n express!
Being able to use Note and Session mode at the same time - above all other features - is for me the biggest and best. It’s the reason I am upgrading to the tethered version.
Sheeesh when you demo the MPE in that intro scene 🤯
That Jam Interlude was phat!
Ohh it looks soooo sick 🔥🔥
nice overview, thanks
Appreciate the video! I’m a push rookie so this helped a lot lol 🙏🏼
Looks a great upgrade, especially the mpe. Interesting that this drops the exact same day as the Logic release for IPad.
oh shit -- did not know Logic was dropping for iPad!
...and disappointed it's a subscription model :(
Animoog vibes with the pads!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Looks awesome
I held out cause I felt the Push 3 was coming!
fantastically demoed. good shit bro
I just got an apc key 25 the other day so I'm using ableton for the first time, crazy timing to see this
Kind of video I REALLY like. I good overview without and lot of DEEP DIVES. That comes later as you get more experience with the device. This was an excellent introduction for someone brand new to the PUSH eco-system. Wish more YTers would do these, initially, instead of showing 3 different ways to do the same thing and adding midi gear etc. One step at a time! Much obliged.
Dope will definitely be investing
so sick!
What a combo the Expressive E Osmose and this would be 😍
I'm glad it kept the midi capture feature
So cool!
Wow, great video! Something about the video quality just seems different, it has a lot more detail (which I really like), did you switch to a different camera or lens?
Just logged into my youtube and i see Andrew and Rachel K collier both posting video on Ableton Push 3. You guys were like almost ready with the camera to shoot this video lol :D .. btw i loved the explanation and Ableton surely came up with the powerful machine this time.. talkin of machine , Maschine+ got some epic competition too :D
Hey Andrew. I really like your bass playing. Thanks for the informative video also = ) I wonder if Native Instruments built the controller. Seems very similar to the Maschine Jam with the colour, and the mitl-function jogwheels etc....
Nice video! I have bought Push 2 two years ago and only used it once. I am not familiar with Push but I am an ableton user. Shall I get a Push 3 instead of upgrading the Push 2 instead? I just wanna know except the standalone function is there any other major differences that worth getting a new Push 3 instead? Thanks.
cool update to push 3.
Sweet Jesus, this mk3 is a game changer! I’m still on a Push 1 because I didn’t feel the need to upgrade for my purposes but this…this Akai device is dope.
Very cool but I wonder if you could deep dive into the specs of the audio interface because for 2000 dollars I could buy an Apollo twin and a nice midi controller
same thoughts
Looks cool :)
Damnit. I need to buy this now.
Major step up for the Push 3!
Thanks so much for this! Question: Can you assign tempo per scene on the Push 3? You can't on the Akai Force which has made it difficult on live gigs. I'd dump my Force in a second if Push 3 can do this.
That bassline was super tasty.
Got push 2 january this year.. great.. for dedicated clip view I got another novation launchpad mini.. useful to me as I always can press record on it, it’s just for that.. stop record play..
I thought the screen on push 3 would be touch as well - to trigger clips?
I do like that vibrato thing I’ve been missing it ever since I got seabord, I always want to wiggle that key - transfered the style from guitar.. will wait for another purchase tho - I could use one extra push at home tho.. but been thinking to give maschine mk3 a try - what do you guys think?
I was pleasantly surprised with the price, for $2k, this already beats out a ton of standalone mpcs that are much more expensive
After all this time it’s finally something worth buying. What a time to be alive.
looks sick
I literally got ride of my Akai MPC because of the lack of arrangement view... The MPE is somewhat tempting and the UI improvements are nice. But, overall I don't think, for me, that this is really a big enough improvement to tempt me from the Push 2.
great video, one question does it have the same coating as per Push 2 ? it wasn't great quality and became sticky over time
Can we use midi controllers with the standalone version? Adding a keyboard or a launchpad pro for even more hands on control?
Also does it use the same (bad) coating of the older Push's?
It is great to see repairability and upgrability to have such a focus, it is really nice!
Omg it looks so good…. 😮
I'd love to see a more 'introductory' video on Ableton Push. I'm not really familiar with what it is and it's uses. Great video regardless. :)
Cool, but i think i will stick to my PUSH 2. It does already everything i'll ever need, and much more.
feel the same way, will keep my push 2 ; does everything i need
I hope this comment doesn’t come off topic too much, but as an FL Studio user (I have Ableton as well) at least at this stage… my question is, would we be able to export tracks/stems to FL? Again, I’m not trying to start a DAW war or throwing shade at all… the device looks amazing and I’m really new so it’s an honest question. Love the content!
can't really afford this thing, but i could see myself using it heavily, pretty dope piece of music tech
The design alone is just so pretty, regardless of all the great features
