  • Springtime fishing can be a great time to catch Mahi, Tuna, and good bottom fishing offshore of Florida. Today we made a long 60 mile run to what we call the ledge. This is where the blue water is often at offshore of Northeast Florida. Here you can find Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, and Wahoo, along with bottom fish like Vermilion Snapper and Triggerfish. The water was cold today but right when we got to the ledge we found a good rip where two different bodies of water met. One was cold and dirty and the other was warmer and clear blue. We were trolling a C&H Rattle Jet lure way back with light 50lb fluorocarbon line and this was enough to get a Blackfin tuna to bite. We did some bottom fishing for Vermilion Snapper and even caught a nice Mahi Mahi later in the trip. If you have any questions about offshore fishing comment below!

Tell JJ careful cutting that live bait, wouldn’t want him to cut off a finger!
