I have a humming and scraping noise when driving on the highway. I replaced the front wheel bearings and that didn’t fix it. The mechanic swapped out the front differential with a used one and that didn’t work either. He says it’s the transfer case. Could it be making a scraping noise though? Scraping is more pronounced when going on the highway and turning the wheel slightly around bends. Thank you
ANDREW B I work at the dealer and literally just did this job, it pays around 8 hours if you do all three seals. Also you don't have to remove the exhaust to remove the case
Ive done probably over 100 coolers. No 164 or 166 gets away with without replacing them. Keep it long enough and itll need to be a 2nd or 3rd time. Junk lol

Man... Owner of this vehicle is lucky it isn't the oil cooler gasket that goes bad in these w166.
