I refuse to see anything Taika Waititi is involved with. I refuse to see sequels/remakes/reboots/whatever. Add Taika Waititi to a remake and I wouldn't watch this for free...

Last year Terry Gilliam visited the set and hated what he saw.
Terry Gilliam is an actual witty comedian and artsy director. Taika is a lazy “comedian” and fake artsy director.
They are so woke that they remove all dwarfs from movies. How is that progress? God, I hate Waititi and his one-note idea of comedy.
It's called inclusion and diversity.

So all of the Little People in Time Bandits represent Monty Python Terry Gilliam state's this in the commentary in the Movie. I highly recommend everyone go watch the original movie.
I've seen it two or three times (many years ago). Great movie and it stars Sean Connery in a small role, which is a bonus.
I saw the trailer and thought this looked shite. Then I learned Tonka Why-titty made it and was even more certain I will never watch it.

This looks like a repeat of the Willow series.
I can't be the only one who viewed this trailer, then had to rewatch the original as a pallete cleanser. Kudrow even refers to the group as "Time Bandits".
I have the 4k HDR Bluray from Criterion of the original film.. Just get that rather than watch this.. Terry was not happy with the production of this series to say the least.. R.I.P., Shelley Duvall..

I remember Time bandits, it was great, if a little bit weird.
_Not_ Gilliam's best, but it definitely became a cult classic on it's merits.

Oh no Time Bandits is one of my favourite films and that prick is pissing all over it.
Another bastardization of a classic film. Nothing about this looks amusing or even funny. Let's change everything that made the original movie fun and engaging, especially the main cast of little actors and make them generic adults that don't even fit their roles whatsoever. Not once did this make me laugh, just cringe. Comes across like an even worse form of Amazon's destruction of the "Rings" stories. I'd like to see Terry Gilliam's reaction to this travesty. When every set looks like a CGI green screen situation, you know the budget was garbage. The total lack of creativity in Hollywood now is astounding. All they can do is remake and reboot beloved films and TV shows, only worse. Everyone needs to ratio these previews into the ground. Those saying this looks amazing and great clearly have never seen the original film, and have no desire to enjoy good entertainment since they think this is excellent. Seriously, nothing about this comes across as entertaining, unless you just want background noise while doing something else. The only good thing Apple TV has done so far is "Severance".

Time Bandits was right out of the Monty python stable of classic oddball British dark comedy. This looks as funny as the US remake of the IT crowd or the office.
@@lesigh1749 Or the US remake of "Ghosts". Not sure how that soulless and cringe show has gone for nearly three seasons. I tried to watch the first episode of each seasons and oh wait a waste of time. Could barely make it through half a show. Anyone who finds this US versions funny must find paint drying humorous as well.
@@Phaota The US remade Ghosts? Dear lord, talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel. The UK version of Ghosts is like a CBeebies show, I don't know how any adult can sit through it and not feel embarrassed.

On an unrelated topic I was going to watch Our Flag Means Death. As I thought it looked funny from the trailers. But when I heard Taika Waititi was involved I thought "Nah. I'll skip it." I never saw Time Bandits at all. But I'm sure he's gonna fuck it up. Hollywood needs to stop messing with Legacy Projects. 🤦🏻♀🙄
There is no originality in Hollywood any longer, so this is the best we will get from now on.

Taika whatatwatty is awful. I’ll give you what we do in the shadows movie and the first two series of the show are great, but he just seems to love himself now.

Hollyweird has really gone to Tāika's head. Loved Hunt and the Wilderpeople, Jojo Rabbit and Boy the Movie, but now his schtick is getting old. Somehow I'm glad he's not remaking Akira anymore and that's coming from a fellow Kiwi!
Tikka Masala has got to be the worst director working in Hollywood, as all he has is one trick, and that's characters every few minutes looking directly into the camera and going "This is silly isn't it? ... we know we're actors in a movie, oh look there's the sound guy eating a doughnut from the craft service table! ... anyway back to the movie!".
... like who actually enjoys that type of storytelling?
If I was reading a book and every few seconds the author was breaking my immersion by pointing out in the text that I was reading a book and telling me halfway through page 63 that "The reader is now reading halfway down page 63 and the end of this paragraph is coming up!" ... I would put that book down and never waste my time with it again.

were listening to a sad song and halfway through the song the singer and band stopped singing and playing their instruments to say "This is crazy how the noises that we're making can make you feel sad, isn't it? ... anyway back to the song lads a 1 ... a 2 ... a 1,2,3,4!".
It's just so embarrassing and grating at this point, that literally everything has to be ironic and patronising.

I tried to watch it years ago it was one of the movies my mom liked because she enjoyed the Monty Python cast outside of that. So I gave it a watch and couldn't finish. By the time we finished with Sean Connery's character I was just ok I haven't really been engaged and just turned it off.

Even if I had a modest interest in seeing this, I wouldn't after seeing that mess play out. I don't like manipulation of that magnitude. If you can't stand on your own, and have to manipulate figures to appear greater than you are - you're dead to me and my interest is absent.

I enjoyed Dark Matter too. The ending is the same as the book. It largely follows the book with some changes, most of the changes work. A good effort. This new Time Bandits looks terrible. Loved the original film so will avoid this
