The vibrations at ~1,500rpm actually got solved by one dose of the Wynn's injector cleaner (ua-cam.com/video/CxJJtPArD9Y/v-deo.html). The vibrations disappeared with fixing the intercooler, but eventually returned. One or probably more than one diesel injectors are slightly on the clogged/blocked side of things and resulting in the vibrations. If you have something like this, you could give an injector cleaner a go.

Nice video :) To give you and idea about next material - using a roofing tape for vibration/sound dampening material. I did that on a Pug 308SW - so far I only did the doors and the lid under the factory sound insulation. The results are not bad, and actually dampening the lid had huge impact on the sound coming from the engine - now it's mainly coming under the front wheel arches... It's a cheap sound dampening mod with quite good results :)

I will have another video that shows proper cleaning of the intercooler, but will come out later. What I do, is first rinse it with alcohol (methylated spirit is easier to get hold of), then I rinse the whole thing with warm water (~40C), fill it to the top with warm water, stay with the water for ~30min, drain the water. Then I use washing liquid inside and do several rounds of washing liquid with clean water and then dry it.
I cannot quote remove it again and measure, but the intercooler's pipe protrusions where the the pipe clamps on is at the smallest part 49mm and there is a widening at the beginning and it is 51mm. Hope that helps.
It might eventually, but it depends on how much oil gets inside. WHen the turbo start spinning with higher rpm, you get some oil pushed through the intake, so it gets cleaned a bit.
Hi David, yes, but only temporary. I had to pass annual inspection (MOT) and had to take it out. They view it as an emissions modification and would have failed the car, even though the OCC helps with the emissions.
