    Lloyd, I lucked into a little used DT 11, that will out shoot me any day. The EELL is a work of art and that is what you are paying for, side plates,hand checkering, hand engraving, premium grade wood and a very nice case. Is it worth the money, yes if you want one. If I was looking at that kind of outlay, I would seriously consider a Longthorne, two miles from my home😀

    Had the DT11L brand new. in 6 months the ejector timing went out and had the repaired, wood swelled up and couldn't open the top leaver and finally i blew the choke out resulting in a bulged barrel which was replaced by GMK without issue. But not for me anymore Beretta have serious quality issues and I for one wont buy into them again until this has been addressed, I now shoot a Blaser f3 custom Bonsi scroll and love it

      Sorry but that's incorrect. There's a surcharge for custom stock fitting. I've just checked and its 10% not 20% as I state in the video, but it is definitely not free.

      @@lloydyp maybe it's only free in Germany, as mentioned at dieflinte.de : "It must be mentioned, however, that this of course doesn't replace a measure stock that Beretta offers with the DT11 without extra charge. It's questionable whether all DT11 customers who have bought a DT11 in the past know this. If you have a gunsmith who knows his trade or who is not afraid of the short trip to Gardone, you should make use of it."

      For me? I have chosen Perazzi. I could just as easily have gone for a DT11 however as the designs are both fantastic, it's really down to aesthetic and your preference of factory experience when you are getting a bespoke gun made at this level.

      @@lloydyp sir what i mean is due to the hand carving which on extra metal part... The stock is carved into a C shape ... Does that makes it weaker and more vulnerable to cracks...? Or not 🙌🙌

  • @dale_ch

    Lloyd, sorry to play devil's advocate here - this gun is £14.500 - you recently reviewed the ATA Sporter at £600. It had a nice quality wooden stock and forend and you shot every clay from the stand that was offered to you with it - seriously, what price IS beauty in this sport?? and is there an element here of pure snobbery creeping in maybe? - Beretta and other gun makers must LOVE selling £14,500 guns as opposed to £600 guns - who wouldn't in business? - they all have to shoot cartridges efficiently and well - PS. I don't mean to offend any die hard beautiful gun lovers out there, this is truly a beautiful gun with no doubts, but the outrageous price for the difference you get?? 😎😎 x24 ATA Sporters vs x1 DT11 EELL for the same price??

    • @lloydyp
      @lloydyp  4 роки тому +3

      The relative value of consumer items is driven by the market, not the manufacturers. does a £600 ATA do roughly the same job as a EELL, yeah of course, in the same way that getting the bus to work does roughly the same job as driving there in a Porsche. I know which I would prefer. The margin on cheaper guns is wafer thin, and the race to the bottom on price at that end of the market is hard fought, with all the manufacturers mnaking the cheapest guns they can within the bounds of what they will stand with regards quality. VW make the UP!, £11.5k, Dacia make the Sandero at £6.5k, and its the same deal, you buy as much or as little car as you want to do the job you need. Some people can afford to pay 65k for a pair of SCO sideplates that they will shoot 5 times in a year, while most of us are more than happy with a used Browning 525 or a Beretta 686 for under grand that gets shot 50 times a year. Neither of these examples is wrong, and neither is the fault of the manufacturer, they are offering a product built to a standard that the market wants, that's capitalism.

      @@lloydyp Hi Lloyd, fair comments and I do understand your comparison points - I think the main point I was trying to make is there's are thousands of component parts that are much different and more expensive to make on a Porsche than a VW Up, where as with a shotgun, there if far less of a fundamental difference in their construction - ie. they both have barrels, a stock, a forend, a mechanism etc. albeit much more refined versions on the gun that costs 24 times the price - in any case, the DT11 EELL is a very nice gun - but I'd say at a price of around £7000 could be more easily justified ? 😁
      Sorry I forgot to mention, I enjoyed watching your DT11 EELL video as I always do! 😉

      The target demographic for this work of art, from what I've seen at my local clay ground, is the chap in the late afternoon of life, semi or fully retired, with time to enjoy the fruits of his years of toil via the purchase of nice toys.
      So, yes. He has probably pulled this gun out from the boot of a Porsche. It doesn't matter if half the clays are missed.
      All power to him. Or her.

    • @dale_ch
      @dale_ch 2 роки тому +1

      @@afroliciouspresents3603 Ironically I agree with your comments entirely - my gripe was the HUGE difference in price - The DT11 EELL is 27 times more expensive that an ATA Sporting - that's the part I find hard to justify. It's neither rare nor is it unique. If as Lloyd suggests the VW UP is £11.5k - A decent spec Porsche is not (x27) £310.5k, more like £120k (that's c. x10 which would make the DT11 EELL around £7k as I mentioned in an earlier post on this thread) despite its enormous difference in cost and technology of parts against the VW UP, unlike the ACTUAL differences in the two guns - just that point really, I'm sure they'll still sell them to some folk? 👍

    • @afroliciouspresents3603
      @afroliciouspresents3603 2 роки тому +1

      @Dale Ch It's a cute analogy, which begs adding to. Sure, like for like, a Porsche is a more desirable car than a VW Up.
      However! If I am an occasional driver or my driving routine is centred around visits to the local shops, the VW Up is plenty sufficient for that task.
      An ATA is sufficient for the person who goes to their local clay ground once a week, for a round, as a social thing. It's not fancy, but it will break clays.
      That said, hey, if you have the dough and want to spend it on a Porsche for a trip to the shops or a DT EELL (which is rather expensive without being particularly interesting or rare, as you said) for that once a week jaunt, fair enough.
      There's no point in being the richest man in the graveyard.

    Trop cher payé pour ce que c'est: pas d'éjecteurs débrayables, pas de mécanisme de détente mécanique, les crosses ne font pas pour tout le monde. Pour le prix, on fait mieux disons.

    • @lloydyp
      @lloydyp  7 місяців тому

      Qui a besoin d’éjecteurs commutables ? Et même si une gâchette mécanique est idéale dans certains cas, certaines personnes préfèrent la gâchette nette d'une masselotte à inertie traditionnelle avec ressorts à lames. Différent n’est pas toujours mieux.

    • @marcgooglegauthier
      @marcgooglegauthier 7 місяців тому

      Pour récupérer les douilles c'est mieux. Ici je ne parle pas de la gâchette qui est une pièce interne du mécanisme. Je parle du bloc de détente. Le coup est aussi net, c'est le temps imposé entre les deux coups pour empêcher deux coup en même temps. C'est juste que Beretta n'est probablement pas capable de le produire. Apres tout, c'est le client qui achète selon ses préférences mon ami.
