Our second date lasted 27 hours. He made dinner at his sisters dorm apartment for me and his sister. There was an ice storm happening while we were hanging out, so to be safe we both stayed at his sisters dorm apartment that night. It was two rooms. I stayed with his sister and her roommate in the bedroom and he stayed on the couch. Then we hung out together all the next day into the late afternoon until I had to go home to get ready for a bridal shower. It was a fun way to get to know each other. Neither of us being able to clean up, but enjoying each other’s company and unbrushed teeth anyway. We’ve been married for 25 years. And we waited until our wedding night. BTW.

A few tips-
1) don’t prolong things. Keep everything short and sweet. A lot of her behavior isn’t just from autism- it’s also her being 3yo. That age can be frustrating. Like at the park when it’s time to go- keep it simple- Mikko, soon time to go. Mikko, time to go. Mikko, bye bye now.
Then when time to transition to the car- if she’s refusing to get in the car, “Mikko, mama help you now” then just place her in the car. It’s OK to put her in the car. She might be upset. But repetition helps and when she hears Mikko, mama help you, eventually she might decide to do it on her own. Doesn’t have to be car seat but just have the entering the car as a habit. While you put stroller in the trunk. Keep it short. Then just sit with her or sit in the front if you want. I find just getting buckled and driving and discussing helps.
Keep it short and sweet for everything.
2) for her hair, don’t need to blow dry, wash it and condition it and detangling then styling. I would suggest detangling before it becomes harder on her and you. And the more you do it, the more she gets used to it. Or even box braids every other week- it can be put up and you get less time and stress with her. And it’s in a protective style.
I get it- at the same time- focus on yourself too. If you feel that something needs to change at that moment- do it.

I guess a lot of homework kind of self-deprecating towards Andrew but I couldn't help but think of Andrew throwing shot over his shoulder to take GED especially when y'all had not been going out for that long (like you weren't married for a few years yet LOL)
