Every time a story about Andrew's football career gets brought up and all of the obstacles that you faced to make it to them (camps, practice, etc) it seems so clear to me that God had other plans for you and kept saying "nope!" 😂

Andrew and Shawn, you are both AMAZING people. So humble, grateful for where and how you got started on your life paths. Shawn, I loved watching you do gymnastics (I’m older than you by a bit, but as a former gymnast I knew what you had to go through). I now get to enjoy you as an adult loving God, her family. Your joy of being a daughter, friend, wife and mom spills out of you. Andrew, your passion for life, your family and friends spills out of you with your goofiness and energy. DO NOT sell yourself short of ALL your amazing things you’ve gotten to be a part of. ALL your loved ones are so proud of you and your accomplishments. Success is not measured by how far you got in the NFL. It is how you handle each challenge thrown at you. Those experiences are given to you by God (I know you know all this but have to share it with you) and you took on each challenge head on as God knew/knows you would. Be as proud of yourself as you are about Shawn, your wife. And I LOVE your energy for life. Love you both. Such amazing selfless human beings.

ANDREW!!! You have BIZARRE endurance! You won that weird challenge where you all weren't told the time or distance, and you just had to run. You outlasted EVERYONE!! And besides running an official marathon, you randomly woke up and decided to run a marathon in your NEIGHBORHOOD! Dude! You are insane at distance! It's one of the things that BLATANTLY stands out to me!!!

Shawn, You telling about that storm and all the flooding, Chow's place that cry that went out to anyone who was able was one of the hardest, saddest, but at the same time heartwarming things that ever happened here at that time.
My house was under water from that storm as well. I vowed after that to never live in another low lying area or risk of flooding ever again. I moved to the Eastside and then the derecho hit and I was without power for 3 weeks and basement had water in it. I had 4 trees down one on the edge of the house. So much for never dealing with flooding or storms. LOL Blessings and Love!

My favorite is probably biased but it’s the 2008 flood, I live in Cedar Rapids and lived in Coralville at the time going to Iowa, I was there day and hours bagging sand, and to tell you Iowans come together is the ultimate truth! There was so much loss and devastation, also being a Shawn Johnson fan (prior to now a massive fan of your family! ❤️) I knew the story and touches my heart significantly, also Shawn you are so humble and always have been! 💕During the 2020 Derecho in CR that hit within minutes neighbors were out with saws, chain saws, rakes…anything to help get us home and keep us safe! It’s the Iowa (and so many other places!) way! I’ve loved watching over the years and keep the awesome stories coming!! ❤😊

I love listening where I'm like doing 10 things that I might be bored doing, or don't want to but need to and I just have you guys on and feel like I'm with you in the room. All these stories are crazy, funny, sometimes sad or just wild, but everyone is so great. Just hearing about the things you two have gone through together and apart. To see where you are now because of a lot of right time right place and God in everything makes me happy. I can't wait to have my own story and amazing relationship even half as amazing as yours some day, if God has that in the cards for me. Thanks again guys 😊

Congratulations on baby boy! So the broken toe story, I have one similar. Was trying to be a good mom and play with our then 7 year old daughter and chasing after her in the house. A reason your mom always told you not to run in the house or someone will get hurt. We were running around the living room where we had a mini tramp. My pinky toe on my right foot caught on one of the legs and bent completely sideways. She was so sweet and brought me an ice pack and hand towel to put on it. I could only tape it and wait for it to stop hurting and being crooked. Never went to the doctor.

Crazy that we can laugh about these things later on. My foot was ran over by a neighbor kid playing on a riding lawn mower when I was 10. The first cut chopped my left big toe off just below the nail. Second cut my foot in half and it was hanging by sliver of bone. Just as he killed the lawn mower it crushed my ankle. I still have my foot, just missing half my big toe. They were going to send me into emergency surgery to amputate just above the knee due to infection. My pastor, his wife and my mom joined hands with me making a circle and prayed. My pastor said she won't need this surgery. My mom made the Dr's check me insisting I wouldn't need the surgery. GOD healed me. That acxident was the biggest gift in my life. It cemented my faith. As a kid, there was no doubt that GOD couldn't do anything and that has carried with me for the last 44 years. My dad ended up accepting Christ and becoming a born again Christian during this time. The Dr's told me then and all my life, that I'd experience really bad arthritis and balance issues with that foot. Not a thing. Of course not, GOD used that situation and he was in control.
With that history... I purchased this beautiful antique round table and we were in the kitchen. He picked the table up and turned it upside down to see the markings on the bottom of the table. The top fell of landing right on my "No Toe". I can handle stubbing or things falling on my other foot, but ask anyone who has lost a limb, the pain is a hundred times worse and last an extra long time.
Oh my, I was hoping around crying in agony the whole time thinking that it crushed the remaining bone in my no toe. I thought for sure that I had a flapper with tiny bone fragments loose in there. Of course after the pain subsided, I looked and the toe was fine. We laugh at that to this day. 😅 love your crazy stories.
Another cool thing is, when you ever have those bible studies or something where you get to know each other and they ask. Tell us something surprising that you're sure no one else here has been through. I tell the lawn mower story and that I was in an airplane crash and survived. GOD is good, all the time!
