im currently reading negative space and im loving it! it is definitely very bleak and depressing but honestly im very emotionally invested. the characters are just so interesting and everything gets very messed up and intense! i hope you end up enjoying it too!

I just stumbled over your videos for this and I am so excited. I'm fairly new to reading horror, but I'm really enjoying the genre so far! The Newsflesh series by Mira Grant was one of the first forays into it and I absolutely loved it.

The Wicked Unseen is a satanic panic, use of ouija boards, and mentions trick or treating during week of Halloween. Rot and Ruin by Jonathan Mayberry is a zombie series! This is so creative thanks for creating this, this looks so fun. I am such a horror reader and try the r/fantasy one and nearly plug in all horror reads. I will definitely be doing hard mode.

Well, I have a non-grief fantasy version of death. It’s mort from the disc world books. There are several books in this series that featured death as a character and it’s very funny if you like the dry British humor

I'm going to try my hardest to do this bingo. I'm working on the Phantom Readathon for this month and it has me going away from books I normally read to try to get points. I haven't read The Watchers but I did watch the movie on Max. I truthfully was very disappointed by it, but I thought it was going to be more horror vs. suspense? It just wasn't what I expected🥲

Omg girllll please please read This Thing Between Us for cosmic horror. It won't fit for the hard mode prompt, but I loveddddd that one, it's so good. It's also grief horror and I think you'll really like the writing style!

Moon of the Crusted Snow is very good. I think some readers have a hard time getting into it because it moves very slow. The Good House by Tananarive Due is so good!!!!

Dark harvest does not have trick-or-treating, but it does take place on Halloween and Halloween fiend is on KU last time I checked anyway

I don't know if you've read All Hallows by Christopher Golden, but it takes place on Haloween and it does have trick-or-treating. It's a fun Halloween read.

I am doing Brainwyrms as out of my comfort zone since it sounds like it leans much more extreme horror than I’m usually comfortable with 😅 I am doing “hard mode” in terms of filling all the board, but I don’t think I’ll get each individual prompt’s hard mode. I am also focusing on books I own and KU books!
That is a good reason for being out of your comfort zone lol. And based on her other book, yes it will lean extreme 😅

I just finished Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier and I loved it! Five stars! Now one of my top five favorite books of all time!

Dark Harvest is sooooo good in my opinion. Very atmospheric. I also love Nos4a2 but recommend it at Christmas instead.
I'm a super seasonal reader so I will definitely wait to read nos4a2 at Christmas time.
@@WickedScorpio I wish I’d waited to read it at Christmas but during my reading one day there was a storm and the sunset was BLOOD RED so that was kind of cool. If I could redo it I would bake some gingerbread men and read it under the light of the Christmas tree. Even make a creepy snowman in the snow lol
So many awesome books on here. I will share one that I love on this list - Monstrilio. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. It’s a very textured interpretation of grief with wierd fiction elements.
And I will share one that I disliked-N0S4A2. Sooo bored. I listened to it all (its sooooo long) before I learned how to DNF. I don’t get the hype but I hope it’s a winner for you!! Great winter vibes. The audiobook narrator was 10/10.
I didn't realize monstrilio had some weird fiction elements too 👀 now I'm even more excited.

Due will likely help fulfill your 5 star, but for some reason it shouldn't, I highly recommend Eynhallow by Tim McGregor

I haven't read it, but from what I know, I personally wouldn't use it, but you can do what you want! Unless you meant the dead man walking prompt, in which case, I could definitely see that!
I enjoyed Nos4a2, but I'm kind of a weirdo. It's fairly trippy, but I trust Joe Hill's writing after Heart-Shaped Box.

Adam Neville has a book called all the fiends of hell that’s cosmic horror but I’m not gonna tell you much more about it

I'm not familiar how to use these. Is there a tutorial on yt. I tried looked but only NOTION came up. I love challenges . For now I'm printing it out 😂
as far as actually filling it out. Some people print and fill it out physically. A lot of people will do it digitally and edit the picture as they go as well. Totally up to you! I have links in the description to get it a couple different ways. The canva version is the best one to save for a digital format
Hmmm maybe I can do this challenge with ONLY my Kindle and NetGalley ARCs to clean up those shelves. I don't own too many physical horror books (yet).

If you want cosy horror, I highly recommend Dead of Winter by Darcy Coates. If you want something more tense and actually scary, The Ritual by Adam LG. Nevill is great 😊

Boy in the Valley is religious horror and possession. There's no physical item, but an amazing story absolutely.

Sugarcane is not romance lol. The main characters are married, but there's no loved involved and no HEA xD I think it's straight up horror.

Same here girl! I’m trying to shrink my physical TBR and not buy more books 🙈🙈🙈 The Ruins is so fun! I have a fear of tropical plants after reading this…..I live in FL 😂😂 And I saw a the Watchers recently and I really enjoyed the film. I have now realized I reallllllly love Folk Thrillers! And M Night Shamylan’s daughter directed it and I thought it was great!
The rest of 2024 and 2025 will be the year of minimizing my physical tbr 🙌🏻
