- Helen and I decided to share this very personal moment because we're so grateful for the incredible response, warm wishes, and sincere messages of joy for us. It took a lot of work, heartache, and love to get to this point which went unseen for years, but perhaps by sharing this video, we can show some people out there that happy endings (and beginnings) are possible. Personally, Wong Fu kept me going through some very difficult years, and you helped in that, whether you knew it or not. I've grown a lot, and I'm grateful I can show you what that growth looks like. Thank you for all the love and support. Helen and I are deeply moved.

Indeed. Grew up watching wong fu all throughout high school and watching phil's visions and interpretations of various sorts of relationships. Now it's all coming together into being a reality. I couldn't be more proud of him.

What's so great about this proposal is that the location has so much meaning behind it. The location isn't at some fancy location or anything but there is so much meaning behind it. His last sentence before the proposal is so good "I want to start that next journey, in the same place that little girl first dreamed".

I'm a 23 year old heterosexual dude literally crying my eyes out watching this 3 minutes in with Phil unable to even hold in his emotions upon seeing her. The guy (with his teams) that was guide my emotional growth and independence found his one true love, and it felt like I grew up with him. He shows us here that true love exists, and through the many, many love and relationship-filled videos representing Asian-Americans, it gives me hope that I, too, will one day reach this level of love and happiness.
and for someone who's heard his friend practice his proposal speech for 3 months, I'll tell you the way to do it is record and edit a video with the highlight reel. one you won't get choked up and flub the lines and two there's time to run away when you see it going bad.

When Phil says “I wanna marry you” he’s giving off some Forrest Gump vibes. A moment where only his most genuine emotions can’t find any other sugar coated way to be expressed.
I love the fact that Phil didn't tell her that the important people are there until after she already gave her answer. It didn't put her in any pressure to say yes and it just shows how much thought has been put into this.
The analogy of the mountain range perfectly captures the beauty of relationships, and it was expressed so eloquently yet evidently coming from the heart. So much heart. I'm crying watching this and I would watch this again and again.

For real, that was the first skit that got me into Wong Fu. And seeing the progression of his viewpoints on relationships over the years, accumulating to this moment has made me so proud of how far he's come.
