- I care so little, I almost passed out.
Welcome to Next of Ken and in this episode, we're counting down 18 Times Dr. Cox From "Scrubs" Was The Only Mentor We Ever Needed. Despite being sarcastic, impatient, and downright savage, Dr. Cox is actually... sarcastic, impatient, and downright savage, but also a secretly caring, passionate, and loving man. Here's our tribute to Dr. Cox.

#1 is probably the most honest statement concerning medical professionals that you will ever hear.
I'm a cop in big city and it hits for me too. It's true that eventually you develop the ability to make a joke while standing over a dead body. It's a fucked up coping mechanism that you can't really understand until you have lived it.
It is true for a number of professions; Medical, Police, Prison Service (myself), Military.
My dad was sick a long time and after all the scares and rushing to the ER my family would make jokes "if dad kicks it when I have plans I'm gonna be pissed. He could atleast have the courtesy to die on a work day" seriously the human mind is crazy with what it comes up with to cope with painful scenarios
As a combat vet I can say it’s true in the military as well
True story.
Went with his deeper quotes at the end but missed his best one:
"Once you start blaming yourself for deaths that aren't your fault, my friend... that's a slippy slope that you can't come back from it. Trust me, I've seen it ruin a hell a lot of good doctors, and I will not let it happen to you."
That was one of the best, heart breaking episodes of television, watching his character go over the emotional edge was jarring.
I'm kind of glad he didn't put it in there. The music that he had playing over a lot of the scenes really ruin the context
@@gilliganallmighty3 I know right? I fucking tear up every time watching that scene with that song.
That's his best one!
I loved that. He really went out of his way to help JD because he knew JD was in serious trouble. One of the few times he showed he actually cared.
There is one glaring omission from this list... "I'm pretty sure if they took all of the porn off the internet there would only be one website left and that would be called "Bring Back the Porn"
Yh I rec this
So true!
Don't forget the cats. So at least there would still be some pussy left. Just not the kind you want to fap to. Or at least I hope not.
Or as they call it nowadays, "Tumblr 2019"
"You can't turn up to work drunk, you're not airline pilots"
He's not the mentor we need, he's the mentor we deserve.
Spiff The Magnificent speaking truth
Bonus points for the Batman reference.
Brill!
You got that right.
You could make a 3 hour long video of Dr. Cox moments and still have plenty left over.
or he'd just cheat on them and create a whole family of tiny little moments
LOL
Just wanted to write that it could easily be 118 times )
i would so watch that
Just any time the cameras nearby
"You are what you eat, and you clearly went out and devoured a big fat guy didn't ya" probably my favorite line.
He deserved an Emmy for this show. What a great character.
He deserved an Emmy every season, as well as the other lead cast members. Genius show
"...and sometimes because it's fun." God I loved him in that role.
"I mega-loathe you all."
Magic Legend definitely using this
"I'm going to go ahead and write you a prescription for two testicles." I was crying lmao
Dr. Cox is the mentor kids today need, but don’t deserve
Outside of MASH, Scrubs was one of the more medically accurate shows on TV, and it wasn't even trying to take itself seriously most of the time. As a surgeon, those two were the only medically-centered shows I could tolerate.
Kevin Davis I never saw or cared about Mash but I watched Scrubs and House
Kevin Davis--here's one medic that agrees 😊 MASH and Scrubs
👍👍👍
Not House?
I absolutely agree with you!
Andrei Sorea
Some are really easy mysteries, but yes.
He was probably the most real character on "Scrubs". He made you laugh and he could be so politically incorrect honest quips. He was a real cornerstone on that show.
He and his dynamic with Bob Kelso is what made this show so good. Characters like J. D. or the others where pretty good but Cox and Kelso simply where fantastic.
There is no way Dr. Cox could function in today’s “Cancel Culture.”
Honestly for the most part Dr Cox was pretty politically correct. He was mean, sure, but none of his rants were bigoted or "edgy". Just true.
@@theguru210 sad thing is people can't handle the truth
"Wrong wrong wrong wrong...wrong wrong wrong wrong...you're wrong! You're wrong!" lol
odinson99m Your wroooooonnnnng.
Can't.
Not.
Sing.
This.
Song.
A minor league hockey team here in Denver would play that when the officials called a penalty on the home team.
one of the best characters from scrubs
one of the best characters period
TheLandOfTea *ever
One of the best characters, period.
THE best scrubs character; one of the best characters EVER! ♥
"Go to hell Bob." LMFAOOO
chef12005 I didn't even say anything
You think my name is "Turk Turkleton?"
major case of deadness 😂😂😂
:3
That was SO much like House :-)
I'm really glad I could see them on TV at roughly the same time.
@@danijel-ch2gk the cox house impersonation was something i wasn't ready for...
I had the same problem with my Jehovah's patient. Major case of Deadness was real... He was 15.
Every time I hear 'What has 2 thumbs and hold the sky' in moana's 'You're Welcome song, in my head it's 'what has 2 thumbs and doesn't give a crap? Bob Kelso'
saw the thumbnail. immediately thought, "just 18 times?"
I.........am lying😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Dr.Cox is the absolute best.
"I just came in through the couch door"
Gets me every time lol
Love coxy.
170 people megaloath this video so much they're gavomiting.
Gavomiting. REAL TEARS!! Dr. Cox was everything!
THE Greatest Show EVERRRRRRR... Not only did i watch every episode when it aired, i have also binge watched the entire series 5 times on netflix and when there is nothing to do and i'm bored i go back and watch a few more episodes!
I absolutely love this guy! We have a few consultants like him in my A&E......Doctors like this are always the most awe inspiring because they just cut through all of the bullshit whilst toughening you up but not so much that you stop giving an actual shit about your patients. Dr Cox is real unadulterated passion!!!
"You are what you eat, and you clearly went out and devoured a big fat guy didn't ya?"
This right here remains one of my favourite lines in TV history.
And here I thought this was going to be like, heartfelt.
Well the last 2 were
Yeah, they should have cut out the dinky music for the last two, and played it straight. It would have improved the whole video.
Brandon Cox did you ever watch the show......
I can count on one hand the amount of time this guy was not sarcastic with anything he ever said
@@mandzrobertson - He's talking about the video, not the show... The last 2 clips of the VIDEO were heartfelt...
I watch this channel to get by.....and because sometimes its funny.
Scrubs... greatest tv show of all time... period.
no show ever have you laughing so hard and hit you with something that could make you tear up
The scene with him saying he wanted JD to be the godfather of his son, then making fun of him saying he was lying, was probably the COLDEST, & funniest, insult he ever laid on JD! That kind of sarcasm is BRUTAL! Hahaha!
Scrubs was so full of life lessons.
Man, Brendan Frasier was great as Ben! "Touch the nail, you wanna touch it? Touch the nail, TOUCH MY NAIL! TOUCH IT!! LICK THE TIP OF MY-" **clip ends**
Hahahaha
best character in the show (kelso is a close second)
Almost all characters that appeared regulary were great.
except Hooch.... Hooch was crazy...
lol
Funny. I just finished the scrubs marathon yesterday and this pops up
I love how Kelso is unphased by it and calmly says “I haven’t said anything yet”
#1 is 100% correct. I wouldn’t have made it as far as I have without humor.
Love Scrubs so much.
As much as I love this character and this show and was laughing all the way through this clip, #1 really hit home. as a Firefighter/EMT I can relate to that so much, because of how true that scene was. what he said
man those last two really hit me, i not crying your crying
Perry cox.... hardass with a heart of gold
Major case of deadness gets me every time lol.
Now that you make me think of it, my life started to go downhill exactly when Scrubs finished and Cox' mentorship with it.
TOUCH MY NAIL! my favorite actor in my favorite show,
I had a mentor like this in law. He taught me well.
I just love that says just about everything in great detail.
Scrubs reruns are the only thing that gets me up in the morning. That, and my job, which I need for money.
i like the videos that have short intros so THANK YOU for yours.
the prescription of 2 testies was the best on here imo
Forgot the "help me help you" rant 🙂
Awesome video, great job!
He was cruel but so hilarious 😂😂😂
The big C is the most amazing mentor character in any sitcom ever.
Watching these and other clips reminds of how good Scrubs really was. I watched almost all seasons about 6 times or so, but it's been some years since it last aired here, so that I kind of forgot about it (not really). I guess I'll have to buy it someday.
2:38 😂🤣 a *smooth* Harley Quinn dig right there by The Doc
Much as I enjoyed this, I feel like the whole list could have been that speech from Bed Banter and Beyond.
'You can call me a sucker, but I do believe in it.'
"...the couch door" *lol*
The pilot reveal that not only is he not the bad guy but that he was going to be the mentor JD needed was one of the most satisfying moments in television history for me
2:40 elliot looks like Courtney Love.
Alex Aguiluz yes!
courtney always looked like a walking corpse elliot looks great though
Alex Aguiluz - Except, you know, attractive.
53rdAndThird ahahahahaahahah lmaooooo
Mean, so mean
Gavomiting is the one of the best portmanteau words ever.
I love this man!
Dr. Cox isn't the mentor anyone asked for, or even wanted. But he was the one the that we all need.
🎶Pay Back is a bitch" 🎶haha love that scene
Not only was scrubs a funny show it had many deep moments which made this show even better
One of my favorite shows!!
Come on! I just got out of Scrubs! Now you drag me back!
He's always been my spirit animal and patronus
Next of Ken, here's my subscription. Please, keep being awesome!
Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️
I live that man... Dr. Cox.
Dr. Cox is one of my heroes.
Best character out of the series without dr cox it wouldn't be a comedy
TOUCH MY NAIL!!!! TOUCH IT!!!
I just got into this show - LOVE ITR
Good video but didn't really need the music. Kind of killed it a little.
Mr Feeny: "Am I a joke to you?"
I want to become a clown and hire Elliot.
"Payback is a bitch"
- Laverne Tabernacle Choir
Legend
cox, kelso and the janitor made this show great
Perry Cox and Greg House are the best doctors ever!
scrubs & 30 rock are my most favorite live action comedies
SmashLiXs You should really check out Cheers, it's a classic.
nah. have you seen my name is earl or community?
#4 is my favourite scrubs moment
God damn it the last one really brought a tear to my eye
*writes note to self about using "mega-loath" in conversation more often*
Lol..my favorite character on Scrubs! 👍💞
...and sometimes because it's fun.
You really screwed the pooch on the #1 clip with that dumb music playing ridiculously louder than Cox. Maybe do away with it all together? Its Annoying.
i miss it
#4 is so savage
favorite scrubs character hands down
No... I just came in through the couch door.
Number 1 is my favorite scene in the whole shower
#9 and #8. Perfect.
I’ve never seen a doctor be that direct but maybe more of them should be. I’m a give it to me straight kind of guy.
No one:
Cox: "Go to hell, Bob".
LMAO
"I didn't even say anything."🤣
I'm constantly feeling number 10
Ah, that Dr. Cox. He's so edgy and cantankerous. He's like me, without the limp.
House 😂😂
Now The Fray is stuck in my head. Hmmm...I wonder what video I'll look up next.
I have spent more time than is probably sane trying to teach myself to whistle like Dr Cox..... I have as yet failed.
Why is this guy not playing Cable?
Because Cable isn't funny. He was the setup/straightman for Deadpool
Digitalstrange2 I've seen this actor do serious.
@@USSMariner got to go see the two Bobs.
I love Dr. Cox, he was the best character on the show. You need to do another of these for his rants, most of which are comedy gold. But when you do, please kill the background music as it's distracting.
I have to say, though, I do enjoy your videos on the whole. What I like best is that, unlike the likes of Watch Mojo or Looper, you don't feel the need to talk over every single clip, leaving us to enjoy what we came to see. It's not often I see a channel that I feel compelled to subscribe to, but I think you've earned it.
How the hell has John C Mcginley not starred in his own movies yet? Amazing actor :)
the fable music thru me off at the end with the sad stuff
