Bob Kelso is honestly one of the few characters that you initally don't like but the more seasons you watch the more you start to like him and by the end he became one of my favorite characters. He had really amazing character progression.

I think Cox summed it up in S8, when he said “I always sensed you were burdened by the job and that wasn’t necessarily who you were as a person.” He was the C.O.M, he had to be the bad guy, but he always had a heart. After he retired, he took on more of a mentor role. Cox was right about him.
Props to the show runners for not making Kelso a standard issue one note sitcom heel. Also I was always happy for Ken Jenkins who after a career of getting typecast as mean authority types finally got a role that he could develop into a character with some depth over the seasons.

In the later seasons they run around the country in a RV together.
He did love her...in later episodes (in a season that we pretend doesnt exist with reason) he reveals hes unable to be alone in his house, and when he is he doesnt bring his whores there because he doesnt want to have affairs with women in the same bed he and Enid shared. Bob is a cruel bastard, but there is a reason to it all and he did love his wife.

No eye contact, cold as ice.

I, as a Marine Officer, Combat Veteran, teared up when this show ended. It had everything. Humor, Intense Friendship Loyalty, Devout Love and Respect. Sacrifice, Jealousy, Anger, Hatred, and just plain messing with the others for the hell of it. And some damn fine Music to wrap it up. Watched during some of the best and worst years of my life.
