I've been on this earth long enough to know a few things and one thing I KNOW is that when a human really wants to change, they'll just change. They will move heaven and earth to change what they want to change and everything else will be adjusted to make that change happen.
No words needed, just actionable change.

Yep. The analogy I use is that the same person who isnt changing, reaching out or making progress, is the same person who magically makes sure they eat something 3 times a day. Need for change has to be seen on the level of sustenance or it won't happen.

But dont! You're here in class. Be present. Maximize your time here. Don’t think about the fun you're missing. You're here investing in yourself. Put everything into it and reap the benefits later".

Part of it is in the mind. Back in 2017 I weighed 180lbs. Went to the gym in my job. Did treadmill and cardio. Did not eat before 12 noon or after 8pm. My goal was 160. I put it in my head that I weighed 160. Reached the goal after I left job didn’t go to gym much. But I still weigh 160(vacillates bet 160 to 164) it’s mostly in the mind. Great video John!

    • @wanderingwarrior5626

@@socialeconomicpoliticalana1128 I had a tough life, when I was a child, father beat me when he was angry, from miserable working class factory life, wife that rarely paid attention to him. He never touched my other two younger brothers, whose life's were far from perfect as adults, money obsessed, etc. I took my own path, learning about other countries, real history, exposing faults of our political system/so-called freedoms, that really iratated my father, because, he knew what I was saying was true, so I received mockings, put downs as a adult too.
I could have let that affect my whole life, but, I didn't. I moved past it. Travelled the world, did things most people dare not. Now live abroad permanently, in paradise, with my foreign wife of 20yrs. Couldn't be happier!
So, when adults tell me they had a hard life, why they never accomplished anything unique, like I did, one thing I notice in them, they lack courage. So yes, blaming their failures on others, the government, is a easy, but lame out for them.

This frank discussion is what the whole world needs in this point in time, if our global civilisation is to survive. Each one accepting a degree of responsibility for the world we find ourselves in, and each one striving to be the best Self that we are able to muster. "There is no path to peace; Peace is the path" said Mahatma Ghandhi. This video says many things common to many teachings; it resonates with the words of Jesus of Nazareth, Gautema the Buddha, Lao Tzu, Confucius, Plato, Socrates, Martin Luther King, ... so many people. And its not just men either ... It's the striving to master what we know we lack, and accepting when we fail , and getting up to strive to do better yet again after that. It's a lifelong struggle; as John says.

I agree with your “in spite of your surroundings, in spite of your own weaknesses” attitude.
I’d also still push to acknowledge that if your environment is corrosive, if you are living in a place where garages are broken in twice a week, or twice a month, or you have family with drug problems or people who are monetary or psychological leeches, or that the entire neighborhood or place you find yourself in smells of psychological death, inevitably you will grow stronger by separating yourself from a draining/depressing meta in the space of people who will never fight their demons and will test you negatively to be consumed by your own. For instance-You wouldn’t be doing your video with your dogs after 8PM at night in downtown Baltimore. The kid pissing in holes in Mumbai will not stay in the slums of Mumbai, place matters as much as perseverance.

This is a great video John. I couldn't have agreed with you more. It would seem alot of people now are looking at expecting the world to change for them rather than take personal responsibility for themselves wholeheartedly. I was once one of these people and since changing my mindset to completely look internally and not blaming anymore my life changed!! I work much harder, yet I'm happier, more resilient, positive and for the first time...content. keep the videos coming mate. Good stuff.

the unfortunate fact is that for most people it will be always easier to just take whatever easy option someone else is selling them or just blame whomever else. Self-introspection is really difficult and imho i think people are into it less and less. My be atleast in some part because of thet 24/7 presence of internet/entertainment/social media etc. We really arent just "stuck" with only ourselves like in the past - really ever at all.
There is always the distraction ...and thus someone offering the ever easier option the ever more enticing excuse.

At 50 ive never been particularly religious. However, I am fairly spiritual. In my basic observation of humans across the globe due to a lot of traveling, as well as being a watcher of human behavior since a very young age. It seems to me that there is ABSOLUTELY a form of evil or possession that occurs to people, and the more they can be separated from belief in God or spirituality. The easier it is for SOMETHING to grab hold of them and gently nudge towards more and more demonic or evil behavior, thoughts or personality traits. Just my basic observation

I don’t know how you do it. Former sponsored bodybuilder and fitness model. I figured I would capitalize on my good genetics, nutrition and workout experience. Almost 90% of my clients made excuses. They would lie about their food intake and their workout put. For some reason, they’re unable to lose a pound after being in a caloric deficit for 2 weeks. Liars and excuses. I’d rather not get paid than having to deal with these people.

I worked at good life for a few years in my 20s and then decided to train privately. What I’ve learned is most people are liars and can’t put in the work necessary. They think because they are paying for it, it should just happen. Most people don’t have it in them. I’ll only train athletes or close to. These people understand what it takes.

I am always very impressed by the muscular people at my gym. I know how long it takes and how hard it is to build muscle! Such dedication! I have half-heartedly tried many times in the past to put on muscle, but I’m primarily a cardio guy. Maybe it’s an excuse, but I don’t think my body wants to build large muscles. Now, at 55, it might be even harder.
