      Can't great around on light frames. So many add arm braces to help a lil.
      Without arm braces over 80% throttle my lightweight 5" wobbles and pulls up and left.
      I'm trying to tune it out. And think I'm going to add the arm braces. But mine meant for cruising long range. Though I want it to be able to have fun on a Lipo

    @11:20, the two props that came off have screws which thread opposite to the rotation of the motors, hence why they back themselves out over time. It seems this affects the screw attached props more versus the nut attached props. But, if anybody here is an older geezer, like myself lol, you may remember having CW and CCW motors which had reverse threaded bolts on the two motors to counteract the loosening of the prop nut.

    adding throttle expo helps an overpowered quad feel more manageable while not taking away from the top end/ top speed. if you do it in betaflight, make sure to change the throttle expo centered at 0 throttle, not the default centered at 50%.

    I built a few of these style quads (dry weight is 140g), and the trick is 86-91% throttle clip, throttle mid 0, and a throttle expo of 0.1. Also make sure to use longer M2 screws on the motors than stock to keep the props on! That is a pretty awesome frame!

    Hey Ledrib. Instead of a throttle cap just build one with lower KV motors. It’s like flying with a light cap and can get longer flight times. 5“ toothpicks are not only for legal requirements I personally find a lot more pros than full size 5 ” once you get used to them. A little less inertia, that’s about it.

I did build a 4in 6s quad and it was 182gm with a 6s 450ma lipo. But yours is a 5in. It does look like fun to fly.but I have never had one that a T-mount comes loose, my 2004 3000kv motors don't come loose on 6s Interesting ? I'm curious if it would happen again. On remote ID ? I don't know if it would work, I just don't know if anyone has the form factor to make it work. When the FAA Finally starts making good progress then I will register but not until then. I am still hoping for remote ID to fail. Thanks again for the video and your first time with a running boat ! Sorry Sean.

    Although this is an amazing video think this is the wrong approach to sub 250g drones. A sub 250 4 inch for example flies way more like a 5 inch freestyle kwad, then a sub 250 5 inch. You just have incomprehensible hang times and way to little control with those. Love your content though, always waiting for the Monday’s so a new vid will be there😅.

    • @xymaryai8283
      @xymaryai8283 3 роки тому +1

      yes! 4inch is the new 5inch imo, even ignoring the regulations. smaller, lighter and easier to fit in a bag, the Catalyst Machineworks Shocker and the upcoming Dave C Rekon 4 FR are great examples of this.

  • @CarbonGlassMan
    @CarbonGlassMan 3 роки тому

    We are just going to have to be happy with 3 and 4 inch quads. 5 inch is great because of the weight and because of the momentum that it has. 5 inch props just happen to be the size prop that can throw that weight just right. If we can't have the weight then I don't see a reason to stick with 5 inch props. But what do I know?

    Shark Byte looks a lot better with a proper glass lens. Better color, sharpness, and contrast. Can't wait for new cams to come out

    I dont really understand the remote ID thing, does the quad have to transmit the users ID and is that done with the flight controller or like another component to stick on the drone. If you need to find a way to get the drone to transmit this signal then for people like me who have built their drone from scratch then how does that work, would we also need to add an extra transmitter and program it to output our ID or would you be able to buy an ID transmitter that you just give power to and then it just works.
    Basically what im asking is do we need to program the flight controller to output this remote ID or can you buy a remote ID box and just plug it in.

    I wish sharkbyte had an option where i could have old pixels (with timeout) from older frame instead of white noise, it freaks me out like crazy. Even black pixels would look better.
    I know I should not drive on the edge, but that fallback screen looks like driving a car at 150mph and then going straight into concrete wall. I don't like it.
