    This is the Japanese style Midlength wallet that I made almost exclusively for the first 6-7 years of my career. I thought it was finally time to give it to the universe, so in this video we have a full tutorial and pattern available - now anyone can make it :)
    This is a big, biker style wallet. Our version as a couple unique features - a couple hidden card slots, made only by the way you sew in the top card banks so that there's no extra leather to add bulk. We'd suggest making this pattern out of 3oz leather to keep it slim, though the exterior can be about 5-6oz if you want to line the outer shell. Just make sure to skive the edges :)

    Cool wallet! I've been watching you for about 2 years. I don't remember a video you did on finishing the outside of the leather. Oiling and such. Maybe you could do a video on different ways. Thanks again I've learned so much from you and it has made me better.

    Great design and doesn't appear to be too difficult to construct. I picked up the sun tanning trick from you from a previous video and it works fabulously well. I tend to tan the leather before I build. Color tends to be more even that way.

    • @Corter
      @Corter  2 роки тому +3

      That's usually how I do it too! but sometimes a design goes a bit awry like this and a "natural" piece turns into a "house tanned" piece and I gotta do it on the fly 😂

    Got an idea for a new video. In one of your videos you indicated you started to use trim allowance. Can you Make a new video on how you use trim allowance on a bi-fold type wallet? I think a simple small card wallet would be too simple, or both! =]

    Bill slot? It's open on both sides in that location.
    Suntan the leather? Does that mean you leave it in the sun for a natural darkening?
    That's a rather odd place to have a seam.

    • @Corter
      @Corter  2 роки тому +3

      yep, bill slot is only 4" wide at the bottom - it's not really my design, more of a traditional modern Japanese style. That's where the seam comes from :)
      And yes, if you use natural veg tan it tans in the sun just like skin

    • @rebelmarshall3632
      @rebelmarshall3632 2 роки тому

      @@Corter I'm aware that leather darkens in the sun. I was questioning what you said about some comment you made about sun tanning the project. I'd never heard of any leather crafter doing such a thing to darken the leather. I am also aware that the pattern is a traditional Japanese wallet, as you stated such in the intro. I was just making a comment about the placement of the seam being odd and questioning the bill fold not being secure. You seem to have missed that I never stated that it was your design. You seem defensive for some reason. There's help for that.
