    I ordered the kit as soon as it was back in stock and it's really well made. I had a question so I called them and spoke to Chad. He answered my questions and set me on the path to making bespoke pens, reassured. Thanks Chad--and thanks for putting all this together in one place. Wish me luck!

    I just ordered the last of everything I need today! Was a long list. Can't wait to get rolling! This is Fred from Canada that you talked to on the phone a couple of times in the last week.

    For squaring a blank before you turn, is there a tool that exists that is like a barrel trimmer, but that does not have a hole in the middle, so that you could just tap both sides of the blank and have both ends square quickly? I'd like to add some sections at the end of my blanks

      We use a squaring jig and a disk sander. It is super quick :-)

      Here is a link to the one that we use. There is a video there as well :-)

      I had a look at it, looks so convenient for kit pens! But I'd like to make kitless pens as well, I'm wondering what you'd do to square the blank for kitless pens?

    Love the video and series, I am really hoping to mainly use timber blanks for the body and cap and as they are not very good at taking threads would love to know if you could do or talk about how you would make the same pen in your videos but out of timber, utilising say ebonite linings in the cap and body.

      We don't have that planned yet, but it is an excellent suggestion and something that we will for sure think about doing in the future!

    Is the bit for the cap 12.2 or is it 12.5? The site only lists a 12mm and a 12.5mm.

    • @TurnersTv
      @TurnersTv  6 місяців тому

      It is 12.2 but you should be able to use 12.5 :-) Hope that helps!

    Nice video! Thank you!
    The cap and body pattern does not match. How to get them to match nicely?

    • @TurnersTv
      @TurnersTv  23 дні тому

      usually the way we match them up is by marking the blank in some way to remind us to line them up well with the tooling. There is always a sharpie nearby for this :-)
      Hope that helps :-)

    Hi Chad, I'm just looking into the tools that I need to get started with these. I already have a ring making boring head that I bought from you. Is this an acceptable substitute for needing to buy a tenon cutter?

    • @TurnersTv
      @TurnersTv  9 місяців тому +1

      You can absolutely use your boring head to cut your tenons! :-)

    Hi, Very nice work. Love the video...where can i find all these tools in UK? Thanks

    • @TurnersTv
      @TurnersTv  7 місяців тому

      Thats a great question! That we know not a ton about unfortunately. We know Record Power is big for the machines and tools, and for mandrels, taps and dies etc, we are happy to ship to the UK. (and do ship to the UK often). Wish I had a better referral for you for local, sorry about that!
