  • In this video Chad goes over making a roller ball section for a custom/kitless bespoke pen, including measurements, tips and tricks. And as you will see in the video he adapts to some difficulties and comes out with a nice section at the end!

    Here are the specs for the piece he is working on:
    55mm long starting section
    9/32 drill bit 35mm (from tenon end)
    5mm drill bit 50mm (from tenon end)
    2.5mm drill bit through
    8mm long cut for Tenon- Used M10x1 (single start) die for cutting threads

    NOTE: I found the 2.5mm is tight for the roller ink I am using. The very tip of the ink fits fine but there is a taper up to about 3mm just below the 5mm shoulder. I ended up drilling a 3mm whole (before the 2.5mm hole) about 5mm deeper than the 5mm hole. If you can follow that it might solve your issue if you find the ink it a bit tight.
