And done beautifully too. The Fat Controller doesn't have to do any getting severe, he just mediates with the bloke who is. Mavis almost wastes her last chance but immediately redeems herself, an unusual twist for Wilbert but somehow he does it without making the story seem convoluted.

So Sad, Rushton's last narration, he was truly the best, and reverend Awdry's last story too :(

Personally I think the narrator in Percy and the Trousers was best.

I heard another cassette was planned but the marketing for the show led them to cancel it. Shame, I'd have loved to hear Rushton do some of the early Christopher Awdry books.

It's a shame that this is Wilbert's last Railway Series story. It feels so anticlimactic, which I think is why the book is set a few years before its publication. This would mean that _Sleeping Beauty_ is, chronologically speaking, Wilbert's last story.

(sigh) Why oh why did Wilbert Awdry decided to retire from making more of his greatest book stories ever becoming a grand piece of literature and entertainment inspired of railroading? He could've done so much more to stretch every single character and their arcs through new journeys still happening now as there were then in the past.
I think it's really outstanding that there are folk out there still keeping the man's legacy alive and thriving on creating more relative content for both the children's sake and theirs - all because of Mr. Awdry's enthusiasm of railroading. Rest In Paradise to the Reverend Wilbert Awdry 👼😇🌹💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐🕊✝️🛐 We all wouldn't become such fascinating, earnest railroad enthusiasts if it wasn't for a human being like you. Long live _The Railway Series_ and _Thomas & Friends._

This story makes the same minor mistake as the TV series did. The narrator clearly says the men anchored Toby with ropes, yet the illustrations clearly show chains instead.

@e-122psi3 That was written with the TV series in mind and separate from the Railway Series. Also, I think that 'Christmas Party' was adapted from an idea by Britt Allcroft and David Mitton.
