Suncole, Old King Coal and the Culdee Fell Trucks need more stories about them, genuinely don't like having so many useful characters wasted by only ever being seen or used once.
@@jamesthomas5109 Christopher Awdry actually explained that the limited traffic and safety precautions are the reason why there weren't any other stories about them. Still, I would have LOVED to have seen "Devil's Back" in the model series!
@@timesnewlogan2032 Same here mate, shame. The Culdee Fell engines are very unique, I guess the fandom will be making more videos about them in future.
Personal canon time: Bill and Ben (as they did in the TVS) as well as Stanley, Charlie, Molly, Belle and Stafford take the place of the BR engines in "Percy Takes the Plunge". The twins apparently did so well at the docks while Percy and Duck were away that Topham decided to purchase them for the NWR. Peter Sam brought Cora with him and Sir Handel after they were purchased by the SKR. Murdoch is the "Big City Engine" Gordon and Duck argued with. Paxton and Sidney arrived on Sodor shortly after "Old Stuck-Up" had his accident and was sent away for repairs. Paxton was assigned to Tidmouth as its new shunter (a la "Paxton Prevails" by TheBuriedTruck) and grew rather chummy with the Skarloey engines; Sidney worked various odd jobs around the island. Paxton also takes the place of the Works Diesel in this canon's "Deep Freeze" equivalent (think something like "Gordon Runs Dry" but with James). Talyllyn is female. Merlin, Mallard, Green Arrow, Flying Scotsman, Stephen, Wilbert (the Austerity engine named for the Reverend) and Stepney were all present at the Great Railway Show. Whiff, Scruff and Harvey worked on the Peel Godred line before it was made electric. Sixteen's steelworks was the same one that Hurricane and Frankie worked at. They also worked with a diesel who rambled on and on about "gold dust" and someone called "Twinkle Toes", but he was later moved elsewhere due to his rapid fuel consumption. The Culdee Fell trucks used to be far more mean-spirited, but unlike their mainland counterparts, they quickly realized how dangerous their pranks could be. Especially after the Godred incident.
Here is my headcanon, Charlie and Billy are the wellsworth and suddery tank engines and as for the sharp Stewart engine, his name was simply "Stewart" and he works at the sir roberts estate in my head canon
I remember when I first saw the 4 BR Engines in Percy Takes The Plunge & thinking "Wow I can't wait to see those in the episode!" 🤩 So imagine my disappointment when the show used Bill & Ben...
You can't really blame britt and tv crew since they didn't have the budget to make the models but then again...they could have just bought a couple of model toy trains from Hornby, bachmann, etc. And then they make the face mask with eyes drawn on so it would be cheaper. It may sound dumb but it's better then reusing
As someone who stares into the sun 24/7, I can confirm that I see Fred and Alf throwing hands in space. I saw them take out a local planet not long ago.
10:05 Though not a Mario 64 boss, Old King Coal does appear as a boss in Banjo-Tooie (on N64 as well) in the boiler of Chuffy the Train in Glitter Gulch Mine-
I had a big city engine take n play. I was 6 when I had it and didn’t know about the book series (despite me watching Henry sees red on my grandmas TV on UA-cam multiple times 😂) and he seemed unique to me cause I’ve never seen him in the show before

Headcanon time: When Sir Topham Hatt talked about getting an austerity tank engine, he did. This was billy, but of course as an austerity. He was very annoying at first, but through some character development he would learn how he could benefit from being less annoying. He was also built with Wilbert, the two being very close.
9:38 Genuinely wonder if the Ministry of Defence sent both a standard gauge and a narrow gauge engine to Sodor to help with the war effort? Just a thought.
Minor correction on the subject of Barry: While Barry Island is a part of the greater town of Barry in South Wales, Woodham Brothers scrapyard (colloquially Barry Scrapyard) isn't actually on the island. (Which also isn't an island. It's sort of misnomers all the way down.) Barry the planned engine likely isn't named directly after the island.
13:05 judging by the image you used (if it wasn't just a filler image) makes me wonder if Charlie and Billy could be from this railway... Oh god, they worked together on the same railway, no wonder why they were sent to Topham's railway instead.
The Works Diesel is the very diesel that rescued James, in the final chapter of James and the Diesel Engines. That's laughably wrong, since Bear would've been given some development and be the very engine to make James end his hatred for diesels for good.
