Homemade McD's Egg McMuffins - How to Make Your Own McMuffin

  • Learn how to make your very own egg McMuffins right at home! These are super easy to make and I'll even show you how to make the eggs without egg rings! Make up a dozen and freeze them to have throughout the week. You can use bacon, sausage or Canadian bacon on these. Make them your way!
For make-shift egg rings, you can use WIDE mouth canning jar rings, cookie cutters, biscuit cutters, Dole pineapple tidbits cans with the bottoms cut off or you can use egg rings if you have them. Anything round, that sits flat and is 3" to 3-1/2" in diameter.
To freeze for later, wrap in waxed paper and put into a zip top bag and freeze. When you want one, leave in the waxed paper and microwave for 1-2 minutes or until heated through. Sandwich WILL be hot! Enjoy!

When you flip the egg over, I usually place the cheese slice on top so that it can melt a little. So much better. To warm the entire sandwich, just place it in the pan for a minute. No microwave needed.

You could also just "warm the cheese" by waiting until your eggs nearly done before toasting your muffins. Then, when you assemble, everything will still be warm/hot and it'll melt your cheese perfectly. No need to chance getting cheese in your pan and no need to "warm the sandwich after you've just cooked everything".

@HangGlideTube you mean that they don't create the cheese in a lab and use real dairy? I'm not denying that it has real dairy in it but it seems that it has way too low dairy to be considered "real cheese". That article is from 2015 so maybe it's not the same. I only wish I could give you 100 thumbs up for this.
I just purchased a big box (12) of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, & cheese croissants, and had I seen this before I went to the store this morning, I would have picked up some English Muffins for sure. (I did get 3 lbs. of bacon & 3 doz. eggs)
I never buy things like this, but my son and his girlfriend like to grab them before leaving for work. I love it that there is only a microwave involved and no mess when I get up, after they leave for work.
I can now do these up myself, and not pay an arm and a leg for them, or have them making them and leave me with a wrecked kitchen.
God Bless you for this one my friend, I really needed it. I love my son being here, but the clean kitchen is a must for me, and they always leave a nightmare for me to wake up to. The worst thing to do to someone in the a.m. Messy Kitchen! PS I'm allergic to a.m. rrrrr
    Thank you a million times.

Sheila6325 LOL @ allergic to the AM, HAHA!! I totally agree, a messed kitchen is the worst! I make my own sausage croissan'wiches as well. It's pretty much the same as these but using sausage and on croissants. They are SO good! And of course, do the same, wrap in waxed paper and into the freezer. It's so nice to have breakfast ready to go and not have to dirty pans and bowls and spend time prepping and cooking when you could be drinking coffee, LOL!! ;-)
