Poisoned SnS can do wonders vs Black Gravs [Royal Rose for exmpl]. Cos' black species have a destinct weakness to poison. Always attack his right wing [to the left for you], when he tries to beam you. Block screams. Bomb his belly IF you want to break his chest plate. Any armor with ESP and Abnormal Attack Up works very well. Dual G-Black Gravs are a joke with this set up, if you only need to kill them and farm common materials. If you want to break chests on both monsters, it'll require bombs, but still quite easy. Just keep attacking the wing and keep that poison stacking up.
