Oh gosh, I "perfected" this hunt back in the day.. I tried to optimize every canon ball I got, knew the leg movement, attacks & positions in and out and basically tried to speedrun the thing without taking damage. I had the armor and everything so I don't even remember why, probably just for the sake of it. x)
I used to do the same with Lao Shan Lung lol. It was to the point where if I didn't trigger the final stage by the end of the 1st area ( I think it was the 1st area, might've been the 2nd. It's been like 10 years since the game was stolen) I was doing a bad job. I must've killed close to a hundred of them throughout my time playing FU
i think you can fight rusted kushala in area 2, when that time comes edit: and for gunners, something neat you can do (iirc) is shoot piercing shots at the shell (aka the lao skull) and they will go through and hit a weak spot inside of it.

I think it might be because the Dragonator missed. It tends to happen more than you think. Then again, we'd know for sure if the older games showed damage numbers like they do in the 5th gen games. It has its pitfalls, but it's really nice to know exactly how effective your attacks actually are beyond either mere guesswork. It also makes some hits really satisfying, especially with Rise's Splitting Wyvernshot - basically the Demolisher from the 4th generation, but you can aim it. Or seeing how your damage is multiplied by TEN under Counter Gong.
As a hammer/db main I found your gameplay pretty useful. I went with dead revolver, snow monke set and AuL kitchen buff, did the same thing: triple pound legs most of the fight. Just after using the dragonator for 2nd time, 5 min left and losing hope I could kill it that run, the big ass crabby went down after triple pounding a leg. Thx
Playing these in MHFU was epic. Imagine if we could hunt with wirebugs, good multiplayer, switch skills, and rampage quests, in Rise?! I'd love to see it. Also shoutouts to hammer users.

The things I usually bring before: Ancient Potion, 2 Max Potions, 10 Mega and 10 potions, 10 Herb, 5 Mega juice, Armor/Power charm, 20 Whetstones, 2 Large Barrel Bomb+, 3 Large Barrel Bomb, 3 Small Barrel Bomb+, farcaster, and Items that can be found lying on the map and from the supply chest. And the things that I usually bring now: Litterally items that can be found in supply chest and stuffs lying around the map. Keep up the good work fellow hunter.😁 I do hope you can reach the quests in G ranks coz i've been stuck there lately.

When I first played mhfu, I remember I got "walled" at the congalala mission and then I just gave up, but now that I came back to it, I learned that watching a few tutorials really does help :D And now Shen...In my first attempt, time ran out. I didnt really know what the hell to do to this f*cker. Second attempt, I had already analyzed your video a bit, managed to repel him, and man how happy I was. I decided I wanted to try killing him. I came back to your video and learned his walking pattern. Killed the beast with dual blades and less than a min left. Hey thanks a lot for the video! I really like the way you edited it ^^ I've just got to this quest, and one of my issues was that the game doesn't tell you much beyond "hi the town is dying". I wasn't entirely sure where I should be attacking or whether ballistas or cannons are worth it or when to use the dragonator etc. etc. (and also if attacking the pincers was part of the reddening thing? it's not, whoops) so with all the experimenting I actually did worse on my second try. Now I understand the fight better I'll hopefully have an easier time :o (It's a very very cool fight though)

I’m having a bit of difficulty defeating this boss as I’m not much of a hammer user. I can use the bow, bowgun or even a heavy bowgun, but the hammer just seems off to me. Is the great sword also a viable option or not?
Greatsword is okay, but his feet won't really stay still long enough to do a level 3 charge, not without focus I think. A pierce heavy bowgun or a dragon bow will do fine, there's a strategy that involves shooting through his shell to hit his weak spot. You can check out my shen videos with bow for more specifics.
I only have the ravager blade for now and I can work with not doing the full charge, but maybe a level 2 charge. I’m still new since this game was downloaded on my psp for me with a memory card, but this is the most fun I’ve had, just need to know how to best this monster. I’m also more of a gunlance, greatsword, longsword and bow and arrow user. Will a good bow do the trick too?
lmao that's fair. When i first went through this game I was spooked for each new monster cause I didn't know how it would go >.< until I did Troublesome Pair and it was kinda easy, I felt pretty badass lol.
OOF 😔😔 You could maybe emulate it? Play through it again! :P It plays pretty well with an xbox or playstation controller I'd recommend using "PPSSPP" it's a great emulator, just google it, though getting MHFU to play it might be tricky.

Hey, it depends on what weapon you're using. If you have proper spacing and take advantage of staggering him before he hits the wall each time, you'll do fine. Quake Resistance is just for convenience and a recommendation for newer players. Also, by Garuga Set, I'm assuming you mean Azure Rathalos with the Garuga Mask to get AuL and HGE, because the Garuga Set in low rank isn't really that good, Reckless Abandon benefits from having a higher base attack value, which you don't really get until later in the game, not to say it's not a decent skill, just that it's, technically, mathematically worse than AuL until a certain ATP breakpoint.
For the people who don't know this fact, you can break Shen Gaorens back (The Lao Shan Lung Skull) two times I think? And MAYBE his 2 front Claws but with this fact I'm really not sure, I'm only sure with his breakable back.

Maybe slightly off topic but do you have any tips for Stygian Zinogre in MH3U? I just did the souls of darkness quest where you fight two in the tundra and managed to complete it with 5 minutes left but it was insanely difficult and tedious. When I looked at his hitzones his literal only good ones are his head and back and his head feels harder to hit in 3U. Fade slash with Longsword won't even reach it and that's one of the main things I incorporate into my combos 😤 His homing bugs are also annoying because it's hard to keep track of them and Stygian Zinogre at the same time.
You can, but the game doesn't tell you when it's ready again. I don't know what the cooldown is though :/ a video I watched said you can use the "10 minutes left!" Message as a sort of sign for when it's usable again, and they did use it twice in the video but yeah

It was about to attack the fortress(with only 10% dignity left) with its pincers when I ran out of time, but I was surprised it said on the screen that I completed the quest. The quest stated that I will fail if I run out of time(I watched the timer reaches zero), yet I still managed to win for some reason.

@@nicrovender2962 that’s because you repelled it, that’s a mechanic exclusive to certain monsters, usually elder dragons, but some other monsters like shen gaoren as well, it counts as a win but you don’t get as much rewards

It would be cool if they did a redux of this monster but have you do little to no damage to its actual head and body, but have it so you have to topple him 2 or 3 times and when he falls his shell does some insane damage to it because it falls on him

@@HeadHunter455 hey thanks for that long reply. Finally managed it yesterday - 5 felyne chefs with meat and veggie (health +30 and attack +idk). Garuga Armor and Devil Slicer. Used a decend amount of lg barrel bombs and used the dragonator twice. Had like 2 minutes left when I killed him. Idk why but in my case he went down for a short time everytime one of his legs reached the maximum "amount of red", while he went down for a long time after all 4 were damaged. Thanks for your vids though, makes me really want to play through all the quests until i beat fatalis, akantor and ukanlos. Prepare for comments under some HR quest videos of yours haha
It is Lao shan's skull but it is bigger than the Lao shan in the game. Others say that the Lao shan in this game is still a baby and it's actually bigger than this crab.
@Commander Darkside same thing happened with zorah and dalamadur. The dalamadur in the rotten vale is so much bigger and the zorah skull in the guiding lands is huge
@@sushiibird7799 it was a bit easier going backwards, using, like, the rathalos LS for instance, just does so much damage to it, I was surprised. But yeah, trying to farm it out when you first meet Blangonga is just ugh lol or using some other weapon types >.
Just finish trying this mission with a Great Sword and a Heavy BowGun. Both failed, but not gonna lie, it was fun shooting a giant carapaceon with explosive upon explosive. Too bad I'm broke as shit, because I'm a GS-main, and I don't really have a special armour aside for range battle. Which one is more effective in your opinion, targeting the bottom of the monster, where all the legs are connected, or just blast the thing in the face with Crag and the other exploding ones? Now, I'm aiming for the Rock Launcher, the one that burst fire the heavy ammunition, just to satisfy my boom addiction. Those poor, poor Basarios. They're as good as dead.
If you need money, I'd say hunt something that you're good at fighting and don't need the materials for anything, then just sell all of the materials at the end of the hunt (except maybe rare stuff) also just sell monster materials from your item box, I do it a lot lol I've seen pretty good results with piercing shots to the shell, since the weak spot for Shen is under his shell, and you can hold a LOT more pierce shots than you can crag and clust shots. I'd say try and get a better GS maybe? Or try using the hammer and armor that I did, but HBG can work as well, check out some other videos. If I can maybe I'll cover using HBG against Shen Gaoren sometime. Good luck!
@@HeadHunter455 Just killed GIANT ENEMY CRAB myself.. was disappointed to find Select doesn't do anything there. Though I felt like by time I can get up to the Dragonator myself, I might as well have remained downstairs and kept hitting him with my Kushy HBG. Same thing with Lao, I'm pretty sure an adrenaline+2 HBG can match or exceed the DPS of running-to-and-from the siege weapons on my own, and that's just in low rank.

Uh, the hammer just does a lot of damage, so it helps burst the big crab down. lmao, thanks :) Well, this is the Village elder quest, it has less HP than the one in the guild hall, but yeah! Gotta try and do a bunch of damage >.< The Black Bow I works really well also vs Shen and Lao because they're *very* weak to dragon damage and pierce hits multiple times, it's kinda nutty and a lot of fun.

I need to try this, I defeat mr crab thing with the Ceanataur gunner armor, Azure Rathalos LBG and full stack to make LV1 Pierce ammo, use twice the dragonator and the ballista, the bombs in chest and some Doritos, nothing aditional, maybe some LV2 and LV3 Pierce ammo, but the LV1 are enough. Great video, need to try this and GS, bow Is Also posible but hard, mustn't fail a single shot. Love ur videos ❤️❤️

For this guy and Lao, I use full Monoblos set with Adrenaline +2 and either a Fire Longsword or a Piercing Heavy Bowgun. Makes the fight significantly shorter, but also riskier since you die in 1 hit. 😂

If you're able to move your game saves over to a phone or desktop or laptop, sufficiently secured against external attack, of course, you may be able to play it on the PPSSPP emulator, which you can run through a variety of scans to ensure the safety of installation, it's also open source, meaning you can read through the code yourself, haha, jokes, I know, just get the interns to do it. I am unsure as to how that process of data transfer works, but through your many intelligence networks I'm sure you can find an adequate answer to that. What I meant to say was I can't decide what bowgun to stick to, I was planning on buying only 1 bowgun(one light, one heavy I guess) ever since I found out I can only modify(mod) a bowgun instead of improving it to make it look cooler. I was also quite disappointed with the damage output of my bowgun(the first one given to the player) after I modded it, I guess it was heavily dependent on the type of ammos used(I'm too lazy to make them since they run out easily and I'm saving money).

The armor set has like 6 or 7 open slots, and you only need 5 to get Speed Sharpening, and the decorations are pretty cheap, so it's nice to just slap it on if you have room. Today I've completed this mission on my second attempt, without watching any video. The only thing that leaves me in doubt is the fact that I won when all the 50 minutes pf the mission passed, I didn't actually killed the crab, just plummeted it until the world "Victory" appeared right in front of me and a still alive Shan Gaoren. Somebody could explain? I thought time limit was a losing condition for this mission.
Oof, Teostra is tough! Try not to get discouraged. There's a reason I avoided fighting him for my guide playthrough :/ I'll try and figure something out for the elders in G-Rank, because it just seems right for me to cover them at least there lol But you want to try and hit his head, doing it enough times will cause him to topple over. If you can't do it very well with your current weapon, try another one. I'd recommend Longsword or Hammer in particular, but anything can work. Also, you should really consider using Terrain Damage Negate if you aren't, it'll help you take less chip damage from his aura.

How am I supposed to kill this when I can't even kill khezu ;-;. No matter how much damage I put into khezu he won't die. And I fail by time running out. Someone help please
Aw, Khezu is pretty rough, but you can do it!! Maybe try making sure you have a strong enough weapon and armor, if you're running out of time you should try to upgrade your gear. I've made some videos on Khezu. Also try and use different weapon types, you never know, you might find something that works better for you or kills it faster than whatever you're currently using :)
I made every village quest that led to this urgent quest but couldn't smithing a blackhammer wasn't listed. Tried two times with a 560 longsword and failed. The only dragon weapon i can smith is the sakura recorder hunting horn. Lets pray this weapon deals enough damage. This mission is bullshit..
I mean you could try to use the hammer that I used in the video, I hope you have better luck in your future attempts :/ Shen Gaoren and Lao Shan Lung are definitely not as fun as some others because of how you can fail in ways that you can't in other quests. It's basically a DPS check, though you can also try to time out staggers to keep him from attacking, but that's easier said than done of course. Try and keep your head up 😓 You just gotta clear this quest once, then you can move on 🙂

I only had 1minute left and decided to race to the dragonator to use it a second time. I was super nervous and allready thought i lost, i prayed. It's been a while since I fought this guy sooo....does anyone exactly know the breakable parts? I'm 100% sure you can break it twice but I can't remember if you can break it completely like with the other crabs. And are the front claws breakable? aaalso what's high rank gaoren's hp? Because that dude wont die. I go rathalos bow + silver rath armor for elemental boost and constantly fully charge the shell for piercing but I always repell him
I think you can break the shell twice, but it wont break completely. I don't think you can break any other parts, but I'm not really sure, I wouldn't recommend attacking the claws/pincers anyways. I'm not too sure for high rank stuff just yet, sorry :/ but low rank has ~14,000 HP, I dunno if that value varies at all. So, high rank will probably have more HP and have a general defense modifier I believe, just for being in high rank.
wouldn't it be faster if you attacked his belly when crouched? I always attack the belly when im usin hammer and hit the legs if he's either attacking the wall or when I cant hit his belly. Also, you hyped for mh rise?
Probably. I'm not really a speedrunner or anything like that, so this is just how I fight it, it's similar to how I didn't focus solely on Chameleos' legs in that video.

Oh gosh, I "perfected" this hunt back in the day.. I tried to optimize every canon ball I got, knew the leg movement, attacks & positions in and out and basically tried to speedrun the thing without taking damage. I had the armor and everything so I don't even remember why, probably just for the sake of it. x)
I used to do the same with Lao Shan Lung lol. It was to the point where if I didn't trigger the final stage by the end of the 1st area ( I think it was the 1st area, might've been the 2nd. It's been like 10 years since the game was stolen) I was doing a bad job. I must've killed close to a hundred of them throughout my time playing FU
i think you can fight rusted kushala in area 2, when that time comes
edit: and for gunners, something neat you can do (iirc) is shoot piercing shots at the shell (aka the lao skull) and they will go through and hit a weak spot inside of it.

I think it might be because the Dragonator missed. It tends to happen more than you think. Then again, we'd know for sure if the older games showed damage numbers like they do in the 5th gen games.
It has its pitfalls, but it's really nice to know exactly how effective your attacks actually are beyond either mere guesswork. It also makes some hits really satisfying, especially with Rise's Splitting Wyvernshot - basically the Demolisher from the 4th generation, but you can aim it. Or seeing how your damage is multiplied by TEN under Counter Gong.

As a hammer/db main I found your gameplay pretty useful. I went with dead revolver, snow monke set and AuL kitchen buff, did the same thing: triple pound legs most of the fight. Just after using the dragonator for 2nd time, 5 min left and losing hope I could kill it that run, the big ass crabby went down after triple pounding a leg. Thx

Ancient Potion, 2 Max Potions, 10 Mega and 10 potions, 10 Herb, 5 Mega juice, Armor/Power charm, 20 Whetstones, 2 Large Barrel Bomb+, 3 Large Barrel Bomb, 3 Small Barrel Bomb+, farcaster, and Items that can be found lying on the map and from the supply chest.
And the things that I usually bring now:
Litterally items that can be found in supply chest and stuffs lying around the map.

I've just got to this quest, and one of my issues was that the game doesn't tell you much beyond "hi the town is dying". I wasn't entirely sure where I should be attacking or whether ballistas or cannons are worth it or when to use the dragonator etc. etc. (and also if attacking the pincers was part of the reddening thing? it's not, whoops) so with all the experimenting I actually did worse on my second try. Now I understand the fight better I'll hopefully have an easier time :o

I’m having a bit of difficulty defeating this boss as I’m not much of a hammer user. I can use the bow, bowgun or even a heavy bowgun, but the hammer just seems off to me. Is the great sword also a viable option or not?
Greatsword is okay, but his feet won't really stay still long enough to do a level 3 charge, not without focus I think.
A pierce heavy bowgun or a dragon bow will do fine, there's a strategy that involves shooting through his shell to hit his weak spot. You can check out my shen videos with bow for more specifics.
I only have the ravager blade for now and I can work with not doing the full charge, but maybe a level 2 charge. I’m still new since this game was downloaded on my psp for me with a memory card, but this is the most fun I’ve had, just need to know how to best this monster. I’m also more of a gunlance, greatsword, longsword and bow and arrow user. Will a good bow do the trick too?

Hey, it depends on what weapon you're using.
If you have proper spacing and take advantage of staggering him before he hits the wall each time, you'll do fine.
Quake Resistance is just for convenience and a recommendation for newer players.
Also, by Garuga Set, I'm assuming you mean Azure Rathalos with the Garuga Mask to get AuL and HGE, because the Garuga Set in low rank isn't really that good, Reckless Abandon benefits from having a higher base attack value, which you don't really get until later in the game, not to say it's not a decent skill, just that it's, technically, mathematically worse than AuL until a certain ATP breakpoint.

Maybe slightly off topic but do you have any tips for Stygian Zinogre in MH3U? I just did the souls of darkness quest where you fight two in the tundra and managed to complete it with 5 minutes left but it was insanely difficult and tedious. When I looked at his hitzones his literal only good ones are his head and back and his head feels harder to hit in 3U. Fade slash with Longsword won't even reach it and that's one of the main things I incorporate into my combos 😤 His homing bugs are also annoying because it's hard to keep track of them and Stygian Zinogre at the same time.
Unfortunately I don't have much experience with MH3U :/ I just hunted one earlier in MHW but that's quite different I'm sure lol sorry D:

You can, but the game doesn't tell you when it's ready again. I don't know what the cooldown is though :/ a video I watched said you can use the "10 minutes left!" Message as a sort of sign for when it's usable again, and they did use it twice in the video but yeah

It was about to attack the fortress(with only 10% dignity left) with its pincers when I ran out of time, but I was surprised it said on the screen that I completed the quest. The quest stated that I will fail if I run out of time(I watched the timer reaches zero), yet I still managed to win for some reason.

@@nicrovender2962 that’s because you repelled it, that’s a mechanic exclusive to certain monsters, usually elder dragons, but some other monsters like shen gaoren as well, it counts as a win but you don’t get as much rewards

Well, shen is weakest to fire, so using Devil Slicer wont do very good, though it's not like he's immune to Thunder either.

The same armor as in this video would do fine. The best(?) fire LS in 5★ is Lunastra's, called "Sabre" with 720 ATP and 350 Fire (150 and 35 unbloated)

If you really want to try and min/max your damage output:
Make sure you're eating for the damage buff in your kitchen (If you have 4 Felyne Chefs, it should be, ideally, Fruit+Fruit, or Fish + Fish. Fish is Squid, Shrimp or Caviar, Fruit is Mango and Jam.)

You could use the Kut-Ku D set instead, with 2 Fierce Jewels it'll give you AuM and RA+1

@@HeadHunter455 hey thanks for that long reply. Finally managed it yesterday - 5 felyne chefs with meat and veggie (health +30 and attack +idk). Garuga Armor and Devil Slicer. Used a decend amount of lg barrel bombs and used the dragonator twice. Had like 2 minutes left when I killed him. Idk why but in my case he went down for a short time everytime one of his legs reached the maximum "amount of red", while he went down for a long time after all 4 were damaged. Thanks for your vids though, makes me really want to play through all the quests until i beat fatalis, akantor and ukanlos. Prepare for comments under some HR quest videos of yours haha

It is Lao shan's skull but it is bigger than the Lao shan in the game. Others say that the Lao shan in this game is still a baby and it's actually bigger than this crab.
@Commander Darkside same thing happened with zorah and dalamadur. The dalamadur in the rotten vale is so much bigger and the zorah skull in the guiding lands is huge

Just finish trying this mission with a Great Sword and a Heavy BowGun.
Both failed, but not gonna lie, it was fun shooting a giant carapaceon with explosive upon explosive.
Too bad I'm broke as shit, because I'm a GS-main, and I don't really have a special armour aside for range battle.
Which one is more effective in your opinion, targeting the bottom of the monster, where all the legs are connected, or just blast the thing in the face with Crag and the other exploding ones?
Now, I'm aiming for the Rock Launcher, the one that burst fire the heavy ammunition, just to satisfy my boom addiction.

If you need money, I'd say hunt something that you're good at fighting and don't need the materials for anything, then just sell all of the materials at the end of the hunt (except maybe rare stuff) also just sell monster materials from your item box, I do it a lot lol
I've seen pretty good results with piercing shots to the shell, since the weak spot for Shen is under his shell, and you can hold a LOT more pierce shots than you can crag and clust shots.
I'd say try and get a better GS maybe? Or try using the hammer and armor that I did, but HBG can work as well, check out some other videos. If I can maybe I'll cover using HBG against Shen Gaoren sometime. Good luck!

Using hammer 🔨 against the siege monsters are the best choice because they ignore you anyways.
I hope MH Rise has crabs and big crabs and mega giant crab enemies like Shen here. People don't fear crabs enough to respect them.

Unfortunately you can't skip the cinematic cameras for dragonators, as far as I'm aware.
@@HeadHunter455 Just killed GIANT ENEMY CRAB myself.. was disappointed to find Select doesn't do anything there. Though I felt like by time I can get up to the Dragonator myself, I might as well have remained downstairs and kept hitting him with my Kushy HBG. The Black Bow I works really well also vs Shen and Lao because they're *very* weak to dragon damage and pierce hits multiple times, it's kinda nutty and a lot of fun.

I need to try this, I defeat mr crab thing with the Ceanataur gunner armor, Azure Rathalos LBG and full stack to make LV1 Pierce ammo, use twice the dragonator and the ballista, the bombs in chest and some Doritos, nothing aditional, maybe some LV2 and LV3 Pierce ammo, but the LV1 are enough. Great video, need to try this and GS, bow Is Also posible but hard, mustn't fail a single shot. Love ur videos ❤️❤️

Just managed to beat this with 3 mins to spare with the rathlos LS after 3 failed attempts with other weapons. Definitely a weird boss.

For this guy and Lao, I use full Monoblos set with Adrenaline +2 and either a Fire Longsword or a Piercing Heavy Bowgun.
Makes the fight significantly shorter, but also riskier since you die in 1 hit. 😂

You need to play it through PPSSPP though, but that's more good than bad IMO. You can find people to play and chat with on their discord server as well. You could join mine too if ya like but you'll definitely have more discussion and gameplay in the hunstermonter discord lol, mine is just for my channel.

Hey, great to hear mister federal bureau sir. If you're able to move your game saves over to a phone or desktop or laptop, sufficiently secured against external attack, of course, you may be able to play it on the PPSSPP emulator, which you can run through a variety of scans to ensure the safety of installation, it's also open source, meaning you can read through the code yourself, haha, jokes, I know, just get the interns to do it. I am unsure as to how that process of data transfer works, but through your many intelligence networks I'm sure you can find an adequate answer to that.
Anyways, through use of that emulator you could use OpenVPN, another open source program, to play on the public server "Hunsterverse", I understand that it being public may or may not be a matter of national security, as I believe the goal is to *privatize* absolutely everything on the planet, however, this seems to be the best course of action regarding play with others over the internet.

What I meant to say was I can't decide what bowgun to stick to, I was planning on buying only 1 bowgun(one light, one heavy I guess) ever since I found out I can only modify(mod) a bowgun instead of improving it to make it look cooler. I was also quite disappointed with the damage output of my bowgun(the first one given to the player) after I modded it, I guess it was heavily dependent on the type of ammos used(I'm too lazy to make them since they run out easily and I'm saving money).

oof, Keep trying! Every fight and matchup has some sort of trick, you just have to find it. Sometimes the trick just involves more familarity and practice.

#7: yeah, when I did a few test hunts before I noticed how sharpening just took a while, and I missed out on some damage at a couple of points. The armor set has like 6 or 7 open slots, and you only need 5 to get Speed Sharpening, and the decorations are pretty cheap, so it's nice to just slap it on if you have room. Same with the Shot Mix/Bullet Limit skill with Armory decorations for gunners.

Today I've completed this mission on my second attempt, without watching any video. The only thing that leaves me in doubt is the fact that I won when all the 50 minutes pf the mission passed, I didn't actually killed the crab, just plummeted it until the world "Victory" appeared right in front of me and a still alive Shan Gaoren.
Somebody could explain? I thought time limit was a losing condition for this mission.
You don't have to kill it, just repell it by dealing enough damage before it destroys the castle and time runs out

Bow can work, get the strongest one with pierce that you can and shoot at its shell, remember to bring power coatings and materials to make more.

I'll try and figure something out for the elders in G-Rank, because it just seems right for me to cover them at least there lol
But you want to try and hit his head, doing it enough times will cause him to topple over. If you can't do it very well with your current weapon, try another one. I'd recommend Longsword or Hammer in particular, but anything can work.
Also, you should really consider using Terrain Damage Negate if you aren't, it'll help you take less chip damage from his aura.

How am I supposed to kill this when I can't even kill khezu ;-;. No matter how much damage I put into khezu he won't die. And I fail by time running out. Someone help please
Aw, Khezu is pretty rough, but you can do it!!
Maybe try making sure you have a strong enough weapon and armor, if you're running out of time you should try to upgrade your gear. I've made some videos on Khezu.
Also try and use different weapon types, you never know, you might find something that works better for you or kills it faster than whatever you're currently using :)
I made every village quest that led to this urgent quest but couldn't smithing a blackhammer wasn't listed. Tried two times with a 560 longsword and failed. The only dragon weapon i can smith is the sakura recorder hunting horn. Lets pray this weapon deals enough damage. This mission is bullshit..
I mean you could try to use the hammer that I used in the video, I hope you have better luck in your future attempts :/
Shen Gaoren and Lao Shan Lung are definitely not as fun as some others because of how you can fail in ways that you can't in other quests. It's basically a DPS check, though you can also try to time out staggers to keep him from attacking, but that's easier said than done of course.
Try and keep your head up 😓 You just gotta clear this quest once, then you can move on 🙂
@@HeadHunter455 Hey, i allready did it but still thanks for your help and motivation. It worked with the sakura recorder on the first try but it was suuuuper close. I only had 1minute left and decided to race to the dragonator to use it a second time. I was super nervous and allready thought i lost, i prayed. I pulled the trigger and he died when i had 27 seconds left. I couldn't believe it. Ah and btw, I didn't realise your hammer was a improved version of a hammer. I realized after your comment.

It's been a while since I fought this guy sooo....does anyone exactly know the breakable parts? I'm 100% sure you can break it twice but I can't remember if you can break it completely like with the other crabs. And are the front claws breakable?
aaalso what's high rank gaoren's hp? Because that dude wont die. I go rathalos bow + silver rath armor for elemental boost and constantly fully charge the shell for piercing but I always repell him
I think you can break the shell twice, but it wont break completely. I don't think you can break any other parts, but I'm not really sure, I wouldn't recommend attacking the claws/pincers anyways. I'm not too sure for high rank stuff just yet, sorry :/ but low rank has ~14,000 HP, I dunno if that value varies at all. So, high rank will probably have more HP and have a general defense modifier I believe, just for being in high rank.
wouldn't it be faster if you attacked his belly when crouched? I always attack the belly when im usin hammer and hit the legs if he's either attacking the wall or when I cant hit his belly. Also, you hyped for mh rise?
Probably. I'm not really a speedrunner or anything like that, so this is just how I fight it, it's similar to how I didn't focus solely on Chameleos' legs in that video.
