After years of RICE, I’m always looking for ways to reverse all the damage done by the never ending cycle of sprained ankles (leading to one ankle being reconstructed in surgery) and RICE on repeats for years.
Directions are pretty clear. Compression, ice and elevation are bad because it slows healing process. I remember reading somewhere the person that came up with the R.I.C.E. method regrets it. The only time to use RICE is when the swelling becomes so bad that it causes additional tissue damage from the expansion.
A helpful approach is to use crutches or a walker to keep weight off the injured ankle while moving around. If you have access to a chair or stool, you might find it easier to sit while using crutches or a walker to get to the bathroom. Rest up and take care! - YOGABODY Team
I need to add that getting a chiropractor to put everything back in order is a must! Around here a chiropractor will fix a sprained ankle for about $30, no insurance or appointment.
Terrible? Reducing pain and inflammation is bad? Many of us work hard jobs and can not just take a "break" and what corrective exercises? Physical therapy or professional care. to learn correct exercises cost lots of money. Sure, I will lay around my pool and not work. WTF?
Reduced mobilization = Rest

Hello Gayle - check out the channel I have lots!
So on the first five days… you don’t rest, ice, compress or elevate?
No he means you don’t eat rice

Seemed pretty concise. "Avoid rice, instead ... "

@@KrayZaZnKiDperhaps too concise, but thankfully creator linked a video with more complete information.
Okay but question, how do I put the bone back in or is my ankle just popping out forever?
Noticed this when i had a sprained ankle, got better and better the more i used it. After a week ot two of healing ofc.
How do people go to the bathroom during rest periods. I tried walking on one leg while keeping the other in air(injured) but the recoil hit hard.
