So, so, so, sad your bunny past away 😣
Twice a year I have to make a 7 hour car trip as I leave University and go back home for the summer. My rabbit Barney comes along for the ride (he's now done the trip 3 times). I was very anxious the first time around as I know rabbits don't do well with travelling, he doesn't enjoy the car rides to the vet so I was worried about having him in the car for 7 hours. My advice is be prepared! He gets his own backpack where I keep his favorite treats, fruits and hay. I also have a water bottle just for him. He doesn't drink or eat during the ride so we make quick stops where I syringe him some water and feed him some treats as he eats when the car stops. I also prepare him the night before and morning of, I usually give him red clover or lucerne hay which has a higher protein content and a high sugar treat like banana to boost his blood glucose levels. No loud music and the AC is turned on. He goes in a medium sized dog crate that is lined with a pee pad and his blankets, he has his soft toy buddies in there as well. Half of the crate gets covered with a towel so he can chill out. Once I get home I let him out and he usually goes toilet, eats hay and then sleeps for the rest of the time. Its important that once you reach your destination you just let them chill out. My dog usually wants to come see Barney (as they get along quite well) but I don't let them see each other until Barney has rested and calmed down. I really liked the calming herb mix ! I've never heard of that before and will try it next time we have to travel !

Nathalie when you travel on planes, (if you have) do you put the litter box inside the carrier? I’m moving to Hawaii and I don’t really think 4 hours in a plane without hay is good for her. Any suggestions? It’s a direct flight please let me know!

@@hollys8694 I think the best solution is to put a *bunch* of hay in the carrier itself, along with a pee pad, blankets, toys, Water, and (maybe) some pellets.

I got Blue (he got a friend after a while) in a pet store cage for almost a month at the beginning but then I started to watch your videos and I felt guilty. So I got him Free roam in my bedroom! After a while he got a friend so I'm glad he was already free roam. They tend to wake me up at night so I made 2 pet store cages together for the night! It isn't enough as a permanent home but great for the night! They don't chew the bars and just flop in their cage be they know they'll be free once I wake up again! So as you can see there is a solution for everyone even if you can't have them free roam 24/7.

I love this channel. Bunnies seem so insignificant to us (as humans) more pets like dogs and cats are treated this way, it’s almost strange to see a rabbit being cared for in this manner ( aka properly).

I’ve taken my bunny to Oregon it’s about 10 hours away from me and my bunny does pretty well I also stop a lot and bring a car seat with hay in it:) so he stays pretty occupied😂

So True. The other day I went to get my bunnies nails trimmed, and there were new bunnies for sale there, so me and my mom went to look at them. This family was talking about wanting to get bunnies for their kids. Knowing how high maintenance rabbits are, we told them its probably not a good idea for young kids, unless the parents planned on taking care of them. Then they told us they had rabbits before but they died. My mom asked how and they admitted, it was a hot California day and they left them outside in a hutch and they died of heat stroke. It was so heartbreaking, they just said it so nonchalant. I'm so not the kind of person who gets into peoples business, but if I didn't do anything, those baby buns probably would have died too. So me and mom told them that its better for them to be inside, we tried to nicely persuade them not to get the bunnies, by telling them the work that goes into them. When an employee overheard how they let their rabbits die, she chimed in as well, she was a bit more assertive than we were. Thankfully I think they got the hint, cuz they ended up leaving the store without getting the bunnies. People just get pets without knowing how to take care of them, and it up dying unnecessarily it's sad. :\
so true. My hairdresser said they just released theirs into the the backyard to fend for itself. I was horrified. How is a rabbit that has been in a cage suppose to know how to do that? Am I wrong in thinking that? But, I am very excited about this channel because my daughter loves her bunny as much as any dog or cat. For the past five years she has been diligent and very determined to educate herself on her special friend. The rabbit is very bonded to her and comes to her just with a call. It is a beautiful relationship.
Also it takes a lot of time to like adopt a bunny, at least for me, and they poop a lot -_-

*This comment has nothing to do with travel items* I was honestly against free roaming, even though I've been subscribed to this channel for awhile, until I got the world's most stubborn bunny 3 weeks ago. She decided that she wasn't going to be in an encloser by rattling the door as loud as possible. I can say that I've never been happier now that she is free roam and am so appreciative that you have videos on how to properly free roam. We love you guys so much!

I never travel with my bunnies instead I get them looked after by my grandparents but this is very useful for me travelling through the vet since my bunny is getting her injections soon and I shouldn’t really be calling her a bunny because she’s almost 4 years old!!!☺️❤️

Kitty Canolies You'll pretty much have to find a pet sitter or vet clinic that is willing to watch rabbits. You can always ask your vet for advice on finding a sitter because they might know of someone.

My rabbit escaped my garden and ended up practically in our neighbors garden, we looked everywhere and couldn’t find her, I thought I lost my bunny forever.... but, then we went next door and found her half way in between the fence...😔 I was so scared that I had lost her ... would you be able to make a video on letting rabbits have fun, but staying safe and also how to keep them from being bored ( unless you’ve already done that)

This is awesoommeee!!! But one question, that little Ouse thing that you used in your beach video, can it be used as a permanent home for inside bunny’s?! I’m planning on getting a bunny, and I want to keep it inside. I’m trying to eliminate cages all together Because bunny’s dont belong in cages, do you have any recommendations?! Thank you!
Dr squish Mini fans- only speaking from our own experience, we bought a little pop up pet tent and have only used when visiting family for short bits or when sitting at the park. When she gets bored though starts biting the siding and zipper. We have a large dog crate which is her home base when we are not home....but as soon as we return she had the run of the house and goes back in the large crate only at bedtime. Now that the weather is finally warming up, we also built an outdoor enclose (with a roof so birds don't prey on her), and she enjoys a long sunny day eating grass...then back inside for bed 😊
Bunnies also don't belong inside or on their own.
A hutch is what we used outside

I don't have a rabbit myself I have guinea pigs but I still watch your videos because some of these items and tips can also work well for guinea pigs.
I know well that guinea pigs and rabbits are really different. But they both are animals so some tips can work for both.
My friend has a rabbit but she isn't really good at understanding English which is another reason why I watch your channel. So that I can give her tips.
