I recently rescued 2 New Zealand bunnies from a bunny mill. I wish that they would love me like your bunny does. I am working with them and I hope that they will stop being afraid of me soon.
I recently caught 5 baby bunnies at my workplace, to be relocated to my lower yard soon (I have to raise them for a while before letting them loose in the wild world with my neighbor's cats hunting). They are very used to me and tame now, since they are about 15 days old and I have been around for half their lives since their eyes opened. They are in a temporary outside cage right now. Yes, they poop and pee everywhere! Nice to have them outside now. I will catch many more bunnies in the next week. Hopefully some adults to be with them and teach them rabbit stuff.
My false Charley loppy boy is the poo puff whale. He makes these aesthetic arc jumps out of the box, but with a perfect arch of poo, lining his jump path every time. He's my piggy boy that never stops eating but he's the silkiest and sweetest boy too. He puts up with me always playing with his ears.. I can deal with him poo diving out of boxes.
Teddy Bear looks just like our Coco! I recently wrote a song about how much rabbits poop. We're having trouble with our rabbits. They're fixed and bonded and we've been seeing an increasing amount of flops, and mutual grooming so the bond only seemed to be getting better. But when we bring them food they run into each other getting excited for the food which turns into a bit of a fight (Coco doesn't like that Fifi bumps into him and then sticks his nose into the back of Fifi threatening a nip but Fifi runs away from it but it can lead to chasing/circling). Recently it's escalated to a full on nip fest with fur everywhere. The first time it happened it was over night and we wouldn't have known about it except for the cage was a mess and fur was everywhere. That day they laid next to each other and groomed each other like they'd never been better friends. Then after a weekend with my wife's family over (admittedly a lot of stimulation for them) they had about 3 of these spats in a day and since we've separated them waiting 'til they cool down a bit and then maybe rebonding them. We're still not sure how to stop the tiffs when bringing them food. Currently we're just sad they have to be separated.
I wonder if scatter feeding will help? Like placing pieces of food throughout their space so that they are focusing on searching for food rather than each other's trespassing.
I have a female bunny who is a great escape artist. Unfortunately i have to keep my rabbits on the frobt porch. Every time mama bunny manages to escape, I woory about her. However bc she knows every morning I feed them lettuce and their feed, evech tine she escapes she will show back up in her cage the next morning. Amazes me and frustrates me at the same time. 😊
rabbits are not easy to take care most people think is easy but its not. I love my bunny Emma she is super calm do not chew on anything than her timothy hay , parsley and pellet's and is a free rabbit she have her spot in the house but she is free to go anywhere in the house
Heyo Amy! I noticed that you scoop out your bunnies litter boxes, I just wanna know if you can share with me how you maintain your bun's litter box, if you dont mind. I personally clean mine out completely every other day, but I'm completely open to learn new ways just to find what's more comfortable for my schedule and I, and my rabbit of course.
I like to scoop out the soiled litter every day so that I can monitor for any changes in the rabbit poop, but there is really no correct way of doing this. Cleaning it out every other day is a great way of taking care of the litter box, so there is no need to change it up if that's working for you
I love this you earned a sub I am Hopeful of getting a bunny in the future and it's very nice to see how to properly take care of one and know what they are capable of! I'm very happy to see this! Ty fir sharing as I do more research on how to take care of them I love how they are loyal companions as well:)
Thanks for your very helpful tips, bunny lady.🙂 Just goes to show you that a person should check into the nature and needs of an animal BEFORE they get one as a pet. 🙂 So...thanks again for your helpful tips on rabbits. My rabbit SEEKS OUT cables to bite through, I swear it. The amount of phone chargers, ethernet cables and keyboards/headsets I've gone through is despicable. This video was very informative, entertaining, and 100% accurate 🤣
A white rabbit has escaped from his or her home nearby and has moved into my garden. I really adore the little guy and have set up a little spot with a roofed structure for feeding him and a little home with hay and shelter. He roams around a few local gardens but likes mine best because i don't have a dog. I hope he won't fall prey to a fox or eagle, but he seems to be pretty smart and has been around for a while. He's such a lovely little bunny. I think he just wants to be free...
please take the rabbit to a rescue or humane society it will not survive outside if it's domesticated unfortunately they're diets are different from a wild hare or it will be eaten by a predator.
@@kakay1018 Well, no one can catch him or her! She's just made it through a severe storm where I live, and was seen munching and hopping around my garden today. They are amazingly resilient creatures - Australia has a very serious history of awful rabbit plagues. I will keep a close eye on her. I'd say that foxes aren't an issue because most people have dogs around here, and being just one rabbit, she doesn't create much of a scent trail. She's got plenty of cover and bales of hay and straw to live in. I think I'll fence in an area to keep her safe. I appreciate your comment.
Hey, Just watched a load of your videos, noticed it's been a long time since anything was uploaded but the pinterest was still used. Could you post an update on Ellie and Teddy?
I'm glad I've had some experience with rabbits and also experience with guinea pigs because the whole "the hay gets everywhere" and "you've never seen so much poop!" and "Ah, yes, there's fur in my mouth" Doesn't surprise me in the slightest anymore. 😂 I have five piggies, and I'm getting my first bunny as an adult in a few days. Thank you for this video!
No, you should not feed milk to young rabbits. They only need to be given water from the time they are weaned. If you are dealing with an orphaned baby bunny who is less than 2 months old, kitten formula is a better substitute. You can learn more about that at HRS here: rabbit.org/faq-orphaned-baby-bunnies/

My old rabbit always thumped when i would eat a granola bar by her enclosure sadly i couldn't free room her but she was angry i wasn't sharing so i made her own bunny safe granola bars
Is it possible to bond a rabbit with rats? I have 3 rats who try to groom and cuddle the new rabbit I got, but the rabbit gets mad and attacks them. I now keep them separated but was wondering if rabbbits will except other prey species as friends?
You might find it helpful to neuter or spay your rabbit because it sounds liek you didn't. For the pee problem it comes under litter training and you just use a tissue to clean up the pee and put it in their litter box. Litter training can be harder if they're not spayed or neutered.
When rabbits shed, bring them outside with a fur buster. And then go to town. Bunny is going to hate you for a day, so just be sure to have time for pets and treats. After that, keep a swifter and swiffer everyday. I only have one rabbit, and my house isn’t dusty. I have short haired Rex, I’m a lucky girl.
I have 2 male bonded English Lops 10 weeks old that we rescued 2 weeks ago. I have set up my 2nd bathroom as their indoor area with a large cage full of hay to sleep in, they have a cat tunnel and other toys to play with. I put a litter tray in corner and have been watching a lot about toilet training so pick up stray poop and put in the tray to show them where to go. They are about 50/50 in using it but outside the tray is also heaps of poo and urine. I'm getting really frustrated about the amount of mess to clean a few times a day. Any suggestions? I also have an outdoor enclosure which I put them in each day for a few hours to give them variety.

Hi I got my third bunny yesterday and when o went to feed her this morning she was fine but when I checked on her about an hour ago there was soft poop idk if it’s Diarrhoea or her poop there meant to eat I can’t spell it what do you think
@@annettefinn6934 if you google ‘bunny poop chart’ and look at images, it will give you images of normal and abnormal bunny poop. The grape looking poops are called cecotrophes. They can eat them sometimes since it’s evidently high in nutrients for the bun. I’ve seen my bunny give a lot of those and they’re difficult to sweep up since they’re wet 🤮 so yes they are pretty easy to smear. If it looks more on the runny side you might want a qualified bun doctor to check it out or maybe review the diet of the bun.
@@annettefinn6934 I found a website that goes over the different reasons why he may not be eating it. (You got me curious too!) here’s the link: www.petsial.com/rabbit-not-eating-cecotropes/
True about the poop, and at least rabbits don't poop literally every few seconds while they are active. Chinchillas poop a tremendous amount while they're active. Every few seconds. No kidding. The only time a chinchilla doesn't poop constantly is when it's asleep or resting.
My daughter got a rabbit through ffa/ag through school. She knows she bit off more than she can chew. Her assignment was to breed, we did and babies came. Now they are big and in one cage...WE NEED HELP! We need to sell them. But we need to clean their cage first...its nasty because we don't know what to do..like transfer them. We have watched you tube videos on how to lift them and but there are so many of them. They are Meat rabbits apparently. We need to sell them. But they are very dirty. How do I clean them
hi it can take from one week to months. it depends on the rabbit, you can usually tell by the personality of how it acted with you from the start. if you're having trouble there are a lot of vides about how to bond with your bunny
My rabbits favorite place to thump is under my bed right at the head of it. To make it worse he is a checkered giant and weighs 12 pounds, so It sounds more like dropping a dumbbell on the floor.
Really like your video Amy, thank you. My wife and I have 2 baby Flemish Giants, they are sisters and were born together. We have seen many videos on Flemmishes and some contradict themselves on y.t. regarding foods (fruits vs vegetables) and keeping them in a rather large area indoors, which we have, and/or letting them free roam in an area outside. Any advise?
I say you treat your flemishes like normal rabbits. Since they're so big it might be more ideal for you to freeroam them indoors, you can litter train them and use a giant plastic tub as a litter box, you will definitely need to bunny proof as they can sometimes be destructive. There are plenty of videos about these things and some channels I recommend are Lennon the bunny, 101rabbits, stormy rabbits and obviously the one this video is for. Their diet should be 80% Timothy hay, 15%veggies and 5% treats. Hay is very important for their diet and should always be available with no restrictions. Of course not everyone can free roam and you did say you have a huge space indoors, as they are babies they can grow out of that space very quickly. There are many videos on none free roam rabbits like yours in big areas of space. Do leave a reply if you have any more question and I will try and answer them, hope this helped.
I actually keep a lint roller by my front door so that I can just give myself a once over whenever I leave the house! I have 4 house rabbits so there is a lot of fur! 😂 200 poops a day? That can't be right, it's way more than that! 😂 Oh, if your getting a rabbit don't bother having wallpaper up, they love that stuff! 😂 and wooden coffee tables or side tables? Ha! 😂 Freya was very destructive but now that she's bonded with Odin she doesn't destroy things much now; a lot of destructive behaviour can be due to loneliness and boredom. (There was a delay in bonding due to Covid because I couldn't get Odin in to be neutered). Also, I was never told how important it is to spay female rabbits due to the high risk of uterine cancer. I didn't spay my first female rabbit because I didn't know about this and her partner was neutered so I thought that I didn't need to get her done. She had to be put to sleep due to the cancer because rabbits are prey animals and hide symptoms so nothing could be done by the time I knew that she was ill. Please spay the females, it's a myth that they should have a litter before spaying, I've asked several vets and they've all said that there's no need so get them spayed as soon as possible.
Question, one of my rabbits has turned the littler box into a digging box instead. Any idea how to train them to stop digging in it and throwing hay and bedding all over the place? 🤦♀️
are you using paper litter? is you are you can switch too wood pellet (as long as you get ones safe for rabbits) since they're harder so they will be less desirable to dig in
@@bellathefrog2265 I'm using the Carefree Natural small Pet Bedding under hay in order to absorb urine and make it easier to clean up. I'll check into the Pellets.
I LOVE your videos, also I am a kid my account is under my moms name lol my name is Ady. Hoping to get a bunny so I’m hunting for videos and trying to convince my dad. Most likely getting one. You are so helpful!!!
Hello I'am getting a 4 week old rabbit today and I need some advice. I found your youtube while searching. How to litter train your rabbit? How to gain trust? And how long you need to wait until you let the rabbit out of the cage? It would help a lot:) (a simular white rabbit you have)
hi rabbits usually poop while they eat if your putting hay in your rabbits litter box or, on a hay rack next to waste less hay, they will usually go in the litter box. clean up any poop they do outside of the litter box and make sure to get rid of the smell so they are less likely to go there again. gaining a rabbits trust is a process too but u can start by just laying on the floor and letting them inspect you in their on time. laying on the floor is recommended because since rabbits are prey animals if you stand over them they feel threatened like a predator is trying to get them. you can also hand feed them and don't try to get too close to them too quickly if your rabbit isn't ready for you to pet them or carry them give them time. there's not a specific time to free roam a bunny but you can start by letting them out sometimes and seeing what they are interested in chewing and rabbit proof accordingly. hope this helps
Bella has 100% good advice. Get on the bunnies level and wait awhile, then hand feed them slowly, and reel them in slowly and close to you with it. Then if you feel the bunny is comfortable, gently pet the forehead and see if they keep eating or jolt away. The more acclimated they get to your presence, the more they’ll enjoy being closer to you over time. if the bunny kisses, poops and/or pees on you, congrats! You belong to the bunny now 😂❤️
My biggest mistakes with my six years old bunny is living in the outside cage and his diet. We are in the fifth day of freeroaming in our room and he is more energetic and more alive. Diet part is tricky, because i feed him only pellets and fruit treats. I tried many times with different hays, but he just rolles his eyes. Do you have any tips for very picky bunny?
A rabbits diet should be 80% hay 15% veggies and 5% treats. If your rabbit isn't taking hay this is what you should do. - place the hay in the litter box your bunny is using -add some treats mixed into the hay so your bunny becomes interested -when you see your bunny eating hay reward it and give it a treat This may take a long time, you can try feeding your rabbit grass as it practically has the same effect as hay, you can either let your rabbit in the garden with supervision or cut some grass with scissors and bring it in. I'm glad you are trying to provide a better life for your bunny. An adult bunny doesn't actually need pellets so you can cut out on them completely overtime. Still give your bunny veggies like spinage, rocket salad, celery romaine salad; just a handful in the morning and then in the evening. Rabbits are allowed a teaspoon of treats per day. Hope this helps you. If you have any questions just leave them in the replies and I'll try to answer them.
You can also get timothy hay compressed treats which sometimes really fussy eaters will enjoy... most suppliers have them. Or make them! Lots of recipes to make your own hay based treats....
@@chezdavies3074 thank you, i took him to vet that year and found out that he has advanced teeth disease (he has only 3 front teeth) and cannot eat hay. His diet is quality pellets, some non fruit treats and for balancing weight oat cereals.
Ones I have six bunny's five based bunnys and one that is not but no mader waht I love them and I can relate to all of this and my bunnys will thump on me and I sleep with mine they take trarns
for some reason my flemish giant doesn't like eating hay im not sure if its because of the hay brand but can anyone give me tips to make my him eat his hay pls
You need to make sure that the hay is good quality, long stems and more of a green colour than yellow. You could also try getting him some hay cookies or hay rollers, my rabbits can't get enough of them. Just make sure that there are no sugary preservatives added to them. You could also try mixing some dried dandelion mix in with the hay so he'll eat the hay to get at the dandelion mix. Hope one of these suggestions work!

Holy smoke this is quite an eye-opener.
My false Charley loppy boy is the poo puff whale. He makes these aesthetic arc jumps
out of the box, but with a perfect arch of poo, lining his jump path every time.
Cleaning it out every other day is a great way of taking care of the litter box, so there is no need to change it up if that's working for you
Thanks! I'll look into it for sure
I love this you earned a sub I am Hopeful of getting a bunny in the future and it's very nice to see how to properly take care of one and know what they are capable of! I'm very happy to see this! Ty fir sharing as I do more research on how to take care of them I love how they are loyal companions as well:)
Thanks for your very helpful tips, bunny lady.🙂
Just goes to show you that a person should check into the nature and needs of an animal BEFORE they get one as a pet. 🙂
So...thanks again for your helpful tips on rabbits. Remember bunny lady, that God really loves you and wants you to really love you too! Keep up the good work 🙂
My rabbit SEEKS OUT cables to bite through, I swear it.

Great tips! Thank you so much! 💓
Can we feed milk to little rabbits ? If yes then should we stop giving at a limited age
You're so welcome!
Wires, baseboards, bottom of furniture, clothes. Has become much better once I figured it out and so did Barry. Put chew proof covers on cables.

Is it possible to bond a rabbit with rats? I have 3 rats who try to groom and cuddle the new rabbit I got, but the rabbit gets mad and attacks them. I now keep them separated but was wondering if rabbbits will except other prey species as friends?
I found this so helpful. Please talk about the pee problem and breeding. You are amazing!
You might find it helpful to neuter or spay your rabbit because it sounds liek you didn't. For the pee problem it comes under litter training and you just use a tissue to clean up the pee and put it in their litter box. Litter training can be harder if they're not spayed or neutered.

How to get my bunny to stop chewing on my carpet ? Is it safe for him or not?
When rabbits shed, bring them outside with a fur buster. And then go to town. Bunny is going to hate you for a day, so just be sure to have time for pets and treats. After that, keep a swifter and swiffer everyday. I only have one rabbit, and my house isn’t dusty. I have short haired Rex, I’m a lucky girl.
I have subscribed. I have 6 bunnies and upload videos about them. Crazy bunny lady here
I have 3 but they all don't get along what kind of help can you give me
I have 2 male bonded English Lops 10 weeks old that we rescued 2 weeks ago.
Hii,I have a rabbit,I really want your help,he keeps banging his cage at night,I don't know what to do.also, whenever I hold him to pet him,he runs away from me every time, please help
Thanks Amy!
I have two mini rex. I adopted them two months ago.
Hi I got my third bunny yesterday and when o went to feed her this morning she was fine but when I checked on her about an hour ago there was soft poop idk if it’s Diarrhoea or her poop there meant to eat I can’t spell it what do you think
Is it clumpy and wet? Does it resemble grapes?
I’m not 100 percent sure as some of it I think she has stepped in but some looks like grapes but if it is the poop that they eat why is she not eat it
@@annettefinn6934 if you google ‘bunny poop chart’ and look at images, it will give you images of normal and abnormal bunny poop.
Ye I looked at it and there caecotroph but idk why she not eating them
@@annettefinn6934 I found a website that goes over the different reasons why he may not be eating it. (You got me curious too!) here’s the link:

Oh my heck they really do poop A LOT!!! Seriously I was blown away!
How do I clean them
Loved this video, thank you, good info for sure! 🐰💜🐰🐰❤️💕
🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂 Had a bunny who actually ate half of a homework paper. They chew EVERYTHING!!!!
Ellie and Teddy bear are adorable😍 Mam I just now bought a rabbit, how much average time will it take to bond with my rabbit
hi it can take from one week to months. it depends on the rabbit, you can usually tell by the personality of how it acted with you from the start. if you're having trouble there are a lot of vides about how to bond with your bunny

I have a question, can rabbits glare at you or do they kinda squint their eyes only when they are tired/ relaxed?
Sooo true! I really want another rabbit, but I know it would be harder now :) Maybe in the future
My rabbits favorite place to thump is under my bed right at the head of it. To make it worse he is a checkered giant and weighs 12 pounds, so It sounds more like dropping a dumbbell on the floor.
you seem so knowledable about bunnies.
It's true about once tou get a rabbit ur going to want to get another one. I got one, and now I might want to get another one. Idk for sure
True! I got one rabbit intending to not get another one. Now I have two. I am so glad i got 2
I wish I had seen this video before washing the litter box in my bathtub haha yep definitely plugged
I actually keep a lint roller by my front door so that I can just give myself a once over whenever I leave the house! I have 4 house rabbits so there is a lot of fur! 😂
200 poops a day? That can't be right, it's way more than that! 😂
Oh, if your getting a rabbit don't bother having wallpaper up, they love that stuff! 😂 and wooden coffee tables or side tables? Ha! 😂
Freya was very destructive but now that she's bonded with Odin she doesn't destroy things much now; a lot of destructive behaviour can be due to loneliness and boredom.
I love that your rabbits are named Freya and Odin!! That's so awesome!
My rabbit does dead bunny flops really loud wen I'm not watching just so I can look and get scared 🤣 always wen I'm not looking
I feel like I’ve been throwing out more hay than my bunno is eating. Is that normal?
Question, one of my rabbits has turned the littler box into a digging box instead. Any idea how to train them to stop digging in it and throwing hay and bedding all over the place? 🤦♀️
Use a litter box with high walls and a cover on top. Let them dig but at least it won't spill everywhere.
are you using paper litter? is you are you can switch too wood pellet
(as long as you get ones safe for rabbits) since they're harder so they will be less desirable to dig in
@@bellathefrog2265 I'm using the Carefree Natural small Pet Bedding under hay in order to absorb urine and make it easier to clean up. I'll check into the Pellets.
I can’t seem to litter train my rabbit he has one area where he likes to poop but he will go anywhere but the litter box
GIRLLLLL yes!!!! That's is lol we have two free roam rescues ...we had to learn a lot!!!!!! Lol

I’m so lucky I have a yard. I can compost my soiled hay, wood pellets, and left foods
The worst is getting the fur in your nose hair...You'll be sitting in class trying to remove it without looking like you're picking your nose....XD
@@bellathefrog2265 thank you! Helped a lot :)
@@gaborhelman1183 im so glad to hear that:)

- place the hay in the litter box your bunny is using
-add some treats mixed into the hay so your bunny becomes interested
-when you see your bunny eating hay reward it and give it a treat
This may take a long time, you can try feeding your rabbit grass as it practically has the same effect as hay, you can either let your rabbit in the garden with supervision or cut some grass with scissors and bring it in.

My bunny keeps pooping on the couch but he’s litter trained for the most part
for some reason my flemish giant doesn't like eating hay im not sure if its because of the hay brand but can anyone give me tips to make my him eat his hay pls
Have you tried Timothy hay? That's what I feed my buns and they love it
Try different sorts of hay
if you're feeding them too many pellets they wont want to eat hay
My lion-head rabbit will only eat alfalfa hay, it's sweeter.. probably not the best for him but I've tried several others& he wouldn't eat them ❤🐇
