Do you need a DAW?
In this tutorial we are going to explain how to record your guitar (or it could be another instrument) using your Fantom 0.
You simply connect your instrument to the Mic/Line input and adjust the volume at the rear panel of the Fantom.
Next comes the fun; there are almost 100 effects inside the Fantom that you can use. Indeed if you are for example in a band and you are a guitar player you can connect your guitar to a Fantom, set your effects and play along… this is so easy and fantastic.
We are also going to demonstrate how to sample your guitar to keyboard, which will create a sample that will be used inside the Fantom and saved as a wave inside a user preset. During the demonstration I will show you how you can normalise the sample, truncate parts that are not needed and also change the start play position of the sample. Sample to keyboard allows you to create a new instrument; of course when you play different keys of your new instrument, the Fantom will use the original note and then change the pitch for the keys you are pressing. It is so easy!
Of course the video is not a guitar performance, far from it, but hopefully it will give you an insight or starting point to how to go about recording than a bass and perhaps after that some vocals… and a tutorial is coming to show you how to include all of that inside your patterns….WOW!

Thank you so much please keep these fantastic videos coming I am learning so much from them
Will do and please share about the channel
Fantastic, thanks a lot !
Great
Excellent video. I like the style and method you teach. It is direct and provided great information. Thank you.
You are welcome
Thnaks indeed. Nonetheless, I would strongly suggest you to zoon in when it is necessary because there are parts in this video and others that the zoom view make a great difference ..no need to show the entire keyboard but more than the tiny screen only. Another hint is that I have a tough time to see the screen as for me most of the time is not in good focus. Pls bare in mind I am here to ask for help and asking you these to make it easier for me , however you must know your audience here better than myself. Nonetheless it could improve to boost your subscribers , thats for sure. Regards.
Thank you, all valid comments… sometimes difficult to record the screen of these keyboard to get the right focus, but good point on zoom…
I am happy you were able to understand my intention was not to be a dummy hater but to be able to better learn in an easier way and have you to have more subscribers.@@soundformore
Thank you
Love it.. thanks for helping the love!
You are welcome
thanks. Saved my day
I am glad…
I love your videos, very helpful. Thank you. Could you do one on the Roland Cloud and how to import everything and what is and isn't available, It's pretty confusing to me!
I see what I can do…
This is cool. Can you demonstrate how to use the mic line in? How to adjust the mic sound/etc would be great. In a live setting I'd like for my mic to go in the fantom 0 straight to my powered pa speakers if possible.
Please check the other videos in the playlist first to see if they answer your question, if not I will create another video… Roland Fantom 0/06/07/08

Wonderful demonstration, however all of these effects, except for the amp sim, are meant to have amp and cab models after them. These sounds were essentially like running a guitar through an effect pedal and then straight into a mixer.
Yes thank you
On my roland fantom 8 it doesn't show the mfx, and when I click master effects button and play when I apply overdrive it doesn't have an affect on my guitar
There could be various reasons for that… are you saying you do not see MFX in any of the screens inside the edit effects from the main menu?
@@soundformore i do not
It is a little bit difficult to understand without some more details please
Can you load two samples and then split the keyboard for the two samples? For instance, sample a distorted muted guitar string, and then sample a chord like you demonstrated, and then simulate a muted guitar petal note over a chord? Such is common in the heavy metal genre.
Yes, there is a tutorial coming that will show how to split partials with different samples…
A tutorial has been uploaded
Can you also loop your live guitar playing in the sequencer, or only use it as a sample?
You can play the guitar over live, but if you wanted it recorded in a loop you need to record it as a sample inside the Fantom first as the Fantom doesn’t have dedicated audio tracks…
@@soundformore Thank you for the quick reply 😊👍
No problems
Sir please tell me if we remove licence from fantom 06 keyboard then what kind of effects can we faced
Can you expand on what you mean about removing the licence? Are you referring to the USB driver?
I want to install expension in my fantom06 but massage displaying on screen for removing licence 1092 error. What to do?
What expansion are you trying to install please?
at glance Fantom looks nice until you think about FX routing... for example Kronos allows to build chain of 12 IFX (not considering master and total effects) if you need something really complex
Kronos is a far superior machine in my view…
@@soundformoreand priced accordingly. Let me know when I can pick up a Kronos for a bit over 1K.
Yes it is more expensive
So, you can't have more than one multi-effect in a chain for a single input?
For audio input yes… for internal is different as you can take advantage of zones… you still have eq, m.comp, TFX etc though
@@soundformore thanks for replying
No problems
First !
Super…
Are you using a DI box? a guitar is High Z, not line level.
No DI box
@@soundformore Ye, that s why your signal level is so low :)...You ll get a much better result with a DI box. Take mare man...thanks :)
